Becket you were so blessed to have a praying mother who believe that Jesus can deliver and keep you. Not everyone have that blessing so keep praying that God will keep your generations to come. This gives me hope because I pray every day for my Son and Son in law to come to salvation through Christ. They are not gay but they are agnostic and it weighs on my heart everyday.
Our son’s announcement at 18 drove my wife and me to our knees. We used James Bank’s prayer book “Prayers for Prodigals” to launch into prayer each day together, we made sure to take our son to lunch or dinner each week and we loved on him and did not discuss his lifestyle, we tried to love his boyfriends and treat them well. After 10 years God answered our prayers and he was radically saved, and I mean a complete and total transformation! He said he could never marry a woman, but 1.5 years ago he married a very Godly woman and they are both so in love! Don’t give up parents-pray! Thank you Beckett-this was wonderful!

What a miracle God did in giving you the victory to honor and obey Him. You are saved or you would not have had the strength to obey him and turn your Back on sin. Confess that His son Jesus came to pay for your sins on the cross (paid our penalty). Thank Jesus and ask Him to come into your heart (You ARE Born Again). Revelation says Behold I stand at the Door (your heart) and WILL come in and sup with Him () (live with you here ) and he with me (when you go to eternity you will go with him to Heaven). I think there is a great deal of tenderness and love in these people for their LGBT children. And someone praying in their prayer closet doesn't teach a child to hate themself. No one should hate themselves. We are all sinners. But it doesn't mean to hate ourselves. How can we justly ever hate a person God loves? If God, who is all-supreme and all-holy, Himself doesn't hate sinners (us all), how could any of us ever be right to hate ourselves? Are we more righteous than God, that we can hate ourselves? Our child identifies as a polyamorous, pansexual trans person. Has had surgery, hormones, and has three "amours". He lives with two roommates, one of whom is one of his beloveds and who themselves has 3 lovers, including the 3rd roommate. Our child was in a costly out-of-state college when he came out to us. We continued to love him without a single break in the flow of love. We continued our support through college and traveled to be with him at the time of his surgery, not because it was easy for us nor because we agreed with it, but because he was OUR CHILD, we loved him, and we needed to be there for a scary time in his life and one which could even take his life. (As any major surgery can do.) We've been steadily expressing, expressing, expressing the love, and he is starting to see that his lovers' love isn't "all that". That the one he lives with and another one, they don't *really* love him, not like we do. This isn't because of any criticisms we have made, but because he's looking at us and our constant flow of love and at them and their non-constant flow. We have not preached at all. He knows what we believe. But he knows we adore and cherish him and would give our lives for him or go fight off a dragon or whatever we might be called upon to do for him. I'm sorry if your family has mistreated you since your coming-out. You didn't deserve that. But please know - there are Christian parents who are loving, praying quietly, and loving some more, without making their child feel like a disappointment. We choose to focus upon all the many wonderful things about our son and with prayer, allow God to deal with whatever needs dealing with. As we need to do with regard to whatever in *us* needs God to deal with. We've all sinned and come short of the glory of God. God bless you. Please love yourself. You are beautiful and you are wonderful and no one should be diminishing you! But people can and should pray for us if we are in a besetting sin even while they love us.

