Back in early 80’s at Overton my dad stopped at gas station that sold live shad. Last 5 year we fished you couldn’t buy any. Couple months ago seen some one on TH-cam throwing cast nets at mead bought one and can’t wait to spend a weekend fishing with shad. Ingenious live bait well but you should have made it bigger!! damn that’s a lot of bait. Ding Dong with you. Thanks for video brings back great memories.
Nice. How did you get so many bait fish? Do they allow cast nets for the shad? If so, it would be so much better then buying jumbo minnows all the time like we do in California.
@@davidherrera6885 it just takes time on the water to figure it out there not always in the same spots just keep trying you will find them they are through out the lake.
I was thinking about getting an inflatable kayak for lake mead but it looks like you're doing just fine on a float tube! How do you like it? Where else do you take it?
@@gregriley5979 It seems like there are like 5 good little reservoirs in southern utah that would be perfect for a float tube and and packed with bass. Where do you like to go in southern utah?
That’s awesome! Thank you for Sharing

Why do you let go of some of the shad?

I use a cast net to get the shad.
Cool deal
@@gregriley5979 where and how do you find so many shad to catch with your net? I have a kayak that I fish from but I can't ever find shad.

All the lakes are good some have bass and some have trout.
If you want bass sand hollow is a good spot.
