At Disneyland in Anaheim, CA, when Tomorrowland is refurbished, they could bring back the new Peoplemover with windows and air conditioners without motorized tracks. It must be completed by 2026.
@@johnwray9890 unfortunately OSHA would never approve it without a complete rebuild of the tracks because they’re in such disrepair. It would require a lengthy closure of a bunch of other Tomorrowland attractions all at once.
I miss the peoplemover I rode it as a kid in the late 80s til it closed in the mid 90s. My whole family loved it you could sit and relax and get out of the sun. Why was it ever closed!?
Tomorrowland at its peak. Well, maybe a little past it, since America Sings was closed by this time. Everything else was still there, even Mission To Mars.
Of the hundreds of thousands that rode this ride a couple people with very bad judgement are lost. So we all must pay the price? So if a couple people run out onto the freeway and get killed, we must shut down the freeway? Its not a perfect world and never will be.
Disneyland's Peoplemover wasn't removed because of deaths. When it transitioned to Rocketrods, it damaged the setup because it wasn't designed for a ride of that kind.
CoasterChick22 This Disneyland does not have that ride for now. After the completion of Star Wars Land in 2019, this could return without motorized tracks around 2021-2023.
1989 was wonderful time to be a child good time,s
great document of a beloved attraction. thanks for sharing. crazy to think the little one in the video is in her 30s now!

11:52; that mural is similar to the children from It’s a Small World, in my opinion.
You're right! The mural was designed by artist Mary Blair, who also designed the It's A Small World attraction.
no. the track and station is still there just reminding people what use to be Tomorrowland. It's a sad sight to see.
zac613 i dont understand why thay just dont bring it back to disnyland. Or did thay bring it back? I herd a roomer that thay would bring it back.

Ahhh I miss going up the escalator to Space Mountain
Thank you very much, WDW's TTA is great, but nothing compares to the original! Plus this is an incredible transfer too!

Part of the Star Tours tunnel was so dark and scary, so DAH-ARK and scaaaaaryyyyy, and so was another tunnel
excatly rock rods was way too expensive to maintain. they had to replace the tires every night.
why did they ever get rid of this ride? Bring it back!
Because people became uninterested in it and it became a thing of the past
That bayby in the video probly has kids of its own now. Lol

No but Orlando Disney still has it. The one in Anaheim closed in 1995.
I was born in 1989.
Me Too
they have a ride like this at California Gilroy gardens
and Florida Disney World
my thoughts exactly. People were skinny back then weren't they?
8:39 Motor Boat Cruise!! :)
Why did They take this out?
Because the ride was past its time didn’t become the future anymore other then to rest peoples feet so they shut it down to save money.
AMEN!
Disneyland was was better when you were a child
The skyway is broken down in that video
You were on "Engine, Engine Number Nine" LOL
Ricky Lee yama and gerado Gonzales died on this ride
No, Sky Buckets got the leading vote.
A few people died on this ride, Even though its the slowest ride at the time.
...And in the category of illegal acts in the park, best ride on which to flame-up; the winner is...THE PEOPLEMOVER!
If they had closed it because of the deaths it would have been closed by the first year. Someone died whle riding it in 1967.
