awful system, not spawning with special is part of what killed d1 pvp, these devs are legit stupid
Yeah, they’ve really shot themselves in the foot with this one.
I feel like they hit a goldmine with the meter and this just goes against what everyone has been praising.
meter is dog shit, it promotes even more the laneing larry camp zone slow ass play style and its just not fun, this change is better because at least your not just camping zone for 3 min till someone makes a mistake destiny pvp is fun because its fast pace not because its a camp fest like CoD. this change isn't great either but its better, the best change would be go back to the old system and just fix their fuckin game and actually balance special weapons instead of trying to take a cop out change like this.

This new system sucks. The special meter was way better. At least we got to keep our ammo. Idk why they're making it so complicated now.

Comp feels terrible. Both the new gamemodes suck and the spawns suck even more. In combination with the terrible ammo situation. I dont know why they would change comp. I get trials testing or in labs but this feels terrible. Just as i felt like pvp was good again heck even great and then they made it so id rather ram my toes into a door.
I feel like comp is better than it was but their lobby balancing is dogshit and their point system is somehow worse. Why do I lose 200 points because my random DCs after the first death????

Special thing doesn't make sense. Basically give you a box of spawn every single round. No different than before the transmat special. Spawn with 2 shots each time. Makes no sense. But now it's kinda even worse. Lol
People were complaining how they need specials to compete in trails.
I feel like the new system buffs fusions and snipers because you now have more consistent special kills at range due to the increase in ammo if your team decides to play the special instead of map control around the objective. I would expect to see more snipers and fusions being utilized against players who like to use autos and pulses since those do a pretty decent job at tackling the more popular weapons being used right now.
Guys this is all part of testing to get baseline numbers next week they are limiting special and will take this data from both weeks and from using the meter to figure out what seems more balanced it will probably result in some combination of a special meter and limited ammo crates
The way they have it in the regular crucible now is perfect! Why change it to this BS? 🤦♂️

It's not good at all, just let me have special all the time. I didn't see the problem with it. Turning in D1 all over again. Eventually they are just going to take it away all together again.
@gordonblack6803 the problem is that people refuse to get good with a primary and just crutch onto their specials. Too many people spamming shotguns (especially conditional)
I didn’t mind the ammo boxes for the current comp modes which are not round-based.
But for round-based modes like trials this ain’t it
Hey I’m glad they try new stuff to see what works. This isn’t the play though. I think the more limited boxes might be better.
It's like what Cross was saying: there's no strategy anymore. Zero risk/reward from round to round. I'm conflicted about this change. On the one hand, it forces movement towards an objective. But on the other hand, it takes away any strategy required with deciding whether to hold onto the special ammo you have or to use it and hope your team comes out on top for the round. I think I'm mostly against this change and want the meter to come back. The best compromise I can think of is having a special ammo crate, just one that is shared, spawn on the second and sixth rounds (if necessary). Nothing on the first round, everyone starts with special ammo and a meter, then on the next round, the objective would be to attack the ammo crate to secure additional special to add onto whatever you have left. Then the fourth round would be the heavy round like always. That way, it pushes people towards an objective, yet still enforces strategy towards using the special ammo you currently have. Best of both worlds.

Special meter was not bad, it is the best way to do it skill wise. If something bungie should removes the special ammo on spawn and that's it. Earn you special ammo from the beginning.
Shototing and getin kills/damage not ruungin to a pilar or wall faster...
aside from the special changes, i was playing comp today and the new modes are definitely much more fun IMO. i like the fact it feels like skirmish from D1 and the other mode feels like hard point
This is my honest feedback of the new special ammo changes: this is one of the worst weeks in trials in a long time. It is especially hard for trials players who run solo to go flawless. One of the most problematic special weapons is the forerunner. Technically is always been a really massive issue even even before this ammo economy change but I cannot tell you how many countless times I have gone up against teams, running only forerunner this week and playing at a distance in the back of the map. in fact, it is so bad that out of the nine games that play to go flawless seven of the teams had at least one to two people running forerunner on the enemy. The only way to really counter of forerunner is it close to gap which is really difficult or their ammo by the corner. And I mean HUGE THE CORNER. It is especially difficult as a solo player who ends up being on the opposite end of the barrel with multiple people using it. Luckily I did flawless solo, but it was one of the hardest and most annoying weeks ago flawless as a solo player. It was already difficult to go solo ever since the March update. But with this ammo change it is really difficult this week going flawless solo. They need to revert this change. It simply does not work and the pacing of the game has been significantly slowed way too much as it makes people have to wait around special ammo, crease, and play at a distance, and of course makes them rely too much on special economy instead of focussing on primary gunplay. This should not even exist.
i think the better way to do this and tbh how i thought it was going to be from how it sounded was put an ammo box in each spawn like D1 and let every take it then
put one on the map not near zone to make people chose to fight for zone or fight for ammo.
it feels like they just reverted the meter and made it worse, now you don't spawn with 2 ammo if you run to two boxes you get 4 ammo! lol it's gonna be the same thing as before, not sure what they were tryna cook with this one.
I didn't even like the meter that much cause it was all people sitting in the back with autorifle/scout but this just feels like before but worse.

