Wow! This was a really interesting video! Thanks for sharing this with us! I had no idea that cow's milk and goat's milk were so different. I've made butter many times and will tell you I sure wish my grandma had used a blender back in the day!!! Shaking that gallon jar of cream sure got old fast!😂 Nothing better than fresh butter so in the end it was worth the time spent.
Lol, I have an old fashioned butter churn sitting on my counter but even that takes to long.. my memories with my grandmother was canning, she never had livestock, but those memories are worth their weight in gold. Those that went before us were such a storehouse of knowledge and I always wish I could go back and ask more
Omg…. Never heard of goat butter… looks like a unique business opportunity… thanks for sharing… do you ever make yogurt or cheese? You could brand it and get a stall at farmers market…
I've made both yogurt and cheese, even a wonderful thing called Cajeta ( Mexican caramel) which pairs nicely with Goats milk Ice Cream ;) Soap is another wonderful use of Goats milk ..So many uses!
Thanks!!! Of course, your welcome anytime, but especially when the goats are in milk and you can test some out, maybe on some homemade bread :) Thanks for watching
I always heard you couldn't make butter.. That is awesome! Hope to get a milk goat someday soon! I will keep this information in mind! Thank you for sharing!
I've had enough people be surprised when I've told them I have made goat butter, many long time goat owner and breeders! It seemed Everytime I made butter I would get halfway into it and remember I should have grabbed the recorder, this morning I got up and decided this was the day I would share! So many things to do with the milk! I hope to be able to share more in the future :) thank you for watching!
@@HansenNeverDoneFarms this is why I want a lamancha! I want to make our butter. I will be coming back to watch for more on this since I've never done it. Thanks!
@@OurOkieHomestead it's the best! Chosing goats with a higher butterfat and feeding to capitalize on that is essential :) have fun with all the wonderful things we can make from these beautiful animals!
Cold cream, I've never tried it at room temperature. Sometimes it takes several minutes to completely mix and turn to butter. It will go from a thick whipped cream look to a fluffy grainy look to finally butter.
Our raw milk we have drank at 3 weeks old with no issues, it would be an interesting experiment to test this year! Heavy cream I have been able to save for up to 10 days, if I remember correctly I had some start to sour at around 2 week, and butter.. this is why I freeze, the butter doesn't last more than 4-5 days. I have tried rinsing it longer and nothing has worked.. so now I use it mostly for cooking and baking when I know I will go thru it quickly
Oh my goodness..soup beans..killed lettuce and onions..sliced up tomato's..and sweet cornbread with home made butter..oh man there is nothing better lol.
WONDERFULL....GOD BLESS YOU
I use a wooden spoon to work my butter. It works pretty good and saves my hands from freezing 😁
Thank you just what I was looking for.
You are welcome!
Great way of explaining 👍
Thank you 😊
Love this video!! Does goat butter taste different than regular cow butter? This is so interesting! Thanks for making this video!
I cannot tell a difference taste wise, it does smell a bit different, and it does melt much quicker. Thank you for watching!☺☺

@@HansenNeverDoneFarms I'm still learning. Always. So I will be watching for more 😀
I have tried but I think i messed up somewhere lol. Do i mix the cream straight from the fridge or room temperature?
Cold cream, I've never tried it at room temperature. Sometimes it takes several minutes to completely mix and turn to butter. It will go from a thick whipped cream look to a fluffy grainy look to finally butter.
Could a cream separator work better for you?
It might, but honestly they are expensive and not a tool I choose to purchase at the moment with everything else going on .. 😊
Do you pasteurize the milk before placing in fridge a few days ?
No, our milk is raw :)
How long is milk, cream, butter good for in the fridge?

Right?? Love having this again in the freezer, homemade butter is the best!
