    Thank you for these photos. I have done 2 peacekeeping tours and sadly most of my 2000 or so photos only show the devastation and sadness since the Indonesian invasion and the turmoil of 1999 and 2006. I do know that the countryside is beautiful and the towns of Ainaro and Suai were magestic in their day. Sadly I do not believe they will ever recover. I hope for the best for the people of Timor Leste.

    timor leste for um caso aparte do resto das colonias... era um posto longiquo adormecido com muita autonomia e pouico investimento, as pessoas ainda viviam livres em reinos pequenos dentro de timor como sempre viveram em milhares de anos, portugueses nao interferiam com seu modo de vida, para bem ou mal... mas esse era o acordo entre autoridades lusas e os reis de timor leste eles queriam auto governar-se sobre a bandeira nacional...

    Glad you liked them. I had taken these pictures on a charter I crewed from Australia, and thought that they had some historical value considering all the changes that occurred since then.

    The driving side was on the right hand traffic even the vehicles were in LHD imported from Portugal or the Philippines unlike its giant neighbor Indonesia.

      In Goa nowadays almost anybody speaks portugueses, they dont care about the portugueses culture that Portugal left there after centurys of ocupation, they dont like Portugal, what can we do?
