I once had a mean Sim and his aspiration demanded him to make an enemy. Went to a random townie, had nothing but mean interactions, even had a fight, and their friendship went all the way to the max. Turn out that townie loved mischief and mean interaction, mean Sims, mean conversations, resulting in fantastic compatibility.
We definitely need more negative type traits for the sims 4. I'd like a grumpy trait, an inappropriate trait, and an unlucky trait. I think if they were implemented properly, those traits would make a big difference in the sims personalities.
this! i almost never play with any of the 'bad' traits because they're either too bland or they're just straight up horrible. i just want my sims to be a bit grumpy without destroying every relationship they have :')
@@CutiePatutie_SmookiePookieBearI’d make the distinction grumpy people just grumble about life and what annoys them. Hot headed people are likely to fly off the handle and choose a more violent or untoward way of expressing their anger.
Also, they shouldn't want to clean in strangers homes unless there's a mean way. Really immersion breaking when malcolm laandgraab was cleaning in my house
The "inheritance" call is quite common actually... choose option two and get $2500 immediately. choose option one, marry within 7 days, the quicker the better and receive a much larger amount.
That wasn't an invisible cup, that was 100% an invisible umbrella. My sims are fond of those as well lol. Anyway, for the money popup, answering "under what conditions" nullifies the conditions and gives you an instant 2,500 simoleons, otherwise you'll have to marry for it. Also, the fruit cake preference is always fun to see. Sims are also randomly right or left handed. The one I'm playing now is left handed and loves fruit cake which makes me want to pay attention and see if those two things are always connected lol
Sadly, it does nothing for game play. I tried to make an evil gold digging Sim who broke up a rich snobby family, and the ex wife didn't even give a shit being in the company of the gold digger lmao. Pointless, it's just like playing Barbies as a kid, all in your imagination.
5:40 As far as I know, their emotions can allow or prevent certain actions, e.g. a Sim can not flirt when they are too sad or angry, or they can make better jokes when playful. The impact of traits and emotions is more noticeable over a longer period of playtime.
Then also sad and angry are emotions so rare I barely get affected by it. Most of the time random happy moodlets from decor or simply talking with others or doing what they like just overshadows all negative moodlets
Mean/evil are more likely to autonomously troll forms and raise mischief level. I don't know if being good does anything, although social ones probably more likely to autonomously raise charisma/comedy. I think goofy leads to increased comedy and mischief
How have you possibly never seen the Marry-For-Money pop up before? Although, I've never had a single child with a loose tooth, no one has ever volunteered to come and stay at my Sim's house, and the only time I ever saw Kyle Kyleson, was when he was dying on a random community lot.
One of my Sims got the «Marry-For-Money» twice. Pretty much all of the kids in all of my saves had at least three loose teeth. Having some other Sim come for a temporary stay is a relatively common occurrence for me. One led to a wedding, and another to a permanent move in... With two kids.
the moodlets affect the autonomous interactions, as well as the impacts of interactions on relationships. they also impact what interactions you can use, like the sadness moodlet makes it so you cannot flirt with other sims.
That’s true but then again, when they’re angry, they can still make jokes. What I’ve seen is the sad and tense moodlets are the only ones that actually prevent certain interactions (I might be wrong) Playful moodlet could maybe slow down their homework time or doing a job task time. Happy could give a small boost to all skill gain apart from inspired or others boosting specific skills. I feel like there is more that could have been done but wasn’t
The way moodlets are, negative emotions don't pile up in the way positive emotions do, any positive moodlet, other than happy, will be boosted by happy, making them more likely to have a positive emotion overall. Being happy is just good in general, but being sad makes it harder for your sim to socialize, I think. When you hover over the sim's image on the bottom left, it will tell you how an emotion affects your sim and/or how to get rid of it 💀👍
They really should have made "uncomfortable" as the booster for negative moodlets to have a matching counterpart to happy. Most of the time my sims just have positive emotions from random things because the sum of happy moodlets always overshadow the individual negative moodlets
It seems like a missed opportunity not to give Shanice and Shantelle the likes and dislikes for Sim characteristics and traits since that came with Growing Together and would give you a better reflection of the opposing personalities
Satch thank you for helping me get through America's 4th of July mess. Plllllease post this house on the gallery. I love this. I'm always up for those sisters' adventures

