I’m not Jewish, I’m a Latino but thank you so much guys for creating Living Lchaim and providing wisdom, knowledge, and insight that will echo for generations! You have a subscriber for life here.
The convo regarding the various masks we wear was very insightful. Especially around the 19:00 mark mentioning the mask of pursuing money/career. Really thought-provoking and helps to put things in perspective. I also want to say that I'm not sure why these videos started being recommended to me, but I'm glad that they were. I've no ties with the Jewish community, but I'm finding these conversations super insightful.
15:20 origins of Shame … I’m leaving this comment to come back to it. Interesting stuff 17:00 our masks? 20:00 how to explore our masks 22:20 how protect our kids as parents? 28:00 how our shame affects our parenting 30:00 helping children identify shame 31:30 mindfulness and levels of 37:00 God-like response to responsibility when dealing with shame 38:30 best antidote is freely and openly talking to a truly empathetic person (therapist) 41:00 shame and how to help in younger kids 52:00 message to kids, failure, life, and “getting up again” in life
I'd like to see a conversation with this guest and Dr. Josef Nicoloso Jr or even an episode on this show as an interview 9r discussion Dr. Nicolosi Jr. on his own.
Talking about shame, how does one face humiliation and shame in early childhood and had to overcome obstacles that generated great strength because they faced shame early on in life head on. And now as an adult looks at shame in a very different way than the academic sense?
Seems like matters of the mind heart , heart only knows what feels to be true while the mind is capable of knowing truth. Shame's idea of right vs wrong is not necessarily what's culturally acceptable.
