Unfortunately all enchanted books go into one chest, that’s because the allays don’t differentiate between different enchantments. There’s no way around this. They do differentiate between enchanted and unenchanted as well as book and quills.
While I was designing this I thought about that. The problem is the game requires the noteblocks to make a sound, otherwise the allays won't react to them and wont drop the items. Therefore if you do that the sorter won't work.
hey man, i built this in 1.21, and for some reason the water is carrying the items too fast causing the allays to not be able to pick up the items. i have tested by manually throwing them the items and they do pick them up, but with the water the whole thing drops down to about a success rate of 30% of items thrown being picked up. do you know if this broke in 1.21, or any way to fix it?
I don’t have any idea why this farm could potentially break in 1.21, since nothing about redstone got changed. I do recall that while I was testing this farm, I built the this same design a couple of times to test reliability; and for some weird reason one of them didn’t work. Seeing the others worked perfectly I supposed it was an error I made with the that specific allay item sorter. Nevertheless I checked everything and found no difference between the modules that worked and the module that didn’t. Maybe that’s the weird thing you’re experiencing? Another reason could be that in 1.20.2 they changed the attacking range of most mobs, making it so that the player needs to be nearly touching the mob in order to get attacked by it. I don’t remember this changing anything with allays and let alone the pick up range of them because that change change the attacking range of mobs. These are the only two potential reasons I can find so maybe try this farm in 1.20.1 and see if it works, or take a look on the internet about the 1.20.2 combat changes. Thanks for you feedback! I will do my own research.
The design is amazing n works well. However, i know there is a case with other allay sorters where the player needs to be at least 32 blocks within the distance for the allay to pick n sort the items, is this the case with this design too?
In this case the player needs to be close enough for the chunks to be simply loaded. In the video I explain the note blocks lock in the allays to drop the items at the note blocks, not where the player is. That's essentially the new use note blocks got in 1.19. Thanks for your comment!
Allays aren’t capable of sorting between different enchanted books unfortunately, but they can tell the difference between an unenchanted book and an enchanted one. They also got the ability to tell the difference between potions in a minor update.
I'm not sure about that check for yourself by activating the experiment. If when you break the rail below the minecart, the minecart always stays facing the direction it was facing before the rail was broken, regardless of what direction the rail was facing, then it isn't directional anymore with the minecart changes.
@@DBWave94 You can turn off block sounds in the game which would turn off the note blocks, but it would mean that all other block sounds would also be off.
The hopper minecarts are situated lower than 1 full block from the slabs where the items flow. Therefore the hopper minecart shouldn't be able to pick up the items if you built this correctly. I'm not sure how big the range of hopper minecarts on bedrock is, but I think it should work. Nevertheless, this design is mainly for Minecraft Java.
The outer stairs do not necessarily have to be stairs, it just gives the build a better look. The inner stairs though, the ones that separate the water and the allay signal do have to be stairs to let the signal go through.
This should not be due to the sorter being in 1.21, have you placed the water correctly on top of the slab not IN the slab? Make sure to click on the wool instead of the deepslate blocks as the wool is a full block.
@@Spadigy yes, i have done that, three times, i re checked every thing but it wasn't working properly. But i do appreciate ur concerns and keep up the good work u really disserve a like and subscribe
Great tutorial! Thanks for mentioning me as inspiration ❤
just missing a limatica or world download for being perfect !
Thank you! I’ll be sure to include that in the next tutorial.
😮
Can I sort different types of enchanted books with this? Or will all enchanted books go into one chest
Unfortunately all enchanted books go into one chest, that’s because the allays don’t differentiate between different enchantments. There’s no way around this. They do differentiate between enchanted and unenchanted as well as book and quills.
11:25 would love to do that but i dont undestand how
Just search an automatic dropper tutorial on TH-cam.
Hey, if you don't like to hear the noteblocks, just put a block on top of them. That should silence them
While I was designing this I thought about that. The problem is the game requires the noteblocks to make a sound, otherwise the allays won't react to them and wont drop the items. Therefore if you do that the sorter won't work.
@@Spadigy I thought it only needed the sound for the first time. My bad. I learned something new today. Thanks
It needs to make sound at least every 30 seconds, the contraption makes sound more often just for redstone conveniency purposes. Glad to help!
Or just turn note block sound to 0 in your setting ahha
yeah but im not sure the allays would still be able to hear them

i would sub if someone will tel me if it can sort through different enchanting books

@@Spadigy what minor update? (subbed)
i think 1.19.1
9:17 why 4 repeater at 4 red tick?
It's so that the dropper drops the items at the correct speed. Otherwise the allays won't be quick enough to pick them up.
Is this still directional with the minecrart improvement changes?

hi, could u show a short vid how u connect the redstone clock to mute the dinging sound of the, noteblocks not sure how to do it, greatly appreciated
I think there is a misunderstanding here. It is impossible to mute the note blocks or else the allays won't hear them and won't drop the items.
I believe there's actually an audio setting to mute note blocks specifically.
@@DBWave94 You can turn off block sounds in the game which would turn off the note blocks, but it would mean that all other block sounds would also be off.
So the hopper minecarts are picking up the items without the alleys ? Has this happened to you?(im on bedrock)

what if i only need 1 layer?
One layer of what exactly? So I can help you.
it's not working properly in 1.21.1
the water on the slab above the allays is becoming a water source block its not flowing
This should not be due to the sorter being in 1.21, have you placed the water correctly on top of the slab not IN the slab? Make sure to click on the wool instead of the deepslate blocks as the wool is a full block.
