    So yeah, after I made that community post updating y'all that Genesee Road finally has a working 2nd Mechanical bell, I decided to get it in action today while 152 was pulling the Holiday train for the Christmas season. Hope ya enjoy some more footage of this good ol' Narrow guage Railroad in action
    Also, Shoutout goes to ‪@videolover2014‬ For Calling in the dead bell while I was at school!

    My friend actually is the maintainer on this. The bell had been dead for years as the funding wasn’t there to upgrade. He told them about it and told them about it until he was blue in the face. His connection had the bucket truck and upgraded the lights to LED’s which he was happy about. I’ll have to ask him about the bell when I see him next. I’ve helped him test this crossing a few times along with the farm crossing and the village crossing

    Wow they finally upgraded those lights to LEDs. This crossing looks soooooo much better.

    Yo, thanks for the Shoutout, as after watching your Videos & stuff, plus listening closely to the Bells & you telling me about the dead WCH Mechanical Bell, etc., that's why I decided to call them to make a report about it, as it has been dead for years & years & years & it's nice that they came by & installed that new Black Raco Mechanical Bell right on the Gated Mast, thus bringing that really nice Bell Combo! 😀

    Sounds a whole lot better with the new bell I wonder if the railroad is playing to remove the dead WCH, bell and place a signal cap on it

      I agree, it sounds pretty good with the refurbished RACO Bell, but its also a shame that they got rid of the old 8 inch lights here
      And I'm not totally sure about that, I think they just put the bell on the gate mast because the maintainers thought it would be the easier and safer alternative. But they might climb up there and remove the dead WCH Bell eventually

      @@Damon810Railfan did not know it originally had its original 8 inch lights very unfortunate indeed

    I was just thinking that if you were visiting that area for the first time and you get stop by that old steam engine and see it crossing the road what on would be the reaction of the first timers seeing that old engine coming across the road

    The steam engine is pulling 12 passenger cars and one caboose.

    How do they lean the gate away from power lines how do they program that

    • @Damon810Railfan
      @Damon810Railfan  ปีที่แล้ว

      They don't program it, they add more counterweights to lean the arm away from the power line, then bolt up and wire up the hold clear mechanism for it to rest that way

      @Damon810Railfan  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, as a matter of fact, some short lines and tourist railroads still install new or refurbished mechanical bells, and for example, WCH does still make mechanical bells for non-Class 1 railroads too

      Its been delayed due to one of my voice actors being very busy. It should continue as soon as I get his lines for the upcoming non-canon short, in which is gonna kick start season 2 shortly after (Hopefully, its just been really slow in terms of MMRS production)
