  • Red dust off-road, driving in the middle of nowhere, hidden gorges, night hikes, superb sunrises welcome to ... Karijini.
    After almost two months and a half on the coastline of Western Australia, it is time for us to take the road inland. Endless roads so empty it is to wonder why they are there in the first place. We are heading to the Karijini National Park.
    Oasis of fresh waters in the middle of the desert, there is a world to discover when diving down the rocky edges of the canyons. There is also a world to discover climbing Western Australia second highest peak, Mount Bruce. From where we can spot the glowing mining sites of the area.
    Tom Price, the desert town split in between its touristic hotspot and mining hub identity. We travel there with our Belgian friends Melvine and Fauve! Game on!
    By the end of the video we announce to you a big big expedition project we have been working on for a long time!
    Until next week, take care!

    The canyon with the river in was my personal favourite spot this week. I could spend days there, or would have in the past when my health allowed. My son and his (French) fiancée love rock climbing and have been staying with us in Spain. They tell me it’s so different climbing the limestone in France and Spain compared with the sandstone where they live in Australia, so now I’m finding myself scanning your videos to notice the rock formations too 😅

    I missed you guys. Great return episode. I'm learning a lot about Australia. I never dreamed there is as much water as there is or canyons and mountains. Pretty interesting. If I could only travel to 10 places in the world would I go there? Probably not. Good to see though. That is why there are people like you!

  • @pennygrubbauthor

    Feels like you're really out in the wilderness now. Australia is HUGE. I always think that humanity just clings to the edges of Oz and that nature could very easily shrug everyone off. I wondered if you would decide to dive back into Python Pool from the cliffs, but probably a good decision not to. Looking forward to Mongolia though I would never have guessed it would be your next destination.

    • @NextMeridianExpedition
      @NextMeridianExpedition  20 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hey Penny! yes Mongolia is a bit off our way for now. But just like last year when nick went to Morocco it is his job for now!
      You are soooo right. when you look at the map, we are not even really anywhere close to the center of the country. we are very much on the edges of it. and yet... nothing... just nothing. sometimes I look through the window and see this red dirt and dry bush, and I try to imagine that going in the straight line from there there are hundreds or thousands of kilometres to the next road... insane

    I loved Karijini!! Nice to visit those sights again through you guys. 😍
    Mongolia has always been a place I’ve been curious about since I was little. In the last couple of weeks, this has been the second time that one of the vloggers I follow has/is travelling to Mongolia.
    I think the universe is sending me signs. 😏 I love, like you, travelling off the beaten track and immersing myself in the local culture. Which travel company did you use and would you recommend them?

    • @NextMeridianExpedition
      @NextMeridianExpedition  20 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hello !!! ooooh mongolia was also a dream of our's. We did not really go through a travel company, we organised our itineraries independently and then rented horses and moto... but we definitely recommend mongolia x10000

      @IAmAlive101 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@NextMeridianExpedition Awesome!!! Would you mind giving me the details of the company you used? I don’t know yet when exactly I’ll head to Mongolia, but hopefully in 2025 or 2026. 2 weeks driving by myself. I believe it can be done as a solo travelling woman.
      But of course, research comes first. 😉