Scripture backs this up...Once you are In Christ, you are a NEW creation. Beckett once shared that he still had same sex attraction and I do too, at times. Sometimes they are strong, sometimes faint, sometimes not there at all. Just keep walking. Mine are not as strong as they used to be. My sister's daughter was raped in her teens and a door was opened into the gay lifestyle. My sister passed and I've taken up the prayer mantle for my niece believing she will absolutely be restored to the Lord. My niece was an amazing prayer warrior from an early age. My son Greg is gay, I have prayed since he told me many yrs, ago. He and his partner bought a house, they are not married. This has been such a heavy burden on me, I am a widow. This letter encouraged me a lot as Greg is 44 and been in this lifestyle all his life since he told me at age 18. I will be praying this prayer. We are very close and I am thankful for that. I have been praying for my son and other friends who have lost their kids to lgbtq identity. My prayer has become more urgent lately because my son is getting married March 25th, in 2 months. Right before seeing this video, I felt the Lord asking me to write to my prayer warrior friends and family and ask them to pray for 60 days up to my sons wedding, to thwart his plans for marriage and to return him to the Lord. I believe God can do that if He chooses. I will trust Him no matter if He does that or not. This was the most encouraging video of Beckett's for me! Praise God for his testimony!
I just met you with this video. My son is gay and living in NYC. He went to Christian school for the first 12 years of his life and professed faith in Jesus Christ. When he was a teenager, the entire family realized he identified as gay. It was never an out-loud issue as he became an adult, we all just love him so much. He knows I pray for him constantly. Up until now, I really haven’t had much faith but now I’m going to double down on those prayers with FAITH! Praise God I found this video. Yes…lots of crying here. Thank you for this video.
It is so beautiful to see the faithfulness of God. One week ago today, a young fellow (26), like a son to my husband and I, was struck and killed by a speeding driver who had struck (but not killed) a pedestrian in the past. Our daughter went to see him in the morgue last night. His funeral in on Saturday. Just the week before, he had told his Grandma that he was tired of living now-and-again for God. He said, “I want to go for God 100%”. He was just returning on foot with some groceries. He is with Jesus now. The Lord will sustain our daughter (his very best friend), the family and all of us (he lived with us for years). I was his second mom. I’ve wailed and wept these past days and yet I have come to the place to see that Jesus is Faithful Love. HE has our Sam with Him in Heaven. It’s time for the rest of us to continue to live 100% for God. I will continue to pray for my dear children who are not following Jesus and those who are (I have six biological and one adopted son with special needs). Thank you for reminding us that the Lord hears the prayers of mothers. There was a rainbow outside my door in our winter sky this morning.

Thank you Becket. I’ve been praying for my sons and husband to be broken from spirit of addiction for years and there has been miracles. My sons are alive! One son sober from drugs and alcohol 18 months, other son from pain pills 15 months and my husband is 2 months sober from alcohol! Asking for prayers for marriage to be restored and salvation for my 5 children. I’m going to the throne daily!
I prayed for my daughter to turn from the lgbt lifestyle a number of years, but when I finally surrendered her to the Lord and told Him I would accept and even love the woman she was involved with, God took her out of the relationship and she met someone who became her husband. They now have a one year old daughter. I think the key is surrendering it all to the Lord.

Becket, thank you so much for sharing this. It has inspired me to write a prayer for my son. It’s been almost 2 years since I’ve seen him or talked to him. I never stopped loving him. He married a man and I went to his wedding because I didn’t want him to be alone with no family there. His father could not bear to go. Our son changed his name, phone number & job. I have no way to get ahold of him. I miss him so much. He has a lot of anger and has cut us out of his life. We were always so close, but he’s very deceived. I love him so much, I pray my prodigal son comes home soon. Thank you for giving me hope.
This is what is happening with my husband and me. We went to our daughter’s wedding three years ago and it was so difficult. It shows on our faces in the photos and now she is accusing us of choosing intolerance over love and shutting the door on us to “protect themselves “.

