As a woman I've never had anyone talk with me about my face shape and how I might like my hair once it's cut. Fortunate fellow to find this stylist.

As a woman I have had stylists discus the face shape, the good ones that take their craft seriously, care about the self esteem of the customer and understand that the quality of their work is advertising for them.

I wish I could find a hairdresser who took that much time and effort, asking me what I wanted and telling me what was feasible, before he started to cut.

Fantastic job that took this lad from High School Man-Bun to very handsome, young professional. I have naturally curly hair, and I had some NIGHTMARE cuts when I was young. Great to listen to someone who knows how to work with curls or wave.

Watched the whole process and this Barber reeeeally does a fantastic job of explaining and then working to the customer. He appears to be an expert who ENJOYS his work!!!
It's unbelievable how good he looks afterwards compared to before. A very good haircut can really change a life.
Also Dan looks even better after losing weight. For me he has somehow always been the same age for years and is now 5 years younger after losing weight 🙌🏻

He should have just cut the long hair a little shorter all over, not just at the bottom, and he would have looked so handsome with a messy cut, and cute too. I agree with you, just a bit shorter would have suited him. I didn’t like the back and sides of this cut. There are so many guys who have it and I find it detracts from what I find to be attractive. In fact I thought he would have looked much better if he’d asked for the barber’s own hairstyle!

Man you can see the enthusiasm in Dan at 17:00 - he really sees the potential (that he probably already sees in his head) right there and shared it with his client. Dan is not only a top notch barber, but you can see he just loves his job.
I think it's normal for Oli to just "smile" a bit at the end - I mean he had long hair for so many years, it's probably more of a (pleasant) shock to see the final result. But I'm sure he will get a lot of "wows" from his friends and family and he will be really happy with it, especially with the versatility in this haircut.
With those cheekbones long, short, medium he can take it all.
It was interesting to see his face change from concern after you cut the top off to relaxed pleasure when he saw the tapering results bring the cut together. He really did like the cut and it looks neat on him. Your detailed consultation is superb.

@@youtubecanal86 Why does it need to be changed? Isn't that the whole point of hairstyles, to be able to transform the "vibe" of oneself through different ways of wearing hair? Of course people are perceived differently depending on how they wear their hair and where they are wearing it. That isn't nessessarily a negative thing at all, just a very human thing. Changing hair to manipulate perception is the power that we all have. And it is also exactly why, when trying to control others, hair is one of the go-to tools. That is the whole Samson story... there is power in how we wear our hair. It is also why the military requires certain hairstyles only. Hair communicates so much. I've watched my best friend go through breast cancer and the stages of hair loss and regrowth and how that impacts how she perceives herself and how other perceive her.
I'm just loving how detailed this cut is and how it is talked through on what is happening. Customers all look so confident in trusting the process. Wicked

As usual the cut is great but I think the young man was in shock. He will likely feel better about it in a couple weeks when he's used to it. I think going from long to short hair with no intermediate cut is often too shocking, even if the end cut is fine. He has a beautiful face and perhaps should look into modelling or acting.( BTW, I wish Dan could cut my hair, and I'm a 77 year old woman, but still rockin' style). Dan is sooo talented.

It's really a very nice detailed look. I like how Dan listens to the client, and then offers a better compromise to go with the clients needs, face shape, hair color and texture etc. I liked his long hair, but sometimes we need a change up!
