That’s my kind of equipment. It’s built to outlast the operator and simple to work on. Thanks for showing it being brought back to life. Now you need a job to put it to work on.
Hello James it’ run again great to see that Mack is a thing of beauty great video you guys did a great job my hats off to you that is a beast to drive thank you ken
Bonjour c'est super de voir cet machine reprendre vie grace a vous bravo et merci pour cette vidéo ou vos qualitées et connaissances en mecanique font plaisir a voir
A true dinosaur! Excellent! You have to get used to double-clutching those non synchronized gears. That double stick will make a man pause. Cheers Terry
My first job out of high school i went to work local quarry that had 4- 35 ton and one 50 ton macks. i didn't know at the time how rare they were. now 30 years later I've seen a lot of equipment, been to many ,many auctions, the mack rock trucks are just not out there.
James, don’t force the gears, feel them. The engine sounds good and burns clean, and I noticed that the colors change one view the truck is orange and the next it’s Euclid green, what’s up with that.😂
@@carldrexler7883 the color difference is different cameras. The thumb nail picture is the best representation of the actual color. Yes shifting caught me off guard a little. It feels different. I’ll have to play with it more.
Must have missed the video with the starting problem. What's wrong with the series-parallel switch? Pretty sure you can find one but new ones can be expensive. If you feel comfortable you can take it apart and clean it. It's more or less like a starter solenoid inside, except more contacts and 2 round copper discs that move. You can always take it back to 12 volt starting as long as you use a 12 volt starter. It's just a Delco 40MT starter. I'm sure you must have some around
@@lucidrain9469 they were bought used back in the 90s. And they looked a lot like they do now. They’re actually probably in better shape now than when they found them back then.

What year is it ? This old beast will probably still run and operate after it turns 100! Theres this super old probably 80 plus or 60 plus year old… it’s definitely a 1960s (mid 60s through early 40s) EUCLID dump truck sitting in CT I pass by it rarely though it’s a cool green color faded. That rig is extremely old and I bet you it’ll fire up and run. I think it actually does! I’ve seen it in different spots before. Mainly for so long sitting not too far from the main route in sand. Used to be some site. I’d buy it wonder what it got for a engine definitely a super old Cummins orrrr, it could have a screaming 2 stroke Detroit a V8 or a V12 and I’ll be damned if it has a 12v71 Detroit in it. Be deafening loud

Yes it’s the 711. And the information on these trucks is hard to find. But I read somewhere that there were maybe 30 made. I’ve seen pictures of a completely restored M18 but the dump body had straight wall sides these are slanted. (I believe that’s the one you’re talking about. It’s beautiful) We’ve got a service manual for these trucks that has their serial numbers listed along with 2 others. So my thoughts were they made them in groups, and we have 2 of 4 that were alike. Thanks for the comment and I’d love to know more.
@@AppalachianRustyes your right they did make 30 of these BullDog Mack’s I was telling I worked for this Gentleman Gary Mahan the Mahan Collection well Gary bought a Mack M-100 SX with a 12V149T engine I worked on this giant removing the sheet metal engine air filter housings it was a blast if you time it’s on Utube put in Mack m-100 it’ll come up

Thanks for the ride-along, James. I've never even seen one of these. It's great to see this cool old iron up and running.
Yep that’s why I really wanted to show it running. They were built strong to do hard work and last
