@klyria 7 In Lion King they used sounds from Jaguars,Leopards,Mountain Lions and Tigers. They are all mixed. But in Gladiator Movie they used Lion vocals in Tigers.
Maryxmallow Studio Maryxmallow Studio the ending roar in lion king is lions. The roars and growls in the fight against scar were lions and most of the roars in lion king 2 were lions. Everything else is tiger mixed with a bear growl. A tigers roar is awesome. Don’t get me wrong. It’s Cool. But listen to the lions roar at 2:00 is that not beautiful. Although it doesn’t scare us humans it’s MUCH more effective against animals more than a tigers. A tigers roar scares animals but a lions Roar is heard from miles warning and making other animals think twice before intruding his territory.

I used to live 3 blocks from a zoo. I could hear the male lion every morning and night…in his night quarters… roaring. Always brought a smile to my face. Amazing and beautiful animals.
I've seen an adult male lion more closely than most, in a zoo in India, at the time it was being fed. It was literally four feet away, behind thick steel bars. And let me tell you, the roar is absolutely incredible from up close. Your earphones do it no justice at all. In real life, it literally shakes you. It is incomprehensibly loud.
Me too I went emidiately out of the zoo in my country when the lions they 12 lions and all start roaring at the same time. Soooo scary and unbelievably loud
i think thats because of its pitch and the size of the lion. I mean, those lions are not roaring at maximum intensity you know, for them its the equivalent of a human doing a "uurghhhh" or something. Like, if that lion was a human, it would be a normal intensity sound. But because the lion is so big and has a deep voice, its normal, low-medium intensity roars do have a very high volume. Then, when you see it on the internet, you hear it at a much more normal intensity than it actually was, i think thats why, we just perceive the roars as medium intensity and extrapolate to human experience because, well... we are human
As someone who lives in a country with a population of roaming freely in national parks, the craziest thing about these roars is that they are heard from multiple kilometers away. They are so loud and they carry so well that even though it might sound like a lion is close to you, it's actually quite far away. But the most terrifying is waking up to this in the middle of the night while camping in the wilderness
Facts, i live in South Africa(i'm guessing you also live in SA?) I've camped in the wilderness before and hearing those roars at the dead of night when it's pitch black out is bone chilling, also the Elephant Trumpets in the distance, but we know they're always far away, but those Hyena laughs are what really puts the fear in me, because when you hear them laughing, it means they're close by somewhere and they're always investigating. The scariest however was hearing an animal crying out in the distance, it was obviously being killed by Hyenas, because you could hear them with those annoying laughs.
Lions can also make scary sounds like tigers while threatening or fighting. The sounds they make in this video are more of their own show of strength and to show who's the real boss.

the whole exchange at 0:44 is so funny to me. it’s like his buddy joins in but then he just keeps roaring and the first lion has to turn around and give him a “are you really still going” look
Yeah agreed, phones etc can’t match the sheer bass of a lion roar. First time I heard one I though that there must’ve been some huge subwoofer nearby but no, genuinely amazing
Used to live in Zimbabwe and every time we would go to a national park and stay a few nights youd be able to hear this. You couldn't see them and it was usually as the sun was going down or coming up but it was by far one of the most spectacular things ive ever experienced. I still think about hearing those roars echo over the savannah.
I took my sons to a zoo when they were young and we witnessed the lions roar. Nothing can compare to it. You feel it right to your bones. Even with a 4 metre fence between us I felt powerless as a father and my sons knew it. Respect these beautiful creatures they deserve it

I'll never forget a lion's roar bringing an entire rugby match to a brief halt in Regent's Park, London. The zoo must have been at least a kilometre away. 30 big, tough guys suddenly felt in their bones that they were in serious trouble.
Went to the zoo recently and saw a lion for the first time. He was sleeping when we were at his exhibit, but he must have woken up shortly after because I heard his roar from far away and was shocked by how loud it was and how far it carried (heard from across the entire zoo). He was a beautiful and majestic creature.
I also heard them a week ago and I've been fascinated hence I'm searching these expecting to hear the SaMe sound. I personally did not find it scary , I loved it !!😭❤

U mocked the lion and made him roar and conveniently no one decided to stop you from bothering the lion, Your Mom, fellow viewers, Security. Were they all asleep. And the lion roared majestically as well.😑😑

A tiger's roar: *Fear.*

Roar is nothing, the attitude is everything
Very cool in each other way
Tigers don’t roar they growl. Lions also growl & it’s just as menacing.
That's not a tiger roar, it's a growl. Lions do that too. Tiger roar sounds like an highly intensified version of a cat's purr.
Hearing this close by while camping in the wild is a completely different story
I can only imagine 😅
Oh hell Nah I thought lions were only native to Africa & certain places in Asia ? Where are they invasive ??

They’re majestic beasts! Truly earned the name king of the animals, with a roar like that!
I've only ever heard a lion roaring at the zoo but it was awe inspiring. The power in that roar, you can feel it in your bones.

You don't realize just how loud this is until you hear it in person. George the Lion let off a huge roar when I visited the Bronx Zoo in 2006 (apparently he really liked showing off to the crowd).