My relationship with God has waned since my son came out. I feel so devastated because I raised him in the church but as a single mom, I couldn’t fill the role his father abandoned. My older sister told me she was trans one day and asked me if I still loved her. I told her that I still love her but I don't accept her lifestyle. I've been praying for her ever since. I don't know if she still thinks she's trans or not, since we don't talk about it. We rarely talk, outside of me sending her Bible verses because she asked me to, since she has been reading the Bible. But she is always in my thoughts and prayers and I'm always praying for God to change her heart about this sort of thing.
Why cut off relations with your sister. True love means loving EVERY part of a person. She needs your TRUE acceptance and love (not the false love/condemnation/Bible beating) you claim to be love. Pray, please! If the only contact you have is to quote scripture at her she will never listen. She needs to feel the UNCONDITIONAL love of Jesus. That love CAN change hearts. I can’t speak for the trans community but I was save at the tender age of 5, my father was a Pastor and my Mom is a prayer WARRIOR!!! but I am now 45 years old, I have never kissed or been kissed, I’ve been in love but have NEVER had that love returned and I am still a 45 year old virgin. We pray as a family twice daily and I have prayed 20-30 per day for God to change me and while he has performed miracles in my life, he has NEVER changed this part of me. I pray for a wife and kids and dreamt of nothing else my entire life. Imagine becoming sexually attracted to you same sex best friend and having relations with him/her. That’s how IMPOSSIBLE it is for me to suddenly become attracted to women. This started in the 5th grade and for 34 years we all continue to pray and although I have stayed pure, abstinent and more lonely and rejected you could ever know I stay faithful. The truth is I will die completely alone and once my parents are gone staying alive each day will be the most difficult thing to do. Making it sound like “magic” is like a punch in the gut to those whom Christ does not change. Much love to those struggling. Please understand that there are so many wonderful things about you in addition to one’s gender or sexuality. The church has failed this community UTTERLY. If you have accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior he will give you the ability to love people and to be an example to those who are struggling!

This is so encouraging. I am praying for my niece who is 17 and has renounced her Christianity and says she is pansexual and involved in paganism. But I know my God can do more than we can ask or think. I now drive around her house and pray, and take her for coffee every week to keep the relationship going.
Your mom showed you what a Christian really was -- and didn't just talk about it. Her faith was real and not dead. She showed you her faith by her works. My mom did the same thing with me. I lived as a lesbian for 20+ years. My mom never preached to me about my homosexuality. She invited my partners for the holidays, etc. and treated them with kindness. I also knew what she believed, that homosexuality was a sin.............and I knew it was true too. Finally, in December of 2002, I was saved. My mom was happy for me. But, like your mom, she didn't seem surprised. She told me a few years later that she never stopped praying for me. PTL! My mom is 86 years young and still alive. We have a great relationship. I love talking to her about the Lord and the Word. God bless you. P.S. The Lord gave me a heart of flesh and I adopted two children in 2011. No husband (yet) but you never know. I now lead a Bible study out of my home.

In my case this is an encouragment to pray for my parents. They aren't part of the LGBT, but they are un-believers. It can be hard as a Christian to have unbelieving parents and family members. But I don't want to give up hope. I am 19 and have been Christian for three years. Also italian and here the catholic curch is prevalent; thank God He saved me from that too.

I've been praying for him all his life, but intensely for his life for 10 years. I haven't seen any breakthrough yet. I'm just praying that he won't hurt himself. Yes and prayers are answered even after death because God promises in Isaiah 55:11 “my word that comes from my mouth will not return to me empty, but it will accomplish what I please and will prosper in what I send it to do.” We are praying the words from His mouth when we quote scripture! Even when we die, prayers are on His time table, not outs. My gran passed in 2006. Her prayers are still being answered!!!!! She ultimately will be rewarded for all that her prayers accomplished, even the ones after she passed!

I prayed for my granddaughter who said she was a lesbian and had a relationship with a girl. My granddaughter was 17 at the time. I prayed for her to change her ways and not be gay all the time. She met a man almost 9 years ago and thank God! She is married to him and she has two boys, my great grand sons!! I’m thankful to God for being there and answered my prayer. She has never showed any interest in women since. I babysit for her and see her almost everyday. She loves her husband and is great mother. I love them all very much.

