  • Here is a very rare sight of a full road closure done in broad day light with the HUGE Liebherr LTM1750 - 9.1 lifting excavators to the roof of a building for demolition works.
This crane was formerly from Moh Seng Cranes. It was purchased by Tiong Woon Cranes in 2021 and repainted to the company's livery colours.

    Why is the wire twisted?

A few things might have occurred, unfortunately it is not convenient for me to explain here.

It's a common occurrence even on new cranes. Easily fixed by reeving hook so rope terminates on block. Then place hook on ground and let the rope detention inside the termination. Just a common maintenance practice. Liebherrs seem to be worst for it

@@cwb6739 the demag previous generation AC250-1 had the same problem especially when working with fully extended main boom @ 80mtrs with a single sheave block, Demag's solution was by providing a bearing swivel between the boom head and end termination to take out the rotation in the wire.

@zukor85 yes some of our demags came with those but there has been a recall on some of them. But I still find best way is just manual way and then rope can't go back to the twist

That is a TERRIBLE way to sling those trackhoes. Wrong, wrong, wrong. The boom is not designed as a lift point. The took the counterweights off, which probably helped, but there are better places to attach lifting slings.
