Even though I've watched so many of your videos, I still watch the beginner ones because sometimes you remind me of things. I have some limp leaves, even though I thought I watered enough so I'm going to try a short soak and re-watch the video called "Leaves Tell a Story"
Hi Danni After watching your video, I decided to report my phase orchid I had received as a gift. It was in bloom with some blooms yet to open but the pot was packed with moss. I can happily report after reporting I have not lost any blooms.
Thanks as always Danny! Another great video. This video made me realize that I may be over watering my phalaenopsis's. Even though they are doing well (I now have 6 but none are in bloom at the moment), I do not want to run into problems, like I have in the past, by over watering my orchids.
Thanks for the video Danny~ I always look forward to hearing from you! Every single orchid I've tried to raise so far seems to get mold and die, even after trying to soak with hydrogen peroxide and repotting them. I'm happy you did a video on this recently, I hope to be able to keep one alive someday soon. I think this is a ventilation issue which is annoying because I have them in a proper pot with holes. I appreciate you reminding us that everyone has failures while learning (btw how is your phal. mini mark doing???? Its my favorite orchid in your collection!!! The flowers remind me of tiny little lanterns floating)
Thank you for all these very helpful videos! I recently received 2 orchids as gifts and, as a beginner with no knowledge of orchids, I made quite a few mistakes. So these videos have been helping out a lot! I've noticed something strange with them today and don't know what to do. At first I thought it was mold but my partner thinks its lichen growing on the roots and the barks. Would you be able to advise me?
Hi Danni, Can you explain 'the watering' for your new Zygopetalum 'potting soil'? This may be a dumb question, but, after you have your Zygos in this "potting soil", do you wait for the soil to be dry before watering, or when? I just am worried because it's a different media..
Thank you so much for your videos. They have been so helpful. Now thatI know how to properly water my seven orchids, I still have a question. My orchids area year + old and yet, no spikes. They have healthily green leaves, they are in aerated pots, in bark medium. I feed them monthly and they keep giving me new leaves but no spikes. What am I doing wrong? I keep the temperature around 76 degrees year round and they are in indirect light. Any help you can give would be great.
Hey Dani! I wasn’t sure which video I should post this question on so I hope this reaches you. So I know phalaenopsis roots have a silvery protective sheen on them - one of mine has one with an iridescent rainbow sheen, it’s really beautiful! I can’t find anything on google so I wondered if you know anything about it and if it means anything? The root looks really healthy which is a nice surprise because it’s a discount supermarket orchid with a severe fungal infection but I think it’s recovering nicely. Thanks 😊
Thank you for all information. I have a phanaelopisis orchid. I got it February and had flowers. No more flowers now but the problem is the leaves are so stiff and one of them break into half in the middle. What is the Reason for that?? I didn’t report it!!
Hi Danni, I have a question... I have an orchid phalaenopsis and when I changed the medium looked at it 4 days after and saw that there was mold on the roots ,so I cleaned it and and realized that all the roots that was left died. I have seen some youtube where they put it in a container with moss and cover ,so I did it and the next day saw it was getting mold . What can I do ,please help me ! The leaves of the orchid looks very healthy and I can't throw it out . Thank u
Great video, Dani, very compehensive. Do you still grow your Miltonia regnerii? I'm curious on how you care for it, most growers focus on Miltoniopsis, and little info is found on Miltonia.
Danny, i never sow my phal growing a new root, they freeze, can the lux be the problem ? In my room i have 100-300 lux, i sow somewhere on the internet that they need to have 10000-15000 lux for at least 12h, i'm thinking to buy a complete spectrum led lamp to see if i can change something.
Thank you this helped me I have an orchid I bought from home depot for some reason 😂 and I noticed at at the very bottom of the flower spike an the leaves were turning brown and yellow a few days after I got it and I watched your videos and looked at the roots and let's just say they weren't roots anymore. 🤢 So I put it in good potting mix it was still dying so I put it in water for some reason and it grew roots it's down to it's last leave and it is it's oldest leave but it is a healthy dark green. I keep trying to put it in soil but it likes the water and I think it wants to stay. It has three new roots about 1 inch long. I think it's going to live. It kinda looks like a keiki but in water with a mature size leaf. 😂 Have any suggestions?
I have a question... did ur orchid not have any roots at all? I have one like that and don't want to throw it out ,I need help . Should I put it in water just the bottom? Thank u
Recently discovered your channel, it's very informative, thank you so much. I been reporting and trying to ”fix” my orchids at home. One question I just run into while repotting is that the root my of my old orchid is black is some parts, it feels stiff, but it has black parts, is that okay?
I ordered the potting mix that you recommended from repotme. I followed instructions and since that very day I have had little bugs jumping and flying around the room I re-pot in and where I keep my orchid.... In my bedroom! It's been three days and they're driving me insane and probably infesting my other plants. I don't want to remove my plants from the bedroom because I don't want to contaminate the rest of the plants and house with these things. What do I do? Repotme says they don't have bugs. They lie. Funny that my old potting bark from when I first got the orchid doesn't have these bugs. I still have it but there's nothing there. I put it in the garage to go to the compost later. Looked with a magnifying glass all through it. No bugs in the old stuff. I'm feeling pretty angry because I never had bugs before.
Hi, what you have are fungus gnats and are common for anyone growing plants, we all have them. Here's a video from many years ago, before working with them th-cam.com/video/owjM5eEVnfg/w-d-xo.html I highly doubt they came with the orchid medium, since they thrive in soils and wet potting mixes, but if you feel strongly about it, shoot an email to customer support! Good luck!
Hi Danny, thx much for this video...i'm going to be that guy...i have a question that i've been dying to ask...seems like this vid might be a good ice breaker for the topic. I have conditions of the typical window sill. Phals do great. Other than Paphs...are there other orchid species that you recommend for the same conditions? I know there are other variables like medium and water schedule, but based on light and temps...are there others you think might do well where Phals are thriving? thx much
Hi, yeah there are quite a few! Look into Paphiopedilums, Bulbophyllums, Jewel Orchids and summer blooming species Phalaenopsis, which are quite different ☺️
I've got two orchids that suffered from root rot, so they are quite dehydrated still, while recovering and growing new leaves. The new leaves' tips split. Is it because of the dehydration problem?
Y should repot your orchid and remove the rotten roots, the leaves make sure they are getting the right amount of light and also make sure your not overwatering your orchid, if you plant is on bark water it once per week but if it’s on moss every two weeks, make sure to check the media if its dry in the top then is time to water it. Do not over water so you will have root issues.

