The thing that impresses me the most about this isnt the art, but the way he makes it, complete silence, it just shows how focused he is when making it, no distractions, no "getting excited" just pure ice cold focus...
everytime i see this video, a small part of my inner vagabond is dying. would've loved to see the series ending. nevertheless i can understand that if you force an artist to end a series just for the sake of it, it's just not worth it. so maybe he will one day be interested in the series again. such a good artist
I know a guy from a really big manga publisher here in Argentina (Editorial Ivrea), where I live. He is a friend of Takehiko Inoue, like, really friend. Everytime he travel to Japan, they met and share a dinner together and stuff. He told these guy I know that he is gonna finish Vagabond in the future. It's just that he want to spend time with his kids, because they are soon to be teenagers, and wanna enjoy these part of their life to the fullest. Once that's all over, he's gonna continue with Vagabond. This was told to us in an interview the publishers did in April 2021 I bealive, so it's pretty recent.

If he can pick up Slam Dunk again the fans will be very happy but i think the possibility is low. Just respect any decision. It's a fortune for us to have this great artist and his work.

My point is his style reminds me of how Ross draw his work, the realistic detailed facial expressions and environment, but Ross, in that field, is still the God. You can read Kingdom Come just to experience the grandness of his works.

But it's specific for *Japanese comic.* That's why Korean use the word 'manhwa' and Chinese use 'manhuà' to represent their respective comics. Because while all the words directly translated as 'comic', each of them specifically meant to represent the respective culture where they originated from. Otherwise, every comic in the world would be just the same with no diversity.

Seriously, this is ridiculous. It is way too mindblowing that we as a species have gotten to the point where an artists literally paints Renaissance-like life-sized panels with brushes for a manga series over 100 chapters, and we still haven't figured out capitalism destroying our planet.

Well, no one really know why he stopped, but he was doing both Vagabond and Real at the same time.
