Thanks for the video. I heard William Gibson on his reels state using the hardpark with the dluxfab knuckles he was able to get the best turning angle than from any combo. I bet that’s a pricey combo though lol
I like the DWS transmission, you should try yours. It gave me usable bump speed on 2S with a 2700kv Nano Beast and 14T. Now I have the new Nano Beast on it with an 11T since it's 3200kv. Best part is you don't get burned when you touch it if you want to run 3S unlike that old one lol.
what chassis is that? I have a build i want to do with the a carrier, but all the ones I find are out of stock or titanium. Id like one like your 3d printed one in that chassis.
@@joshsmith3280 this is the new prophet designs pro spec. It’s out of stock atm I believe but he usually has just the carrier bearing setup you can pick up for other builds if you’re looking for just that. I ordered one of those when I got this chassis for a future build. Looks like it may be sold out atm also 🤦🏻♂️ prophet-designs.com/124-carrier-bearing-
Very beautiful comp chassis.😍 It looks wide enough to place the motor lower, close to the exit shaft of the transmission. Strange they didn't do that. Some stuff somewhere around makes it impossible ?
I would use the ISO axles over LGRP all day long, especially as now LGRP use shop to check out so if your like me and live in the UK, 20% VAT is added on every order so there’s no getting away with it. I’ve made 6 or 7 orders from them and only been hit with VAT and customs once so since they’ve start to use shop I haven’t ordered from them. This makes the ISO’s a lot cheaper and there better imo anyway.
@@cols_bricks yeah I normally go ISOs on everything but with the hardlark axle being crazy wide I thought I’d use the rear super 8 to be somewhat as wide in the rear.
I definitely did not know they come with 1.4 mm screws and only two of them I definitely will be drilling them out and put 2 mm every knuckle I run has been drilled out put to 2 mm
My opinion is that it is not worth it. - skidplate off the hook, this would be a step backwards in terms of headroom. - Crown and pinion gears in module 0.3. I honestly prefer the 0.5 module, much easier to set up and maintain. In terms of torque, we are already doing well with Furitek to the point of breaking things if you are careless, you need more, really? - lower engine height? More than what the normal support offers? I doubt it, apart from the problem of seeing where the hell you mount the upper links if you lower the engine further. (Also, if they say that now the engine is going to go lower, why don't they put a flat skid in it?) - more positions for more engines... Yes and no. Let's see more positions for different crowns and Pinions, okay, but this doesn't have much influence on these little ones either, it's more the capacity of the combo you carry. Can you put any motor? No. It has to be the size of the microkomodo, in diameter, in length it can be longer. The Komodo type and the mini Komodo are left out. - Originally designed to mount the engine backwards to make room for the battery in front of the transmission. Can you rotate it? Yeah. But you already have to rack your brains like we do now to see how to organize everything. Something could have already been done is make it compatible with fusion-type combos that are coming to the market. - 80$!!!? Come on, I'll stay as I am.
👍👍 that’s gonna be awesome build Matt, I’ll just stick with the brass bulletproof transmissions from mofo. RC appreciate the video I watched for the next one until then peace and chicken grease😁👍👍👋👋😎
Maybe they are justified in pricing that high but regardless I just don't think the part itself is worth $80, $40 sounds reasonable though. I could easily see china taking rye opportunity to throw a copy out for somewhere around $30.
I really like this transmission but not at that price. IMO the scx24 is too antiquated to spend the amount of a whole new scx24 on just the trans. But great video as always!
Danngg 80 bucks.. mmm probably not!. Rather pick up another OD transmission or a LGRP trans instead! Lol But if I did yeah it would be a one time thing for sure but I have no need for one at this time.
Sick transmission, but the price is as bad as the $70 links a couple people are selling. IMO it should be half of that. Crazy that these trucks end up costing near the same as building a vrd carbon, if not more.
@@texavon6168 absolutely! I’ll make sure and hook you up with something for the trouble and i can definitely cover the shipping back at least. I tried to start a series a couple yrs ago doing this but no one took me up on it. I think they were scared I may break their build 😆
@@2fmrc Awesome, the rig is a Texoma RtR, it's going to 24Yep, then I'll see about sending it your way, what's the best way to contact you about shipping and such?
I wonder why they chose a "drop" skid. I hate to buy the most expensive high end stuff and then have to tinker around with these tiny parts to even be able to install it. But thank you this video kept me from buying it - i don't see any advantage, don't care about saving 10 gramms in that spot, doesnt matter in a 500 g rig. Also not in a 300 g.
Ain't it like 2.68 to 1 I will definitely be playing around with that spur gear because like I don't like mod 3 for one I really push it to the limit for two they're hard to get the gear mesh exactly perfect being the gears are so small mod 4 really ain't much better I have always ran mod 5 gearing
Give it's a small, if not micro, company, the cost of things these day, and being a metal fab'er, I don't think $80 is outta line. There's a lot of trial and error R&D that goes into something like that. Then all the programming and the machines to make it. And all that with zero guaranty of it paying for itself let alone making any profit. Plus the all to quick off-shore knock off that will kill you quick. If it wasn't for these little guys, China wouldn't be giving use much more than stock stuff in different colors, under different labels......
$80? F no! Could of designed on the computer and just cnc'd the parts. Nothing of that trans says $80 dollars. And machining the metal aluminum? 20 min at tops. Carbon machining 1 min. Gears, i don't know. But $80 F no.
I miss back when you were looking out for us instead of the suppliers. This shouldn't be recommended to anyone for $80, and if you were honest with yourself, you'd know that too.
Holy crap where did you get that from? Must have watched a different video than I did. Maybe I took it differently but he always seems to tell you the bad with the good. Definitely looks like a lot of work to get it where you need to work on atleast this build. Personally not gonna get one until I see how it really works compared to a standard tranny with metal gears.
@@grokfro I mean… I said that I purchased it once to try but I probably would never purchase it again AND that I felt it should be priced at half of what it is now.