Becket, I wrestle with how to treat my daughter's "friend" without appearing like I'm accepting of the relationship or compromising my faith. I don' t know how to handle it. This video is very helpful. I'm so devastated over her decision. I have many moments of depression and grieve constantly over this. But God! She never said it out loud or even mentioned to me that she was praying for my salvation from homosexuality. She showed my two or three gay friends much love and never made them feel uncomfortable around her. I lost my mother in 2019 and before she died, I fell into a deep in dark depression I didn’t know could ever happen to me. I remembered all the times over the mini years when she would tell me that I should never love her more than I love Jesus Christ. So, I called out to the Lord and, as always, He made away for me. Well, i don’t have any adult children right now, my daughter is 3 and half years old. But, this has made me realize that it’s never “too early” to start praying for your children. I’m going to start writing my prayers for her, praying for protection over her, that we would guide her with wisdom, and that she would accept Jesus as her Savior and live her life for Christ. So many parts of the letter had me tearing up. But the one part of the letter that really hit me was the part where you mother prayed for grace to love you and your friends. This gives me hope because I pray every day for my Son and Son in law to come to salvation through Christ. They are not gay but they are agnostic and it weighs on my heart everyday.
Our son’s announcement at 18 drove my wife and me to our knees. We used James Bank’s prayer book “Prayers for Prodigals” to launch into prayer each day together, we made sure to take our son to lunch or dinner each week and we loved on him and did not discuss his lifestyle, we tried to love his boyfriends and treat them well. After 10 years God answered our prayers and he was radically saved, and I mean a complete and total transformation! He said he could never marry a woman, but 1.5 years ago he married a very Godly woman and they are both so in love! Don’t give up parents-pray! Thank you Beckett-this was wonderful!

How can we justly ever hate a person God loves? If God, who is all-supreme and all-holy, Himself doesn't hate sinners (us all), how could any of us ever be right to hate ourselves? Our child identifies as a polyamorous, pansexual trans person. Has had surgery, hormones, and has three "amours". He lives with two roommates, one of whom is one of his beloveds and who themselves has 3 lovers, including the 3rd roommate.
Our child was in a costly out-of-state college when he came out to us. We continued to love him without a single break in the flow of love. We continued our support through college and traveled to be with him at the time of his surgery, not because it was easy for us nor because we agreed with it, but because he was OUR CHILD, we loved him, and we needed to be there for a scary time in his life and one which could even take his life. (As any major surgery can do.) We've been steadily expressing, expressing, expressing the love, and he is starting to see that his lovers' love isn't "all that". That the one he lives with and another one, they don't *really* love him, not like we do. This isn't because of any criticisms we have made, but because he's looking at us and our constant flow of love and at them and their non-constant flow.
We have not preached at all. He knows what we believe. But he knows we adore and cherish him and would give our lives for him or go fight off a dragon or whatever we might be called upon to do for him.
I'm sorry if your family has mistreated you since your coming-out. You didn't deserve that. But please know - there are Christian parents who are loving, praying quietly, and loving some more, without making their child feel like a disappointment. We choose to focus upon all the many wonderful things about our son and with prayer, allow God to deal with whatever needs dealing with. As we need to do with regard to whatever in *us* needs God to deal with. We've all sinned and come short of the glory of God.
God bless you. Please love yourself. You are beautiful and you are wonderful and no one should be diminishing you! But people can and should pray for us if we are in a besetting sin even while they love us.

Scripture backs this up...Once you are In Christ, you are a NEW creation. Beckett once shared that he still had same sex attraction and I do too, at times. My son Greg is gay, I have prayed since he told me many yrs, ago. He and his partner bought a house, they are not married. This has been such a heavy burden on me, I am a widow. I have been praying for my son and other friends who have lost their kids to lgbtq identity. My prayer has become more urgent lately because my son is getting married March 25th, in 2 months. Right before seeing this video, I felt the Lord asking me to write to my prayer warrior friends and family and ask them to pray for 60 days up to my sons wedding, to thwart his plans for marriage and to return him to the Lord. I believe God can do that if He chooses. I will trust Him no matter if He does that or not.

