You need to get grass to grow around the little stream you were working on, there was no vegetation along the banks so after 1 or 2 good rain storms there will be more mud eroding into the stream, ruining all your rock work. The roots from the grass help keep dirt in-place

Personally, with the property and brush you have there I think you're going to regret not getting a gas trimmer with the ability to take a blade for brush/saplings.
@@bassbullienation8703 at the surface its 70 but down where they are in the water it is probably closer to 55. and Maine temps are cooler in most regions but when a pond is 8 ft deep at the deepest point, and has no moving water, it is going to hover in the upper 70s during the summer, and have an oxygen deficiency throughout. speaking as a mainer who is going to school for fisheries ecology.

hey jon! just a tip for catching those small pond fish, i typically throw a 3 wt fly rod with small nymph flies... it always works and is great practice for targeting stripers on the fly!
My vote is for brook trout! If you decide to put them in your pond and want them to reproduce add some more pea gravel at the inlet of the creek in the pond. If you have enough water flow through the creek in the spawning season oct-dec the brookies will spawn in the gravel, otherwise trout most likely wont reproduce. The eggs need cool oxygenated flowing water to live. Then again anything is possible, you are far enough north they might spawn without it.

Hey u can get a tank with a spray to put in the back of the commander to spray down by the pond for bugs. And you can get spray to kill all of the weeds so it will just be grass. Hope this helps.
You should totally do a trout pond. But where are you planning on getting water from? Is there a spring upstream of the pond? If you want healthy trout habitat, a decent current would really be best
