  • I recently released a video ( • The most natural iPad ... ) where I claimed I found the best drums for the iPad. Well, the same company, @klevgrand has just released a new plugin that’s even better! There are some amazing presets.
    One of the standout features is how this plugin responds to dynamics. It doesn’t just change the volume based on how hard you hit the pad. The character of the sound actually changes too. You can really hear this in my new video. Let me know what you think in the comments.
    I am using a midi looping in Loopy Pro but it's an in-development version that’s not released yet.

    - AKAI Professional LPD8 - geni.us/XmvzPbk
    - UGREEN USB C Hub - geni.us/s7Hhz
    - Guitar: Furch OM Custom (they call it Rainbow) with a cedar top and mahogany body. It has a slightly deeper body and an open-pore finish. The closest model from their standard series is the Furch OM-CM (affiliate link): geni.us/2GfUPeA

    Sounds really great! What are you using for the bass sound? Is it just an octavizer from the HX Stomp or an iOS app?

    • @max_yar_guitar
      @max_yar_guitar  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks! The bass sound in this video was created using the HX Stomp with an octaver effect. However, iOS apps with octaver plugins also work well with Loopy Pro. One great option is the free BYOD plugin, which includes an octaver. I actually made a video on how to recreate the sound of the Boss OC pedal using iOS plugins th-cam.com/video/RnPYgFJmYMo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=CIVOfxsJMoMC529u

    Dear Max. I’m a fan of your work. Today I’ve just bought the Jam Book, lifetime version. Looking forward to learn a lot from you. I’ve didn’t got the name of the app you are talking about. Is it One Shot? Is it difficult to use? Will you have lessons on it (in the future) on your Jam Book course? All the best. Keep the juices flowing.

      Thank you so much! That’s awesome to hear! 😊 Yes, the app is called OneShot, and no, it’s not difficult to use. It works just like any other instrument loaded into Loopy Pro. I hadn’t planned a dedicated lesson for it in the Jam Book course, but I might create one separately on Patreon. I’ve been thinking about posting extra lessons there. Thanks again, and enjoy the course!

    Hey Max! That sounds awesome, man. I'm already using an MC8 for my MIDI foot pedal, but I've been wanting to add a MIDI drum pad like the Akai as well. Can both the Akai and the MC8 be plugged into the USB hub together? How does Loopy Pro recognize this? Thanks! 🎸🥁😎

    • @max_yar_guitar
      @max_yar_guitar  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hey! Thanks!! Yes, you can connect multiple MIDI controllers to one USB hub, and they will work perfectly together. You can even connect Bluetooth-enabled MIDI controllers in parallel, and they’ll also function smoothly. In this video, I’m using HX Stomp, Akai, and Morningstar all plugged into a single USB hub. The best part is, this USB hub supports Power Delivery, so it also charges my iPad at the same time-super convenient. Here’s an affiliate link to the hub I use geni.us/s7Hhz
      I can’t say I 100% recommend the Akai LPD-8 (MK1). I bought mine second-hand, so it’s possible something is off with my specific unit. Sometimes, when I hit the pad very softly, it doesn’t respond. However, I don’t have experience with other pads, so I’m not sure if this is a general issue or just mine

      @@max_yar_guitar thanks so much! I didn’t realize you could connect more than one midi device into loopy pro. That opens up a lot of possibilities. Excited to try it out!

    I spot what looks like a midi loop... Sounds great. Is the octave down coming from the HX?

    • @max_yar_guitar
      @max_yar_guitar  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, that’s the MIDI loop in the beta version of Loopy Pro-I’m really hoping it’ll be available in the public release soon! The bass sound here is from my preset on the HX Stomp, but there are some great octave plugins available for Loopy Pro too. For example, the free BYOD plugin includes solid octaver options

  • @AkaTengu
    @AkaTengu 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Cool to see it integrated with other gear people might have, thanks. So looking at the comments this is an unreleased beta update that adds some sort of added midi functionality. For some reason I thought loopy pro could already control midi at least internally and swore externally was a thing already? Also automation. What are the current midi and automation capabilities of loopy pro and what is being added?

    • @max_yar_guitar
      @max_yar_guitar  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Loopy Pro already has a lot of MIDI functionality built in. It can both send and receive MIDI signals within iOS and also works with external hardware. I, for example, use it with my guitar processor, the HX Stomp, which lets me control presets and set the delay tempo directly from Loopy Pro
      For automation, could you clarify what you’re aiming for?
      As for the new beta features, I’ve mostly been exploring MIDI Looping and MIDI Loop Quantization so far - that’s what I was testing in the video
