    People don’t realize he was 2nd team all defense last year as well as being an offensive DAWG in college. Grizzlies just scapegoated him hard and screwed up the narrative towards him. His “bounce back” has been well deserved.

    • @Zett76
      @Zett76 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ah. An college DAWG... wow.
      *g*
      His "bounce back" will end when he screws his team again, by walking his mouth, again. :)

      Ppl might realize that but he's a douchebag which is the primary issue. People don't think that being a douchebag is cool or worthy of praise. It should stay that way.

    • @arcadion448

      People do realize that, we all know what happened. Grizzlies are desperate to protect Ja Morant and it was the Grizzles who made Brooks the scapegoat and forced the media to sell that narrative. NBA has a huge influence on what the media will cover (otherwise you don't get special access), but independent YT channels have been calling BS on Brooks being the team's issue.

      I think the answer could be really easy: he knows he's in the NBA because of his defense and he lives by it. But as a defense minded player you need a go-to-guy in your team you can trust to carry the team and you have to believe that this player is doing his job. Would you trust Morant to be this guy? Than he played side-by-side with Shai as the main-option for team canada and Dillon teamed up with him so great. I'm so happy for canada and can't wait to see these guys at olympia.
      Now Dillon can be the adult in a quiet well coached team in houston looking for the main guy. Green or Sengun or both and Dillon as the headseeker behind works great so far.

      I didn't say he was a "good defender"
      It seems your reading capabilities are low. Dillion Brooks may be an average-above average defender but he hustles and it is clear he has his uses, however limited they may be.
      Just because he is average and not among the best defenders doesn't mean Grizzlies lost or were bad because of him.
      This is just throwing all blame to throw someone under the bus.
      The others had to take responsibility as well. But it is easier to push the guy who is already hated like 'Here, this guy was all our problems! He poked a bear! Hate him, not us.'
      An organization that does this simply lacks the winning cultire and mentality. Thus it is karma for them ti struggle this season despite all their talent. Culture and mentality is important.

      He gets all the hate he deserves for acting like a dumbass. He can redeem himself by not being a dickhead. It's not really that hard. Dude's a decent player, but you gotta back that shit talk up or else it backfires pretty hard as he might be learning

    • @cameronschmit6472
      @cameronschmit6472 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@fy4072 I reject the notion he was “thrown under the bus”. He played objectively terrible in that lakers series. I don’t think he was blamed for their loss at all. Jackson was on the JJ pod and stood up for brooks quite a bit. And if you don’t think he’s a good defender then he’s got nothing and idk why you’re riding him
      Edit; I should say he was blamed the correct amount, he got his criticism for how he played.

If you had a sprint race from hoop to hoop he's losing that race to most BUT HIS COMPETITIVE HEART IS SOOOOO GIANT & HE MAXIMIZES EVERY OUNCE OF EFFORT HE CAN TAKE THE BEST PLAYERS IN NBA OUT OF GAMES LITERALLY LIKE A FANTASY SUPER HERO BECAUSE PHYSICS & EINSTIEN CAN'T MAKE LOGICAL SENSE OF IT. He has his flaws like everyone except MJ but his NUCLEAR POWER EFFORT IS UNCHARTABLE & I'm RIDING WITH BROOKS & LEARNING FROM HIS AMAZING DRIVE EVERYTIME I WATCH HIM. Imagine if every American put that 110% effort into their job like he does our companies & country would be so much more powerful. CHEERS TO OREGON ALUMNI DILLION BROOKS!🍻

      @@chazzx1018 a good player is someone who always plays good, not for 10 games or half a season, or even just one seqson, a good player always plays well.
      Why are you all so quick to label someone good after 10 games? You all are so thick 🤣

      @@rezarfar Yeah, you're definitely a hater. I guess Brooks doesn't care about your opinion considering he's a professional basketball player who is getting paid for it. You are commenting on a pro athlete from your couch, please spare me your stupid opinions.

    Why would you get rid of your Draymond, Dennis Rodman, Patrick Beverley type guy? Every team needs a talented dirty work player

    He's not making Memphis look silly, he's making himself look not quite so bad...so far.
    You all are discounting that maybe he learned his lesson and calmed down. Maybe he looked at his behavior and decided to change. That doesn't make everyone else look stupid, that makes him look smarter than we thought he was.

    The fact that the rockets are doing better than the grizzlies right now is crazy. Every great team needs that dirty guy. Whether that guy be on the bench or starting. Why do you think the warriors put up with Draymond😂😂😂 Yea the grizzlies were wrong and should have figured out how to develop him more instead of thinking he wasn't part of there success.

    I just don’t like cockiness, he’s seems like a solid player. But the trash talk and peacock behavior makes it hard to root for the guy.
