I love how at the end of the finale Sweeney and Mrs Lovett walk off into the afterlife together realizing that now they both only have each other and jump into what is considered hell.
I hated that ending. Even if you want to argue he can't be with Lucy because she went to heaven and he went to hell... He would spend eternity trying to figure out a way to get back with Lucy
I literally was so mesmerized by joes performance I didn’t record the audio so thank you for this 🫶🏼❤️ I was teary eyed. He’s amazing. Aaron and Sutton were amazing. It was amazing.
Thank you for posting this. We were sitting in the front row on the right side and couldn’t see most of this scene. It was lovely to watch it and see this final scene.
of course!! Aaron made some really interesting acting choices for this too so I'm happy your able to catch them on this clip😊 I sat 2nd row the night after so I understand the struggle to see lol
I was hoping to see this comment!! The movie made it seem very unexoected, I audibly gasped because I wasn't familiar with the story line. This was underwhelming and anticlimactic
Agreed. It felt like there was no build-up. In this staging it's clear she knows what he's up to yet she allows him to drag her to the oven. So many things about this production feel off to me.
Agreed. Very disappointing. She should have fought him a bit more, and when "falling" into the oven, she should have screamed her head off, and then when he closed the door, she should be screaming in AGONY and banging on the door (from the inside), trying like hell to get out, while he held the door shut preventing it, until the screaming dies down. That would have been horrifying and awesome, like it's supposed to be. None of this "oh I'll just silently sit down in the fire while he just gently shuts the door like nothing's happening." Awful. I saw it live with Ashford and it was just as disappointing. I was actually disappointed in the entire production including the distractingly bizarre "Thriller zombie" choreography. Ugh.
Saw this production with both Josh and Aaron and while I personally think it's beyond brilliant, I didn't care for either Josh or Aaron's takes on the ending (perhaps it's the director's choice🤷). The way George Hearne wailed when he realizes he killed Lucy and the way he held her was heart breaking. And while both Joe Locke and Gaten were precious as Toby, nobody has ever come close to how Ken Jennings, the original Toby, portrayed him as this sweet, child like simpleton....both Joe and Gaten were missing that aspect...they played him as just a young man of no means...but you need to know that Toby isn't very bright, so that at the last moment when he turns into a killer, it's completely unexpected. The woman who played Lucy both times I saw it (not Ruthie Ann) was rather forgettable, but again the Lucy in the Hearne production was incredible...she carried a ratty old bag and had a rag doll that she talked to and cooed over. Just little things like that I missed. The girl who plays Johanna in this production is amazing. Her Greenfinch and Linnet bird was exceptional...you could tell that Johanna is starting to go mad being locked up...she gives her all these tics, which is quite effective. I absolutely LOVE how they jump into nothingness in the end. The ensemble and staging of this is so well done. I wish they'd bring in two more Broadway heavy hitters to continue as Sweeney and Lovett. It deserves to run much longer. Thank you for uploading these clips! ❤❤❤❤
>The way George Hearne wailed when he realizes he killed Lucy and the way he held her was heart breaking. Agree big time. Him screaming in horror over Lucy's body on the floor, while Angela Lansbury is singing "yes I lied 'cuz I looooove yooooou..." 😩👌
of course lovely!! i did not want to gatekeep lol and so happy they are reaching the right audience - I am missing some scenes since my phone cut out loads and quality isn't great towards beginning of the show, but if you can hang on I will have a few more parts up later today🤞🤞
you are so welcome!! im really sorry, i dont have a full slime, this is all the content - will keep checking though i maybe have a couple of clips to upload as shorts :)

I get all the chills when he starts to sing „Mrs. Lovett..” and crawls after her. So scary. Great acting from both of them 🙊

Oh yesss thankkkk youuuu
Thank you so much for sharing all of these clips from the show!!
Thank you.
So glad I got to see Joe Locke!! Such an amazing Broadway debut.
loll I actually love this I just wish that Lovett going into the oven looked less awkward!
My thoughts exactly. Why is the oven squat like that? It's usually upright for that very reason.
she just open a rather large amazingly hot oven with her bare hands
That was a very anticlimactic end for Mrs. Lovett… who calmly walks into their death?

I think it’s funny Sutton played eponine on stage and Aaron did enjolras on screen . Enjolras baked Eppie cake or pie lol

My Sweeney cast forever 🫶🏼❤️
Is it me or did she kind’ve walk in the oven?
She didn't want to trip over the ledge in the choreography.

The deaths of Mrs. Lovett and Todd were strangely anticlimactic. The pacing is really off. Plus I'm not a fan of the show's bizarre choreography.
Sameeeeee, they ruined the awesomeness that could be Sweeny Todd on board, I saw it and was shocked at how bad it was
Sweeney great here…Mrs Lovett. An amazing actress but miss casted here
the videos don’t do her justice. i was able to go see the show with this cast and she was amazing
FYI, casted isn't a word in theatre, and she was brilliant...this coming from someone who's not a Sutton fan. She was freaking brilliant.
