  • An In-depth look at how the track 'Headroom' taken from the 'Soulmagnet' LP on Virus Recordings (Out on October 29th!) was constructed and produced, made by the man himself, Audio. This tutorial covers all of the processes, effects and programming involved in making a professional quality bass music track, from sounds, drums & bass to mixing the track. Hope you enjoy!

This is easily one of the most informative videos i've seen when it comes to production. No fumbling about and direct to the point. Intelligent and generous people like you are what this world needs. Heads up!

I like how he says you're not going to be humming this tune down the road. I've had it stuck in my head for ages DUN dun dun dun dun dudu dun dun dun dun dun dududu!

Ozone doesn't like a clipped signal going into it so camel phat just brickwalls the signal to 0db before going into ozone and also thickens the top end slightly which takes the 'digital' edge off the mix. The the ozone maximizer is used to gain extra overall level, be careful to use his settings with dynamics not being completely lost by overuse.

You have no idea how much of a service this is to new producers. Most producers never want to divulge their methods, thank you Audio for pushing the entire community forward. :)

the best thing about this tutorial is that it's not covering basics and goes straight into the more advanced stuff. So much sick info!

Yep the basics are the VERY easy part... But learning all the nasty small and large tricks is the very hard part...

I've been listening to DNB for 20 years and I've never ever heard production quality like yours....ever! And to share your techniques with us is just more armor to solidify your greatness. Tony from Hospital says it repeatedly that your are underrated and I couldn't agree more. This video should have 1,000,000 views not 50,000. Everything to the fact...no this/that/other bull....just get-it-done tips and technique. Now off to the studio while the inspiration and enthusiasm tanks are to the rim!! And the ENTIRE Soulmagnet LP is amazing....every track just pure production excellence and madness!!! Thank you Audio.

Just watched this and really nice of you to go that depth into it. Hats off to Audio and Virus Recordings. A lot of producers have things preset when they do tutorials, so very nice of you to actually show a step by step building of a track... Thank you. :)

Hello Audio & Thanks for your performance at Star Warz this weekend.
I briefly met you at the entrance wishing you a good show, and man what a set it was. You've put Ghent on fire. Mad props for that. Continuing that reasoning I stumbled upon your Production Tutorial Video.
What I enjoy about this explanation is that you're not dumbing down your audience. The things we should know when producing music you're not stepping into detail. Instead, you show us in detail how you personally do things.
I guess that's why we watch production videos anyways.
About your setup, interesting that you use CamelPhat to Level things out. I usually use it to transform the sound, but it apparantly can be used for just the opposite. Also the sidenote that if you can be creative with over-used plug-ins such, you should is a true statement. What I've also noticed is that production-wise you like to keep things simple. Which makes perfect sense.
I realised this is a pretty lengthy post, but i just wanted to express my gratitude.
    Thanks!

because its all about what you can do with your preferred audio workstation, some producers who use fruity loops can make better tracks than people who use logic for example. It just depends on how you like to work and what you can do with your workstation of choice

It doesn't matter if its a penguin mating call that is distorted and reversed, if it adds to the song use it.