I just met you with this video. My son is gay and living in NYC. He went to Christian school for the first 12 years of his life and professed faith in Jesus Christ. When he was a teenager, the entire family realized he identified as gay. It was never an out-loud issue as he became an adult, we all just love him so much. He knows I pray for him constantly. It is so beautiful to see the faithfulness of God. One week ago today, a young fellow (26), like a son to my husband and I, was struck and killed by a speeding driver who had struck (but not killed) a pedestrian in the past. Our daughter went to see him in the morgue last night. His funeral in on Saturday. Just the week before, he had told his Grandma that he was tired of living now-and-again for God. He said, “I want to go for God 100%”. He was just returning on foot with some groceries. He is with Jesus now. The Lord will sustain our daughter (his very best friend), the family and all of us (he lived with us for years). I was his second mom. I’ve wailed and wept these past days and yet I have come to the place to see that Jesus is Faithful Love. HE has our Sam with Him in Heaven. It’s time for the rest of us to continue to live 100% for God. I will continue to pray for my dear children who are not following Jesus and those who are (I have six biological and one adopted son with special needs). Thank you for reminding us that the Lord hears the prayers of mothers. There was a rainbow outside my door in our winter sky this morning.

Becket, thank you so much for sharing this. It has inspired me to write a prayer for my son. It’s been almost 2 years since I’ve seen him or talked to him. I never stopped loving him. He married a man and I went to his wedding because I didn’t want him to be alone with no family there. His father could not bear to go. Our son changed his name, phone number & job. I have no way to get ahold of him. I miss him so much. He has a lot of anger and has cut us out of his life. We were always so close, but he’s very deceived. This is what is happening with my husband and me. We went to our daughter’s wedding three years ago and it was so difficult. It shows on our faces in the photos and now she is accusing us of choosing intolerance over love and shutting the door on us to “protect themselves “.

My relationship with God has waned since my son came out. I feel so devastated because I raised him in the church but as a single mom, I couldn’t fill the role his father abandoned. Homosexuality is a sin big time
My older sister told me she was trans one day and asked me if I still loved her. I told her that I still love her but I don't accept her lifestyle. I've been praying for her ever since. I don't know if she still thinks she's trans or not, since we don't talk about it. We rarely talk, outside of me sending her Bible verses because she asked me to, since she has been reading the Bible. But she is always in my thoughts and prayers and I'm always praying for God to change her heart about this sort of thing.

Why cut off relations with your sister. True love means loving EVERY part of a person. She needs your TRUE acceptance and love (not the false love/condemnation/Bible beating) you claim to be love. I can’t speak for the trans community but I was save at the tender age of 5, my father was a Pastor and my Mom is a prayer WARRIOR!!! but I am now 45 years old, I have never kissed or been kissed, I’ve been in love but have NEVER had that love returned and I am still a 45 year old virgin.
We pray as a family twice daily and I have prayed 20-30 per day for God to change me and while he has performed miracles in my life, he has NEVER changed this part of me. I pray for a wife and kids and dreamt of nothing else my entire life.
Imagine becoming sexually attracted to you same sex best friend and having relations with him/her. That’s how IMPOSSIBLE it is for me to suddenly become attracted to women. This started in the 5th grade and for 34 years we all continue to pray and although I have stayed pure, abstinent and more lonely and rejected you could ever know I stay faithful.
The truth is I will die completely alone and once my parents are gone staying alive each day will be the most difficult thing to do.
Making it sound like “magic” is like a punch in the gut to those whom Christ does not change.

This is so encouraging. I am praying for my niece who is 17 and has renounced her Christianity and says she is pansexual and involved in paganism. But I know my God can do more than we can ask or think. I now drive around her house and pray, and take her for coffee every week to keep the relationship going.

