Uli, these videos are so dang helpful. If a disc company put out this series, the solution would be, "Buy this disc which will solve all your problems!" Thanks for caring about the players.
You are doing a great service to humanity by making these videos. I started when I was 19 years old in 1998 and it's time to step up my mediocre game play.
Thanks Paul. This dropped early morning here in Australia and I immediately grabbed a couple of discs and went up to try this out. Wow. Possibly the best tip I've received since starting 12 months ago. Thanks again for this excellent series.
Absolutely love these DTF videos.- Uli is out here educating dudes man.- This is what I needed to here.- Last round I played I felt my timing was badly off.- Lead to shots leaking out super early, and poor scoring.- No consistency.- The last 5/6 holes I started focusing hard on just slowing myself down, dialing it back and I played much better (it was too late for my score but I felt better).- That slowing down was more focused on not trying to rip every shot, but I'm going to take Uli's advice here and add that to my entire shot.- Slow my feet, slow my upper body, focus on syncing up my timing.- Great to hear that from a pro...
thanks so much for these Uli! I don't know what it is, but your drills seem to just make things click for me! Saw HUGE improvement after working the 20ft forehand drill! Can't wait to work on this one!
ok, I've watched all 18 of your videos, I in about 30-40 minutes. I appreciate the well thought out originality and consistency of structure of all the videos, you have figured how to present and edit a series of TH-cam videos, it was easy to progress to the next one. Good content, I learned several things that will accelerate my evolution as a disc golfer. Stay humble, keep working hard.
This is exactly the advice I needed to hear, I've been trying to fix my timing the wrong way and basically just running into a wall. Love these videos, thanks!
I tend to do a little of everything mentioned here. In the shorter shots and still doing the walk up, I always think I am doing too much for the shot and I second guess my approach mid shot. I need to commit to my shot. These are great videos Uli.
This explained so much to me! A week ago I had a round where all of my drives felt super comfortable and went where I wanted and went far and I, honestly Mx couldn’t figure out why. But I watched one of those throws and my timing on them was perfect. So, now I just have to try and do that consistently 😬
Love it man. Thank you! Came from baseball and I’m used to swinging my hips like a right handed disc thrower from my batting stance (I’m a lefty) so transferring my weight through my hips that way is natural. Now throwing my discs left handed on the other side, my hips and feet are all over the place lol. Gotta learn all over again. Thanks for all the tips!
If you ever find yourself looking for something to cover, I keep finding myself wondering about the connection/difference between spin vs. mph. I realize that connection and difference don't really go together even though I put a / between them, but that's sort how my understanding of the two work as well, so I'm going with it.
This is really helpful! As a newer player I always seem to feel off balance and swing my leg around after my pull through causing me to round. I’ll definitely do this drill hopefully it helps!
Love the series Paul, can you do a video on learning how to win, how to finish... i finish top 2-3 almost every tournament, 1-3 or 4 strokes out of first way too many times , and its not hard to find those strokes that cost me , one bad hole , 3 putts i should of made, 3 more i could of made, 4 years in and i am close but i keep letting them get away. Getting over the top, learning how to win, those are the things i am always thinking about now. I have some wins but not as many as i could of. ... I am sure its mental, .Thanks Paul , your a great teacher of the game !
I have a terrible problem with reaching back too early. I've been working on fixing it but then video myself and realize im still reaching back a step too early. Any pointers on fixing that would be greatly appreciated!
as a new player 1yr-i find my self -trying to have fast arm speed with slower foot work-probably due to wanting more distance. this will be something to try as it seems that control is more important than distance
These videos are very informative! Would you mind doing one on back-hand follow through? Seriously don't think I've ever seen someone do one. I keep finding myself falling forward on my throws.
I’m definitely guilty of the slow run up and fast pull through. I’m trying to match my reach back when my front foot touches but notice the next day the back of my shoulder and arm are too sore. Looks like it’s time for more practice 👍
Timing is definitely the hardest thing to learn, and the hardest thing to teach. The few times I've happened to accidentally get it right, the power potential was crazy. Hoping some day soon it syncs up and I can get past this 350-400 plateau. I know that I'm using too much arm, and trying to muscle shots because my timing isn't on point.
Uli: see how the very slow run up and ultra-fast whip causes problems with the timing. Tristan Tanner: Hold my beer. all in good fun... thanks for the great content Paul.
I like the idea Uli. I personally will do a stand still or use a single step even for shots >200ft. I feel I need a serious full run up at 250ft+. That's likely a serious anomaly. I could benefit from this because I feel like I have 450ft+ power but my timing and technique being way off limits me to 350-375ft. Clearly something is seriously off.
most of timing is practice. But good effective practice. I see a lot of people practicing to throw far by trying to throw far. However they may have heard danny lindahl say something about slow is far. So their feet go slow but their arm goes quick. But you need to practice going both slow and link it up. I’ve never put the two together until you just did. Thanks. But if you do want to see how far you can throw after a lot of field work sessions thats when you go fast feet and fast arm.
Love your content, man. Your videos have helped me in so many ways over the past couple months. Keep it up! If I could give you a small critique on your videos? Instead of saying, "That's it for this episode of down the fairway", I would just say, "That's it for this episode". Saying down the fairway twice at the end sounds redundant to me. It's up to you, but I think your signoff would sound cleaner if you just say, "That's it for this episode", pitch all your social medias, and then say, "I'll see you down the fairway" at the end.
Great content. I don't think you need to be to scared off going more into depth about the drill and how to continue further with it though. The reasoning is very clear, but it won't hurt to develop a bit more where the end goal is - Should people start slow and move their way up to bombing max speed? Should you just keep it slow and have it "cement" the timing to then be subconciously applied to higher power shots? (Questions that appear in my head as I am a beginner). I realize that you want to keep a very short video format though. It's a balance.
good video, oh sorry, i mean ‘content’ 😁 One thing with this is a lot of pros say to build from slow to fast. how do you drive fast if your feet can only go so fast. i mean your upper body must be going faster than your feet to drive 600’ surely. But I get the concept for short shots. Thanks
This series is criminally underwatched. Straight to the point. Good information.
Uli, these videos are so dang helpful. If a disc company put out this series, the solution would be, "Buy this disc which will solve all your problems!" Thanks for caring about the players.
I remember the days of buying "fast" discs thinking it would make me throw farther. How wrong I was.
@@dustman96 Most people who play bad even after a few years of playing suck because they started with a destroyer and refuse to disc down anyways.
the problem with most new discs is I'm still the one throwing them
Nobody talking about the dude at 3:35 that threw his disc into the tree lol. Also, good video, thanks Uli
Good tip...I'm the type who goes slow in the lower body and fast in the upper.
You are doing a great service to humanity by making these videos. I started when I was 19 years old in 1998 and it's time to step up my mediocre game play.
First time I heard this tip. Simple and effective, thanks =)
I never hesitate to watch your channel because your vids are short and concise
Best disc golf series on YT right here folks 👏
Wish I did “see you down the fairway” lol love the tip as my timing is often off, 👍🏼
Love these episodes! Wish they were longer! I haven’t missed a single one!!
You're killing it with these short videos! This is the most helpful stuff I have seen lately.
Yup, exactly what I needed.
Great advice from my favorite player! Keep them coming!
Good job editing and making these videos short and concise. Tips are much appreciated!
Thanks for the tip, Uli ! Helpful as always... 👍🏼. BTW, that first rip shot totally cracked me up, Paul! 😂
Loving Down the Fairway and really really enjoying you and Big J with the Joemez commentary!!
Really have been enjoying these Uli. Thanks so much!!
Great advice. Subscribed! Thanks, Paul.
Thank you so much man. I am not very good at my backhand and this helps me a lot
Got a new subscriber Paul, thanks for the great lesson.