I am SHOOOCK you never got that call before!!!!!!!!! I get it every damn time, and you choose the second option unless you're engaged or actually want to get married right away. It's a quick 2 g's with no work for the second option.
That's interesting, the times that I chose the option that doesn't tell you to get married, it's always said they were calling the wrong person and I didn't get anything 💀
I'm sorry this is after a bunch of expansion packs and a LOT of time. One of my first characters in Sims 4 had the good trait and she hooked up with a random townie at a bar (cliche I know but thats how the game is built). They had a high relationship and she ended up having his baby pretty quickly, as in before I knew all his traits. He really didn't act any different than other random townies, but when I realized I knew almost nothing about him I worked on learning his traits and he was evil and dastardly. He hadn't done anything mean or anything, just acted like everyone else, but my good sim fell in love with him with very very little effort on my part. This is when whims was still active back in the day and I just kept going by what she "wanted" and she wanted to chat with him, she wanted to hug him, she wanted to call him, etc, and then found out he was her exact opposite. EDIT: I think the key here is that YOU are selecting the options with two sims that YOU are controlling. Random townies with opposite traits don't (or didn't) do mean interactions autonomously even if that was their traits. I think they tuned it more later because we saw townies pranking toilets and stuff like that which didn't happen in previous years.
I literally received that same inheritance pop-up earlier today even though from the very beginning of that save file I have turned every sim immortal in the settings and MCCC. 😅
they do sometimes yell at random people and they rarely fight, thats all but I assume that was reduce due to the mean bug in high school years. but also who they like or dislike, if dislike someone they have a higher chance of being mean to them, especially when the sim is angry or tense. they are also more likely to be nice to someone if they are a friend. when they don't know each they occasionally use a rude introduction. this was before the mean patch. and the fact sims were mean when that bug was a thing means there is code for a sim to autonomously do it. and the npcs and sims are a needs-based ai, so if they were in the room, with someone else with nothing else and they need fun. and if being mean, is a way to increase the fun stat when they are evil, they will do that, this is why a sim always goes on a computer especially when it is expensive the ai searches the lot for the best thing to increase its needs. it needs food and fun, and there's a item on the lot that can give both. they will choose that, if there is no item with both they would choose food first and then do something fun. the ai itself is advanced, but they made it so they aren't too smart or too stupid, because if they were smart you wouldn't need to care for them, and that would kill the idea of the game there is a good video on it somewhere i think it is do with how a sims ai works. but they could definitely do with some tweaks.

Was Shanice's door "set as the front door"? Cuz thats why the guests went to her side lol. And also, ive noticed that default prompts usually have to do with their current mood. So they could be a good sim but if they are mad, theyll get negative prompts
Yeah I feel The Sims needs more negative events and traits and things should have more of a meaningful long-term impact 😅 I wish The Sims had a setting/game mode to make the game more challenging and more chaotic!

I've tried to play an evil mean hotheaded sim and it was really hard to keep their interactions with everyone negative. EA relly dropped the ball on the mean and evil interaction and moodlets.
Satch maybe you are to something. When the horseranch pack came out there was a new option to talk about the neighborhood. Now I think it was an Easter egg. Maybe is the next expansion pack about cleaning 😂.
Talking about neighborhood is still in my game but only for households living in the Horse Ranch world. Even when a horse ranch family had a guest living in another world (like Oasis Springs) they could still ask about the community and horse adoption, which I found weird because if that sim doesn’t live there, how are they supposed to know? Lol
I wish there were more game play impact like with pregnant women where you can't do specific things in the 3rd trimester (like go in hot tub) or like if you are super hungry and you can't do things like Gardening because you are too uncomfortable. These things totally impact how you play the game. There needs to be more ramifications for actions rather than getting a moodlet that takes you out of being (for example) Inspirational for 4 hours. That's a little lame because I feel like it's just a small time delay and nothing really impactful.
Yeah but leave free autonomy on… what happens? I miss when you made a Sim that doesn’t like cleaning, to clean and how they would look at you very sad or upset, in Sims 2…
And your point is ... ??? Just to be clear, I'm no fan of EA or the Sims team or how they have handled the Sims 4 (ever), but what exactly is the net gain of this video? All I hear is waah-waah ... without any real substance! If I were on the Sims team (re)searching for useful feedback for what to change and improve, this video would be of no help ... Example: You think sims waking up with happy/sad moodlets changes nothing in terms of gameplay - so ... WHAT should happen instead and HOW should they behave? I agree that some more outward expression of their emotions could make for a more fun game, but honestly, if waking up feeling like shit and still going about your day like usual is not relatable ... I don't know what is! I'm all for constructive criticism, but complaining for the sake of complaining helps no one ...