Your mom showed you what a Christian really was -- and didn't just talk about it. Her faith was real and not dead. She showed you her faith by her works. My mom did the same thing with me. I lived as a lesbian for 20+ years. My mom never preached to me about my homosexuality. She invited my partners for the holidays, etc. and treated them with kindness. I also knew what she believed, that homosexuality was a sin.............and I knew it was true too. Finally, in December of 2002, I was saved. My mom was happy for me. But, like your mom, she didn't seem surprised. She told me a few years later that she never stopped praying for me. PTL! My mom is 86 years young and still alive. We have a great relationship. I love talking to her about the Lord and the Word. God bless you. P.S. The Lord gave me a heart of flesh and I adopted two children in 2011. No husband (yet) but you never know. I now lead a Bible study out of my home.

In my case this is an encouragment to pray for my parents. They aren't part of the LGBT, but they are un-believers. It can be hard as a Christian to have unbelieving parents and family members. I prayed for my granddaughter who said she was a lesbian and had a relationship with a girl. My granddaughter was 17 at the time. I prayed for her to change her ways and not be gay all the time. She met a man almost 9 years ago and thank God! She is married to him and she has two boys, my great grand sons!! I’m thankful to God for being there and answered my prayer. She has never showed any interest in women since. I babysit for her and see her almost everyday. She loves her husband and is great mother. I love them all very much.

Becket, I wrestle with how to treat my daughter's "friend" without appearing like I'm accepting of the relationship or compromising my faith. I don' t know how to handle it. This video is very helpful. I'm so devastated over her decision. I have many moments of depression and grieve constantly over this. But God! That is where I need to start, praying for her in my prayer closet with passion and believing that He who started a good work will be faithful to complete it.

My grandson who is almost 18 came out as gay,at age 13. Told me in December on FaceTime, that he wanted to change his sex. I was stunned. He was wearing nail polish. Beckets moms letter,gave me hope.

I love your story. I have a Son that is an Atheist. And I never harass him about it. I just pray that he will one day give his heart to Jesus. Us mother's prayers go up to heaven like arrows , straight to the Thrown God.

Well, i don’t have any adult children right now, my daughter is 3 and half years old. But, this has made me realize that it’s never “too early” to start praying for your children. I’m going to start writing my prayers for her, praying for protection over her, that we would guide her with wisdom, and that she would accept Jesus as her Savior and live her life for Christ. This was so touching! I too have lost both my parents. But i do know that my mom prayed for me and my siblings. I am thsnkful to God for that. Thank you for sharing. Many blessings to you.

So many parts of the letter had me tearing up. But the one part of the letter that really hit me was the part where you mother prayed for grace to love you and your friends. LOVE is what changes people. I left the homosexual lifestyle several years ago and I am happier than I've ever been. And yes, I do struggle with same sex attraction at times but it's no where near like I used to. The Lord Jesus and our Heavenly Father God have shown so much grace to me on this journey. @James G I have thought about that. If The Lord Jesus Christ brings someone into my life that would be great. I have friends that were once married but left their wives for men, so why couldn't the opposite happen? I feel no rush to get married right now, though.

And it led you to the Lord. it was prayer but ultimately Jesus. Thank you Jesus for answering her prayer like you said. Beautiful mom with the love of Jesus and faith .

My heart bursts with hope. Your sincerity and the obvious love you have for your mom has given me the second wind I need to intercede for for my children. I'm not sure if you remotely comprehend how greatly the Lord is using your testimony to spread encouragement and faith to others.

Thank you for sharing this letter Becket. I'm a mother of four children and I've tried to raise them as Christians and when they become adults and are trying to figure out what it all means to them, the scariest part of being a parent is letting go and trusting that as a parent we've done our best and now the rest is in the Holy Spirit's very capable hands. I believe it is important to keep praying and being explicit in prayer and also having absolute confidence in the Lord answering our prayer. I love that your mother prayed explicitly against anything that would harm you and also that God would bless you according to his natural plans for our wholeness and goodness. He wants us to be well and more than that to thrive and be holy, since we image Him. God bless you and I've got to get going to write some letters of my own. Peace and love...