Thanks for this post Uli! I am definitely going to put these tips on timing to good use. 👍 👍
Sweet stuff Uli! Bought two raptors last week. Play mostly forehand. What a disc!
Can’t wait to see you put this all together in the new show. Really appreciate the help you provide.

Great stuff as always! Your going to make pros with these videos, master Jedi. Thanks Paul you da bomb!
Great body mechanics drills👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 thanx Uli
Most excellent... thanks
I just had some promising practice following this advice. Thank you for putting out such a unique timing video with a straightforward drill!
Uli you are the man! Thank you for your content.
These series are really good, keep up!
Great work bro 😎
Simple yet sooo effective! Keep them coming!
Thanks so much Uli finally realized my feet were moving too slow, finally broke 300ft in my throw thank you!!!
Thank you! This was a perfect piece of advice for what I am currently working on. You rock!!!
I’m going out to play today and this advice made something click in my head. I’m excited to see what kind of difference this’ll make. Thanks so much!
So how did it go?! Jasha?!
Really, really like your tips.
Something I’ve been struggling with. So excited to go out these drills to use to improve my game. Let’s see how it plays out!!!
This could probably apply to forehand drives as well, going to check myself on this tomorrow!
Awesome! I've been working on compacting my swing on shorter shots. Guess I've been rotating my torso a bit faster. Great video Uli!
I tend to do a little of everything mentioned here. In the shorter shots and still doing the walk up, I always think I am doing too much for the shot and I second guess my approach mid shot. I need to commit to my shot. These are great videos Uli.

Almost came down to pinetop this last weekend. Really wish I did now
Thanks for the help

I always thought the most natural disc golfer would be a right-handed throwing, left-handed batter. Best of both worlds.
great advice thank you, keep it up!
You bet!
Nice tips!
Can you do another one of these with faster speeds 🙏🙌❤️

Every time I throw in the fairway I look for you Uli......
Just now found this video and am wondering if timing will help me keep my plant foot at 90 degrees or is that just mental?? Help please!
Yep happened to me once accidentally and i parked one hole what is 120m what is almost 400 ft when usually my good drives end up in circle 2.
Same boat here bro, usually around 350-375 max and last week at league I parked a 398 ft hole to miss the putt lol.
Another good one, the last drill helped dial in my forehand up shots with my ZONE 👍🏻😎🥏
Uli: see how the very slow run up and ultra-fast whip causes problems with the timing.
Tristan Tanner: Hold my beer.
all in good fun... thanks for the great content Paul.
Nice vid
Any tips for linking up your upper and lower body? I don't feel like my legs are playing any role in the shot.
Great vid. Does this mean I have to practice to get better at disc golf?
I like the idea Uli. I personally will do a stand still or use a single step even for shots >200ft. I feel I need a serious full run up at 250ft+. That's likely a serious anomaly. In the section below.
Paul, do you ever get dislikes?
