Thank you for watching my video. Yes, the bite does slows down this time of the year but they still need to eat. We just need to present something that appeals to the fish 🐟 🐠. Good luck to you and happy holidays to you and your family.
Thank you Darren! I’m still learning how to improve my videos and editing my videos. Feel free to let me know if you have any suggestions or future video ideas you would like to see. Happy Holidays to you and your family.
Hi! Wow! Nice catch!🎉 could you help me with some information? I need information about whether I can keep carp if I manage to catch it? And how many carp can I take? I couldn't find any information online. Thank you in advance for your help! :) And if it's not a secret, could you possibly tell me how or where you found such a place where I can drive right up to the lake shore?
Hello! In Nevada carp is not considered a game fish. Thus, you can catch and keep as many as you’d like. In many states they are considered invasive species and you’re not allowed to release them but it’s not the case here in Nevada. Also, some like to use carp as bait for catfish. There are several places at Lake Mead where you can drive down to shore and fish. I personally like the shore between Hemenway Harbor and Boulder Beach. During summer it can get busy with those out for family picnics and swimming. With the recent rising water levels, these spots could change and be careful if/when the water level drops as the grounds will be soft and you could get your car stuck. I hope this helps. Good luck!
Have been watching your videos for a while. How often do you make one?. Why not show a close up of your rig so we can see the type of hooks, weights etc. Do you always use waders? Keep up the good work. Thanks! l George Bonafino
Hi George, thanks for watching my videos. I usually go fishing once a week. If I do get skunked I don’t post those videos as I don’t think anyone wants to see that. I’m editing a video now it should be posted in a day or two. I’ll include close up of the rig and talk about them in future videos. Great suggestion. I’ll wear waders if I’m fishing around Hemenway so I can get the bait out in the deeper water, unless I’m just fishing for carp. I don’t need it at Hatchery Saddle point or if I take the kayak. I hope this helps.
The basic setup is a Carolina rig with 3/4oz or 1oz barrel weight. For stripers and catfish I usually use frozen anchovies cut in half for the bait on each hooks. I get the frozen anchovies from Walmart (in the fishing section). For carp, I use pack bait in the carp feeder cage using 1/2 cornflakes and 1/2 panko bread crumbs (sometimes I’ll add strawberry jello) with half the juice from can corn. Then I’ll put 3-4 kernels of corn on each hook. You are allowed 2 hooks on each pole here in NV. The hooks are tied using T knot and I usually use size 4 circle or octopus hooks for both stripers and carp setup. I’ve been using 12lbs. Or 14lbs. Line with 20lbs leader. I hope this helps. Thank you for watching my videos and for your questions. 🙏
I went last weekend by the special events beach tried anchovies and some small plastic rigs but no luck will keep on trying a different spot soon thanks for the tip
You can have more than 2 poles but you can only use 2 maximum at a time. I usually have 2 poles with Carolina set up and 1 with a lure when I’m fishing from the bank. If the bite is slow, I reel in 1 Carolina rig and use my other pole with a lure. That way I’m not wasting time tying and re-tying different rigs. I hope this helps and I appreciate you watching my videos.
Love the video and very smart to drive your vehicle closer to the water. This time of year is difficult to catch anything, great job.
Thank you Bryan! I like to minimize how much I walk when I fish. 😀 Anyway, I appreciate you watching my video.
Nice catch, sir! Thank you for the ride. It gives me hope to catch fish around this year as i am camp at the lake. Keep catching them fish!

Is special events Beach marked by a sign?
Yes, there was a small sign to turn down to Special Events Beach.
@@Busydad Thank you. Cool videos by the way!👍
May i ask what bates you are using and whats what you put in the thing

Nicely done bud! Being relatively new here, I've never heard of special events beach. How many yards to you walk out before casting?
Usually 30 to 50 yards just so I can cast to where it’s a little deeper.
Looks like hememway
It’s a little further down towards Boulder Beach.
You have 3 poles out. Isn't that illegal?
You can have more than 2 poles but you can only use 2 maximum at a time. I usually have 2 poles with Carolina set up and 1 with a lure when I’m fishing from the bank. I usually have 5 poles set and ready. 2 for catfish, 2 for stripers and 1 for bluegill.only use 2 at a time but ready.
You need a bigger net 😮
I know I’ve been looking for a bigger one.
