- Watch Mudcrabs hustle in clear water. This is NOT how you set a Crab trap, the use of flesh bait was deliberate to see how the fish and Crabs interacted and to see what species were attracted. Shot in QLD Australia in one of the many clear water creeks that Crabs inhabit.
Great video mate,, the buggers try every thing before they actually make the effort to push there way in ey.. 😊👌
woo, finally a gopro crab trap vid of samoan crabs! gonna make my own vid tomorrow!
The last crab was like 'its not fairly, I didn't even get a bite... :
They just rocked up within the first minute?
always thought the bigger/ legal size crabs had a hard time getting in these traps due to the small entry gap, just didnt know for sure. Now i do
my thoughts exactly
WOW - That is awesome footage. It's nice to see how Aussie crabs undertake a crab pot assault - quite interesting for me. Ya see this sort of thing from overseas but this is the first for me in Aus. Well done, thanks for posting..

What is the thing in the middle
RogueGamer 39 bait
Interesting.
Yum yum
Female muddies?
The claws seem rather small.
The video was about showing how Crabs enter, or at times, would rather fight with each other, than worry about food, as the video shows. Females are looking for food, males are looking to protect their food. There are a number of Bucks that are under the trap also.
... ITS A TRAP
you have no idea about the ratio. mud crabs don't grow much bigger :\ do your research before you open your mouth.
So fish eat fish...hmmm
