Girl groups are NOTORIOUS for falling apart faster than boy groups. Backstreet Boys are still around, New Edition (all SIX!!), Boyz II Men, Silk, H-Town, 98 Degrees, All 4 One, are all still around in some capacity. Name 5 female groups that are still active in any capacity besides TLC, SWV, and maybe Excape.
Donnie: "I hope you'll be bigger than New Edition...in weeks to come, we'll be looking back, saying 'Can you believe what happened to these girls? They're huge.'" If you've seen Chaka's daughter lately you'll know his prediction about size was right on target.

Motown picked THEE WACKEST singles to release from this album!! They could have gone with Home By Midnight, I Wanna Be Your Girlfriend, or even Testin My Love. Just horrific promotion all around and they could SING.
Unfortunately, Motown did a poor job promoting the majority of its acts from the mid/late '80s to the mid-'90s. There were of course a few exceptions; but I think, in the case of Boyz II Men and Another Bad Creation as examples, there was a lot of momentum from Michael Bivins' involvement and that once those groups started to take off, Motown really invested. But there are dozens of talented acts that never got off the ground with minimal investment and product pretty much just thrown out there: Nikita, La La, Ada Dyer, Colin England, Magic Lady, and Angela Cole, to name just a handful. It's no wonder that El DeBarge and Smokey Robinson left the label during this time period.
1991 Chaka: "...at least as big as New Edition...this industry is like a circus..." 2012 Chaka [speaking on Whitney's death]: "This industry is demonic." From 1991 to 2012?? Obviously none of them had the life & industry experience that time bought them. I believe Both Ms. Khan's have learned quite a bit since then.

Milini was really gorgeous...

I never knew Chaka Kahn had a daughter.

I knew her daughter but I never knew she was ever in a group 😳. I thought she just sang back up for her mama sometimes.
I've never heard of them. I remember the movie though.
