from the lowry, manchester on 06/04/2008 introduction jon naismith introduces the panel and of course the chairman. humph then pays homage to salford and manchester in the only way he knows how.
I hear Samantha has been keeping busy. Recently she's been helping the old archivists with their new sound insulation. Tomorrow, she's going to get acoustic tiles up in the studio, and if there's time, she's hoping to get felt up in the office...
Samantha has been down in the Record Archives earlier collecting the discs for the teams. She's been getting on very well with the two friendly archivists, Jack and Arthur, and has drawn up schedules for everyone to follow. So today while Samantha sorts out the paper work, Arthur gets her 45s out, and Jack's off all afternoon.
not many things are funny to me as I get older, but I can listen to old ISIHAC shows over and over and be in tears. And this cast here, in my opinion, is the best of all time, though I miss WIllie, too.
Stephen Fry's snide replacing Humph's grumpy old wish-I-wasn't-here persona ? I dunno. Littleton could do read double entendres off the page with such perfect delivery playing it off like he wasn't really aware what he's said - no one would buy that from Fry, who won't be able to resist putting that little aren't-I-clever twist in his voice.
I'm paraphrasing here, but you get the gist- "In her long and distingished career, Kate Adie has attended the scene at dozens of wars, earthquakes, floods, famines, etc. She recently came home to Sunderland when she was invited to launch a ship. The crew shot an Albatros for good luck." Classic Humph.
Samantha is off on a dinner date with a gentleman friend from Moscow who's brought over a variety of caviars and an array of vodka-based aperitifs. She says he's going to offer her delicious food in his hotel room and then liquor out on the balcony...
@noahbald Oh yes she does, she's sitting on my left hand as I'm typing this very slowly with one finger. She says she'd like me to use more fingers, but I haven't yet finished picking my nose.
Well, three shows into the post-Humph era and the show sounds as good as ever. Personally, I like Jack Dee's hosting the most - his "sheltered housing" ad-lib was pure Humph!
He looked rather gaunt there - and 19 days later died. A great loss. I'd like to think I'd still be doing something I enjoy and others liked right up until I died. And my thoughts are often with, 'the delightful Samantha'.
This was recorded live by the BBC I believe? Do you or does anyone have the whole thing please? Would LOVE to see that or longer clips of the live tour. Thanks if you can upload.
Samantha's been round to see her friend Snow white, they had some good fun. They both had 7 up, before relaxing with a sparkling glass of lemon and lime...
Good old Humph, a gent and the best ex Etonian Guardsman jazz trumpeter ever
There is a clear crisp copy of the whole show now on TH-cam

Gboomaga h
Humph will be missed in all our hearts.
I cannot believe BBC would do this with anybody else!
The way Humph looks round in apparent astonishment at the entire room collapsing in hysterics at the 38Bs joke. Genius.

Any idea what episode that was from?
One of the great and the good. RIP Humph. We will miss you.

Absolutely brilliant. Especially as I come from the heap of rubble known as Bolton! 😂