All of my questions from my last 3 orchid failures were answered in this one video 😊 Thank you MissOrchidGirl!

My pleasure 😉
Thank you very much for sharing..Watching from Canada 🇨🇦👍🥰

Hydrogen peroxide can be really strong on the roots so I wouldn't use it too much. I have found it harmful.
I love your videos, always full of good information. Thank you.
As usual, very informative. Pete from Canada
Great video, thanks Danni! 😍

Have you tried lowering their temperatures for 2 weeks and then returning them to their norm? That might help.
Are they phalaenopsis? X

Have you ever experimented with biodynamic, organic, all natural, or DIY fertilizers??
Dani, the leaves of your orchids are all shiny. What is your ways of maintaining the nice look of your orchids?
Hi, do you interest in plant indoor with led grow light? If yes, please let me know.
Great video, Dani, very compehensive.
Do you still grow your Miltonia regnerii?
I'm curious on how you care for it, most growers focus on Miltoniopsis, and little info is found on Miltonia.
Thanks for the videos. What is the orchid from question 4?
Phalaenopsis Yang Yang Blueberry Indigo!
Yay, my comment made it into the video -haha! ^-^ Great video, perfect for referring beginners to as a starting point for learning more!

Can you plant multiple orchids in one pot to create a very large expensive looking centerpiece? Can they stay healthy like this?
Recently discovered your channel, it's very informative, thank you so much. I been reporting and trying to ”fix” my orchids at home. One question I just run into while repotting is that the root my of my old orchid is black is some parts, it feels stiff, but it has black parts, is that okay?
Should be as long as it isn't mushy or papery. Roots can be weird cold at times but if they are firm that's good.
Good job 👍👍👏👏🙏🙏
I badly need ur help...i found some "sooty mold" on my phal leaves. What should i do? Pls help! Tnx for ur videos...so informative.
nice review !
