I saw Robby and his son live 20 years ago in Seattle in a very small club in the Ballard neighborhood, it was at the old Ballard Firehouse if memory serves correct, and they tore the place up! I went downstairs to their private lounge area after the show and sat down next to Robby on a couch and chatted with him for a spell, got an autograph on his recent solo CD release and all that jazz. Robby was a very sweet, humble man, and so was his son. A very cool experience, and nobody was interested in coming along with me, and I was like "Hello, this is Robby Krieger of The Doors?!" Oh well, their loss, my gain.

Nice! No one sounds like him, I've played this song myself on my gigs a million times and have seen a gazillion other guitarists playing the iconic intro but as soon as he started I was "that's the real deal".
The way he uses stacatto, the accents, the semi dead notes in between strong ones, haha, it's all unique, no one does it like Robby.
It was a pelasure to watch.
    Cheers from Brazil!

Thank you, sir. I had the honor of seeing The Doors twice- the first time at the Berkeley Community Theater in November of 1966. You started the set with Break On Through, as the stage rose and the dry ice smoke drifted through the lights. Unforgettable. Again, it's an honor to have you share this.

Went to the Fillmore in San Francisco to see the Doors for my first time. It was shortly after their 1st album came out, which was fantastic. After listening to it for weeks, then hearing the Doors were coming to the Fillmore, I had to go see them. Back then it was not a big deal. No advanced tickets, pay at the door. It was not a big venue, an old dance hall. Very casual and open atmosphere, hippy stuff. I remember between sets seeing Robbie and Jim hanging out like everyone else. Robbie was at the bar on the main floor. Probably drinking fruit juice or soda. There was no alcohol served because you did not have to be 21 years of age to get in, and that was the legal drinking age in California. I remember my friend commenting on his white jacket he was wearing. Upstairs in the back of the hall there was another smaller bar. Up on the wall by the table and chairs there were bills or posters advertising earlier dances that were held at the Fillmore. I guess you could say they were psychedelic works of art, lol. I was intently looking at this one of a Native American Indian with long hair, a top hat and swirly targets where his eyes should be. When I was done looking I glanced to my right and lo and behold was Jim Morrison standing next to me spacing out on the same picture, hehe. Naw, I did not say anything to him. That is how casual and low flowing ( or maybe high flowing? ) things were around that music scene back in 1967.
