    I've always liked that line "I am the corner of every room" . As "the corner" is seen as a punishment and bad place to send people to. people don't know why it's bad but it's just a bad thing for some reason. Works great in this song. Gotta appreciate Till's poetic song writing

    Hey there! Thanks a lot for reacting to this video. This is one of my favorites. You've got the best reaction to it from all the other people that I've seen so far and for that you have my respect. As a gay man I find this song so meaningful and it's cool to see other people not freaking out just for a different form of art. It's Rammstein, they're fun and raw honest with all their art and points of view. Keep rocking and greetings from El Salvador!!!

    This song actually supports equality and gays rights in general. The fact that so many YT channels react in the exact opposite way and think the band disrespected homosexuals, is why a discussion about this topic is STILL very much needed nowadays. Happy to see you being open-minded! :)

    4:10 Yes you are correct, and you know why? Because the director of Paris is the director of Mann gegn Mann. Jonas Akerlund.
    This is a strong song, is about homophobia and how homosexuals are treated by society in Europe, the lyrics are direct and hard beacause that's how homosexuals are treated like I said.
    Fun fact: The lyrics, according to Richard , were presented to gay friends and communities prior to recording, to ensure that they did not contain offensive content.

    Personally I love the natural way that the band has always had to talk about homosexuality, without being a sermon they have simply led by example and I must tell you, that many fans even today are surprised and criticize the band for it, some They are even disappointed, they believe the role of rude boys and when they see them like this they feel that their idols fall 😂😂😂.

      They don´t want to be understood as political band, but on stage they often make clear statements on critical issues: th-cam.com/video/ycm45BQLJpg/w-d-xo.html - They did that in Russia too.

    So glad you didn't have the meltdown that some men have over this video. Seen some complaining that it should be naked women in it (which would defeat the object). I remember the first time my son saw this-"Mum, there's naked men on the television" "So there is" "OK". Deal with things sensibly and nobody loses the plot! I think Till dressed as some sort of demon signifies the way that homosexuals are often demonised or that his character in the video is the demon that fathers fear (as per the lyrics). Damn fine bodies on them all and obviously all men of character to do this. Kudos guys.

    My skin belongs to the gentleman is pretty crappy translated. Herr stands for Sir/Mr. as well as a man, as well as a Master of S|aves/servants or butlers as well as for the Lord/God. My skin belongs to the Lord/Man would be a better translation to point out the wordplay. I am the servant/s|ave of two masters/men .. in the same way. This is even deeper as you should not have any other gods besides the Lord as well as hom0xxuality is a still a sin in the believe of the catho|ic church, but what if you are born gai but still are re|igious, it points out the dilemma.

    The translation is not entirely correct. What Till is screaming translates into gay. He screams "Gaaaay".
    What has been translated is a more derogatory word for gay people. But this word that has been translated here is not used in the song.

    • @educatedmarine
      @educatedmarine 3 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Hi Coyote! I made the decision to use the word I did due to the writing used in the official booklet for the song in the Rosenrot cd. The lyrics state that the word "Schwulah" is used which is a negative slang word for gay people. Of course its based on the German word for "gay man" which is Schwuler. I simply chose the slang that I found most fitting with the themes of the song. I apologise if you believe it should be something different as I also debated which term to use

    • @elide_mc_fly9601
      @elide_mc_fly9601 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I believe that it is the correct word, indeed it is a derogatory word to refer to homosexual people, here in Mexico it would be "Marica" its equivalent 🤭

    • @sanni4368
      @sanni4368 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Coyote! The word is definitely the right one. It makes me proud. If the gays (and yes, I include myself in that bunch for being bi) want to reclaim words like queer and faggot from the people who have used them to put us down, you cannot stop me. Derogatory? Only if we let the words hurt us.

    • @TomTomson81
      @TomTomson81 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@sanni4368 Sorry, but I'm German and if Rammstein had wanted to use the German word for faggot, they would have done that too. Especially since both words sound similar in German. But this one it's definitely more derogatory than the word they used. The German word for faggot would have fit into the song as well as the German word for Gay. But they used gay and not faggot.

      @@TomTomson81 I am sorry too, but you can understand why issues like these get under my skin. All good, I admit I don't know much German. But I will say that for me, "faggot" makes more sense there than "gay", it hits you differently if you know what I mean.