If they are going to do this special change might as well revoke the body shot damage change to compensate because all I’ve been fighting is glacioclasms and fusions dude I definitely prefer the meter mostly primary fights like i really hate people just rushing in with a fusion 25/7

Solo Qeue is so bad with this system. My two teammates usually split on the outside and inside crates leaving me to choose between one of them and letting the other die making it a 2v3. Special meter is definitely better.
Every single game for me this weekend as a solo was a combination of my partners going opposite of where the flag was, getting 2v1 and leaving me on a 2v3. Or worse having a 2v1 against the enemy and the teammate running back to the get the revive. And me losing the 1v1. I need to get better clearly lol

Honestly, just give 1 kill worth of special ammo on spawn per player. When you elim someone who has special ammo the game drops it onto your characters special reserves or into the empty mag of your special. No special brinks in ground for enemy to pick up and use. If you don’t use special when you die you give no special. Feels like it would be a far better option imo.
This is literally the worst weekend I've had. It's so bad, just special weapons and abilities. I miss primary gunfights

seems to be based on mag size, my gunnora’s axe also gets 3 per box and it has a mag size of 7

Special ammo is a big part of crucible but the crate idea is awful as it adds another obj to trials and doesnt make sense. However the stupid loading time special ammo was ass aswell as it was all side arms and autos and boring af. I liked the old way of every round u start with 2 bullet special ammo and even if u got more it reset.

yea they buffed the damage so they now do 81 to the head like they used to
They never used to do 81 our health was 30 points lower
When did they ever not 3 tap lol… They didn’t with explosive pay load if that’s what your taking about. They did fix the explosive payload bug and increase damage by a small percentage for non explosive payload hand cannons.
They were doing 79 to the head so the moment you were an ant out of optimal range it became a 4 tap. So they boosted the damage to 81 to the head
@@CollaateraL The used to have a far more aggressive bullet drop off due to only just 3 tapping at optimal, they have added a bit of forgiveness with the damage buff.

Idk i like it. Its chaotic and different. Special meter is hella boring tbh. Its just camping and hugging nuts which gets fucking old real quick for me.
Special meter requires skill. If you're the guy camping out back then you need to get your shjt together.

@@Cheekbeater skill, been there done that. It's just not as fun. I use hawkmoon on most maps and DMT on long ones and it's not hard. But as a solo, the options are much more limited when I have to carry 5/7 games.
I made a forum post on this topic that gained some traction and judging from the comments on it literally everyone hates ammo crates. Ammo bars were so much better
So crazy how fast frost just deletes a flawless weapon like it was nothing lol. When I can barley make it to the light house and keep whatever I get for nostalgia even if it's a shitty roll! LOL!
I may be the odd one out. But the special meter is bad. It promotes sitting in the back of maps just holdong lanes. Comp has been good this season so far. Being able to get special to challenge people that crouch in the back is much better then having to team shoot every fight. Im mainly speaking as a solo player.
For real, I cannot for my life get a legit 1v1 in this new sandbox, always a 2 or 3v1 and it's just so Zzzzz 2... sorry, boring

Really? I’m a solo player and didn’t mind the meter since it forced to to play off my team rather than with my team. I was playing pretty aggro with void titan dunes and 2x sidearm (forerunner drang/helio/keening) and I never had any issues securing my kills. I did however learn just how stingy I had to be with my nades lol

It felt like call of duty running into 3 autos or 3 pulse rifles. I just liked being able to snipe one of them cause 2v1 is much easier then 3v1. Idk. I just want the meta before beyond light back lol. Seems like back them no one was compling too much

I may be in the minority, but im really not a fan of the current sandbox. The primary usage is nice but just like year 1 it has devolved into teamshots and ability spam. Not enough hero moments, miserable solo experience
Guys don't give them any leeway, KEEP complaining even in week two. Let them know its a shit idea and we'll accept no variations of this

feel like comp is ruined too clash 3v3 is just full of people huddled up the entire time. survival at least had that higher intensity feel to it. special ammo transmat was a solid feel too instead of bricks around every corner

Bungie has made a lot of dumb decisions but this is the first time they did something that genuinely cannot be logically explained. They spent months with trials labs and checkmate and completely overhauled pvp to curb special ammo, but now they are putting so much special into trials that double special is a legitimate strategy. You can practically use a 140 sniper as a scout rifle.

Kinda crazy to see all the streamers saying they hate this weeks trials. I feel like the playing field was more level. It allowed the weaker players compete with the hardcore PvP people. The streamers just can’t handle not dominating the matches.
They probably just try out stuff, and what the community says the best they gonna keep probably

Comp is also a snowballing shitshow, between the single round modes, special crates and drop on death, single zone campfest.. I don't know man. They take on step forward and then backflip as hard as possible.

I don't like the new system. Because rather than playing to take map control you play to take the crate and it feels so forced because of how good special weapons are. If you don't have green you'll probably lose. I doubt the "restricted" version will change my mind.

That’s just a dumb take because that’s EVERY community with ANY change. Cod does a recoil pass? Boom it’s too much, no it’s not enough. Siege is the same thing, so is LoL, WoW, BF, etc. Anything that happens will have the supporters and the naysayers. Just look at polictics ffs “those damn liberals”, or it’s “those damn conservatives”
It forces people to move, and the chances of mistakes are higher = quicker games
Trials of Forerunner. Definitely top 3 least fun metas, right behind shatter dive and arblest lol. Trials with primaries has been really enjoyable, don't know why they even thought about this.

I can safely say I picked the worst weekend to come back to Trials.
it certainly feels more tense, i kinda like the whole mind game of who's going for which ammo. though ammo placement may need some adjustment, but not by much it feels.
