LS V8 only LS engines and Manual gearbox.
Some of the kompressor engines have about 3600hp.
Some nitrous engines about 2500hp.

This randomly popped up in my recommended only 3 years late however using NOS spray onto intercoolers is quite common there are many import cars in the modified car scene here that use this technique :)

none of you realize how vertical this sand dune is, its Called "tal Mireb" which means the fearsome dune/hill, i went last year its amazing to watch and hear those engines.

I am an American living in the ME. I have attended this event for three years running now. I also have a video on You Tube recorded on the very same day as this video. As I read the comments here, once again I am reminded of the ignorance the media promotes to Americans and Westerners. I understand how strongly some may feel about the ignorance of extremists that have hijacked the modern conception of the Middle East. In many cases rightfully so. And there certainly are valid criticisms of certain cultural or religious beliefs in certain areas of the ME, just as there are in America or elsewhere. But most of the ignorant comments are from people that have no clue of the diversity of the area. I look back at the States right now and see people killing each other left and right over racism and the prevalence of hatred and crime and I think to myself, 'who is really the most ignorant?' I love living here and I love the people here. To those spewing their hatred here, please do a little more research before you open your mouth.

I want to see engines blowing up, i want to see a truck get to the top because of its crazy torque and horsepower, not because he has good sand tires. Who cares about tires when there's a 3600hp v8 doing an 7 second pass in sand, up hill without any race grade bullshit. This is a race of pure power and power alone.

that seems like a lot of torque for a conventional gearbox especially with the driver basically sitting on top of it.
i hope they have good scatter shields or blankets.

Can someone explain what was happening at the beginning? I am no car guru, so what were they spraying into the engine? Is that fuel onto the carburetor? What did the guy take off of the engine? Is that something to help start it up?

***** Nitrious doesn't burn by it's self, it needs a fuel source. It's basically just concentrated liquid air an oxidizer.

But in the beginning of the video you are correct, they are priming with fuel, whatever it may be.

Because that's what they've got most likely.
N20 will do the same as CO2 as far as cooling. The practice of chilling your inter-cooler with N20 is common.
I'd use CO2 myself as I feel like it's safer but both work just fine. The way this guy is doing it, is pointless, nothing but fog is being made. That inter-cooler needs a lot more then that to be effective.
NO2 needs an oxidizer to start a flame, just it alone is safe enough to use in your freezer!
