About the Daida incident:
Even If she was behind me coming quite close, it is important for everyone to know that pozo is a busy spot.
We are 2 weeks before the comp and all the pros are here to train. They are basically working out there. So it is super crowded. Personally I always prefer to give way to any of the pros no matter if I have "priority".
I am well aware of my level, I’m not going fast and I don’t have that much control on these 40 knots gusty onshore wind and choppy conditions.
And the way I let go the gear wasn’t smart. Maybe I should have kept my front hand on the boom. It is hard to think when you’re in the air with a sail with tooooo much power…
Luckily nothing bad happened.

Philip Köster winning Pozo in 2009 with the age of 15 created a new era of windsurfing. Today you see everybody doing the crazy moves as he did already back 13 years ago.

As a beginner who has had some wild catapults, I think anyone moving directly downwind of a likely crash is definitely responsible for what happens to them. Pedestrians may have right of way, but cars will always win. So too will a flying rig and board.
Kiters seems often to have no idea about the effect a flung windsurf kit will have to them and their gear.
