@klyria 7 The tigers roar is more suitable for movies, because it's hard to record properly the lions roar. It's so deep, most devices just can't give it back.

@klyria 7 Lions can roar much scarier than Tigers too. This Audio is the scariest Roar I've ever heard from a Predator and its a Lion Attack Roar.
th-cam.com/video/Pm9QyEL1zC8/w-d-xo.html its not about living in savannah with a pride, there are Lions living in Jungles,Snowy areas and Savannah. They're everywhere
We can hear Lion roar from 8 km away because Lion roar is more powerfull, louder and deeper. It gives goosebumps and you can even feel the vibrations in your body when a Lion Roars, thats true Power.

@klyria 7 In Lion King they used sounds from Jaguars,Leopards,Mountain Lions and Tigers. They are all mixed. But in Gladiator Movie they used Lion vocals in Tigers.

Maryxmallow Studio Maryxmallow Studio the ending roar in lion king is lions. The roars and growls in the fight against scar were lions and most of the roars in lion king 2 were lions. Everything else is tiger mixed with a bear growl.
A tigers roar is awesome. Don’t get me wrong. It’s Cool. But listen to the lions roar at 2:00 is that not beautiful. Although it doesn’t scare us humans it’s MUCH more effective against animals more than a tigers. A tigers roar scares animals but a lions Roar is heard from miles warning and making other animals think twice before intruding his territory.

As someone who lives in a country with a population of roaming freely in national parks, the craziest thing about these roars is that they are heard from multiple kilometers away. They are so loud and they carry so well that even though it might sound like a lion is close to you, it's actually quite far away. But the most terrifying is waking up to this in the middle of the night while camping in the wilderness

Facts, i live in South Africa(i'm guessing you also live in SA?)
I've camped in the wilderness before and hearing those roars at the dead of night when it's pitch black out is bone chilling, also the Elephant Trumpets in the distance, but we know they're always far away, but those Hyena laughs are what really puts the fear in me, because when you hear them laughing, it means they're close by somewhere and they're always investigating.
The scariest however was hearing an animal crying out in the distance, it was obviously being killed by Hyenas, because you could hear them with those annoying laughs.

I've seen an adult male lion more closely than most, in a zoo in India, at the time it was being fed. It was literally four feet away, behind thick steel bars. And let me tell you, the roar is absolutely incredible from up close. Your earphones do it no justice at all. In real life, it literally shakes you. It is incomprehensibly loud.

      Matthew 16:26 KJV
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
Are you saved? If not, "REPENT YE, AND BELIEVE THE GOSPEL."
THE GOSPEL (which means the Good News) is the news that God Almighty, the Creator came in the flesh as Jesus Christ to take away the sin of the world. He gave up his own life to save ours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for our redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him.
      John 1:1,14
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD. [14] And THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH, and dwelt among us,
      Isaiah 9:6
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty GOD, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
      John 1:10 KJV
He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and THE WORLD KNEW HIM NOT.
      John 20:28-29 KJV
And Thomas answered and said unto him, MY LORD AND MY GOD. [29] Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
Are you saved friend? If you died tonight will you go to heaven or hell?
      Acts 16:30-31 KJV
...what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
      1 John 1:8-10
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. [10] If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
      Luke 24:47
And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
      Acts 4:12
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

I have heard the distant roaring of the Lions and if you are out in the open and its dark night when you hear the lion, it's insane how your insides tighten up and your throat will constrict. That is enough to make you freeze and turn silent even if you were laughing your head off a minute ago. After I had this experience, I can say any and all horror movies you can think of, would never compare to hearing a Lion roar less 100 meters away from you while you are alone and it's dark.
Oh, and I live in New York and I used to walk past the zoo.

In case you've never heard a lion roar in real life, it's actually scary because not only do you hear it, you FEEL it. Physically with your body. Every time you approach the lion exhibit at the Bronx Zoo and one of them roars, you can feel the vibration beneath your feet as you are hearing the sound. Same thing with driving through the safari at Six Flags in New Jersey. You can be a mile away from the lions when they roar but the car still shakes and you can damn well hear it.

I've been infront of lions multiple times (I've even touched them), but never without 1 or 2 gates in-between me and the lion/s
I'm just saying that I personally do not find their roars scary
It would've been scary If I were attacked by a lion, but as long as there's a fence...
      It's fine
It could be that I'm just used to their roars...
It still feels great to hear one roar directly infront of you, you can feel it, but the roar itself isn't what's really scary. I think the only thing that's scary is that the animal making that sound is dangerous
other than that, I think their roars are amazing and cute

Was at a zoo today, and this male lion starting making this low, rumbling roar similar to some of the ones in this video, and let me just say this..
On video it doesn't even do remote justice to what it's like in person.
Like, I could physically FEEL the vibrations through my body, and I genuinely felt intimidated on a primal level. Every natural instinct and sensation within me was telling me to escape, that this was a dangerous animal that belonged at the top of the food chain, and you did not want to be on the receiving end of it's wrath.
This is truly the spine-tingling call of an apex predator.

The first time I heard a lion roar in real life at a zoo, I was surprised at how different it sounded from the movies and TV. Usually in the media they just dub in a tiger roaring or another similar big cat, even the MGM lions. But I do recall hearing actual lion roars like those used for dinosaurs!

I remember when our zoo got a new lion, they put him in a glass enclosure that they usually use for injured big cats (like when our unfortunate panther was dying of cancer) so that he could get better acclimated. Sometimes he would put his paws up on the glass and roar if you stood in the doorway, which was barricaded for his sake. You’ve never heard a lion roar until you’ve heard a scared lion roar.
He’s still at the zoo and has a mate. They’re the only big cats left here, unfortunately.

I heard lions roar for the first time at a zoo. It was so loud, me and my bf couldn’t tell if it was a loudspeaker they were playing roaring sounds from or if it was real. You just will not understand until you hear in person. It’s like you felt it internally. I think the whole zoo heard. Everyone starting just flocking towards the exhibit to see what was happening
