    Thank you so much. I was diagnosed last month. I have hesitated to share my diagnosis with a friend because I know her attitude about cancer tends toward judging the patient and demonizing them. I don't need that kind of negativity while I'm fighting for my life. The message of this video is beautiful. ♥

      It’s heartbreaking that you feel judged, especially during such a vulnerable time. You’re absolutely right to protect your mental and emotional well-being. Surround yourself with those who uplift you. Remember, this is your journey, and it’s okay to set boundaries. Check out our video about setting boundaries here: th-cam.com/video/jwrgx7J1E58/w-d-xo.html We're sending you strength and support.

      Why should you feel as if you caused it ? Women have been told that estrogen does not cause breast cancer . Yet , breast cancer has increased among women in recent years . There are probably several factors together that causes cancer in women’s breasts . Until we know for sure , I believe it is wise to be cautious with what we put into our bodies . Remember , companies make millions of dollars on women who take estrogen . By the way , we are live with stress , it is part of our culture so we can try to minimize stress but not get entirely rid of it . Maintaining a healthy weight , no alcohol , no smoking , having children especially when younger does , perhaps help us to stay healthy . However , so many things in life are really beyond our control . Just to live every day with some laughter is probably the best medicine for many women.

    This is such an important video. When I first discovered the lump in my breast, one of my first thoughts was; what did I do to cause this. I was devastated. My oncologist, Saundra Buys, at the beginning of my first appointment said nothing you have done caused this. I was so grateful and comforted. Every cancer patient needs to hear this.

    • @yerbba

      Your story resonates with so many-thank you for sharing it. It’s so important for patients to hear that breast cancer isn’t caused by something they did or didn’t do. Your oncologist’s words were a gift, and we hope this video continues to provide that same comfort to others navigating their diagnosis.

    Thank you Doc❤ I remember when I was first diagnosed in 2021, I convinced myself that I caused it. I've let that go to some extent, but it creeps in my thoughts every now and then . Great information as always. Love from London UK

      I was diagnosed in 2021 also and I felt it was because I maybe drank too much …even though I never binged I would have some wine or a vodka after work to relax. I had no idea at the time that alcohol increased the cause of breast cancer

    • @yerbba
      @yerbba  22 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Thank you for sharing that-it’s completely natural to have those thoughts creep back in sometimes. Remember, as we highlighted in the video, there’s no single action that causes breast cancer. You’re not to blame. Sending love back to you in London.

      @yerbba  20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thank you for watching! It can be tough to hear “bad luck” as an answer, but the reality is that breast cancer often doesn’t have a single cause. We hope this video helps explain how complex factors like genetics, environment, and even random mutations can contribute.

    People need to be told about all risk factors and let them figure out what they can and cannot influence to prevent cancer from happening. If it's a risk factor(s) one can influence (eg obesity, smoking, alcohol usage, lack of ability to manage own stress and sleep etc), then by doing what one shouldn't do one does contribute to cancer occurrence and recurrence and thereby is partially responsible. It's very easy to blame cancer on genetics, stress or giving full control to whatever other external factors, and very comforting to think we've done nothing wrong and it just happened out of the blue, but we have to know what we CAN and SHOULD do within our power to fight/prevent it, and it's not little.

    • @yerbba
      @yerbba  20 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      It's a balance, isn't it? We like to feel that we're in control of our risk factors, and there are certainly behavioral things that many people can take part in. It's also the case that environmental factors and unknown factors cause breast cancer.

    Thank you, Doctor. Is there any link between the COVID vaccines and breast cancer? Being a teacher, I received the Moderna vaccine and all the boosters. I was diagnosed with breast cancer this year, and I was shocked when my dentist told me that the COVID vaccine has been shown to cause breast cancer. She said that she has been seeing a lot more patients with breast cancer, and it is written in medical literature. When I saw my dermatologist three months ago, I told her that I had a mastectomy. She then asked me which side. When I told her my left, she asked if I had the vaccines in my left arm. When I told her that I did, she said "See!" She told me that the vaccines mess up our immune systems and left me more prone to getting cancer. I feel really bad because I only got all the boosters because I was trying to protect myself and students from getting sick.

      @hazelliu6310 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I got the same experience: When I did my MRI, the staff asked me which side I had my vaccines. It is my left side. She appeared trying to confirm if I had the vaccines the same side as my breast cancer, which is actully the same.

    • @jenfest7295
      @jenfest7295 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree. The vaccine causes your immune system to take a hit, allowing cancers to grow. Though you’ll never hear the medical community come out with this because it would cause mass hysteria

    • @jenfest7295
      @jenfest7295 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My best friend is in the medical field also says the vaccine is increasing the amount of new breast cancers. Of course it does not cause it for everyone, but if you’re already susceptible to cancer and your immune system is one that would already have more trouble controlling and fighting cancer cell growth, the vaccine can put it over the edge since your immune system is now fighting the vaccine. What makes me the most suspicious if the immediate denial response of the main stream medical media professionals. I’d have more confidence if it was admitted that they really don’t know.

    Bitter pill for many to swallow, but glad that Dr. Griggs was very forthright in saying that *no amount of alcohol is safe.* I think if doctors give any dietary advice for cancer prevention whatsoever, it should be to avoid alcohol at all costs. The current guidelines for lite/moderate drinking (1 drink/day) for CHD prevention are baseless due to numerous confounders and are actually dangerous from a public health perspective.

    • @yerbba
      @yerbba  22 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      You’re absolutely right. The truth is, no amount of alcohol is truly safe for overall health-it’s a literal toxin that disrupts the body in many ways. Avoiding it completely is one of the most powerful choices anyone can make to protect their health. The alcohol industry has been misleading people, including doctors, for centuries.

    • @yerbba
      @yerbba  20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You’re right-poor sleep, stress, and other lifestyle factors can play a role in overall health, but breast cancer is multifaceted and rarely caused by one thing. This video emphasizes that it’s often a combination of genetic, environmental, and hormonal factors, and things that no one understands. While individual choices play a role, there are factors not associated with individual behaviors that can cause breast cancer.

    How long does it take for the chemo to get out from your body

      I was told by my oncologist that chemo side effects last roughly 7 years. Why? Because that’s how long it takes for your body to completely regenerate itself.

    Overall, I strongly support plant based eating, but have gotten really angry at local groups speaking to breast cancer groups and blaming their use of dairy for their breast cancer.

    • @yerbba
      @yerbba  20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It’s frustrating when well-meaning advice turns into blame. Dairy is just one of many factors studied in relation to cancer, and no single food can be pinpointed as a cause. Encouraging plant-based eating is great, but no one deserves to be shamed for their past food choices. Dairy did not directly cause your breast cancer.

    Not going into menopause at a usual age, good for bone health, etc, but similar to starting periods at early age. Noticed primary doctors don’t seem to be concerned when a woman in mid to later fifties still having monthly periods- wonder if high risk patients need to be advised regarding?

    • @yerbba
      @yerbba  20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Late menopause does carry a slightly increased risk for breast cancer due to longer hormone exposure, similar to an early start of periods. If you’re high-risk, it’s worth discussing this with your doctor. There are advantages of having a late menopause in terms of bone and heart health.

      I can't help but think that HRT in the form of vaginal cream may have contributed to my breast cancer.

      @@_S.R._ I have wondered the same thing about HRT in the vaginal cream that I once was prescribed. I no longer use this cream because I don't want to take a chance of metastatic breast cancer somewhere else in my body. I have had bilateral mastectomy, but I still think about recurrence somewhere else. Diane

    • @yerbba
      @yerbba  22 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      HRT has been shown to slightly increase the risk of developing breast cancer in some studies, depending on the type, dosage, and duration of use. Longer durations (over 5 years) appear to have the strongest connection to breast cancer. We’ve created a detailed video on HRT that you can find here [th-cam.com/video/y8ixdttnuOA/w-d-xo.html].

    I have been going through all that in my head!! I laid in a tanning bed when they first came out along with laying in the sun. I have skin cancers that have been removed by mohos surgery. This I wonder if have had a impact on my cancer

    • @yerbba
      @yerbba  22 วันที่ผ่านมา

      We hear you-it’s common to reflect on past sun exposure or tanning bed use, especially if skin cancer has been a concern. While UV exposure increases skin cancer risk, its direct link to breast cancer is not evident. You’re doing the right thing by staying vigilant about your health.
