When they're paired, Play:5s should be vertical, not horizontal. Because they have very heavily angled left/right drivers, when they're placed horizontally, the drivers facing each other are disabled automatically. By making them vertical, the entire speaker can continue to work
I have a play 5 in my garage man cave. In living room I have a sub, sound bar and two play 3s. Also have two play ones in kitchen. I also have the sonos move and the roam and move thoese randomly. My question is for my living room set up for movies, sports and regular TV and also music is it better to pair up two play ones or two play 3s with sub and sound bar? Or should I place the two play ones in living room two with rest of speakers?? One more question, when watching movies can I pair up the sonos move and roam with existing living room set up or no??
Really nice walk through...very well done! Sort of mind boggling that they didn't go with a Playbar and just add an el cheap-o echo dot in the room for Alexa voice control. That Beam just looks to pitifully small for such a large space. That's what I did with my set up and it's seamless and allows me to control my Playbar - no problem - more or less like a Beam, but minus the ARC-controlled capabilities, obviously (maybe that was also a driver on the decision for your client?). Also, brilliant wire management on mounting the rears. One last thing...tell your boy to NEVER...EVER...get caught dancing on video again...that was rough!?! ;) jk.
were you guys able to make the speakers connect and play videos from the tv? because of the huge latency i can’t figure out how to make it work properly
Hi bro i want to buy...sonos product as below. Sonos Arc Sub gen 3 Sonos 5 (2pcs) So,if i buy this above products. What does it call 5.1 channel or some thing else.please, let me know which is good choice sonos or klipsch?
Why didn’t you use some play ones instead of those big fives? In my system I have the playbass, the subwoofer and the two play ones with the Alexa as surrounds, sounds great and you don’t need to have those large speakers especially when the front speaker is less powerful than the rear speakers.
And this is a great example of why people hate salesmen, because they sell you the least appropriate solution just to make a buck. Play bar +play1’s for surround+ play sub would have been a far more appropriate setup for movies especially in the room that size and by my pricing, (current Australian) around the same price but would offer a far more immersive experience.
That would have saved you almost no money. the playbar is almost double the cost of the beam, and that would offset the price. This is not a cheap solution anyway you slice it. If they are selling you a Sonos solution in general "the salesman" isn't making crap off of you, there's no margin in Sonos, most guys hate selling/installing it in fact. They'd much rather sell a custom install, or at least a Heos system. So give this guy a break. Customer likely asked for this and they're obliging.
But those bigger speakers would make all of music straming you have in sonos app more enjoyable compared to small one speakers wchoch is nice to have in living room.
Would i be able to use two Play 5's and a sub for my tv? Because my idea was to use an optical cabel with an 3.5 mm adapter to plug in the cabel into one Play 5 do u think that would work? I mean it feels like it would anyway..
Curious if that is a 5.1 what is doing a processing. I know Sonos don’t build Dolby Anything is there Products. And I have yet to here of an affordable Tv that does Signal processing besides a Bang & Olufsen I believe they start around 10k. So what is actually directing the channels. Or is a dumb down version or what. I’ve only know TVs to do stereo. Just curious
The Beam works as the front and I believe separates the signals/sound fields. I have a Beam with Play1s in the rears and a Sonos sub. For me it sounds great and looks clean.
I was SO glad to see your video! I have the Sonos 5.1 system in my condo living room for TV and music, but I can't get it to sound right, no matter how much I change the settings in the sonos app. These might be dumb questions, but I would really appreciate knowing if I set it up wrong? 1. The speakers in your video are in the horizontal position. Do you have them that way for a better sound? 2. The builder put places in my walls to hook up surround sound speakers, and then covered the holes with flat plate covers. Would it make a difference if I attach the speakers to the wall or leave them on individual stands (like I have them now?) 3. My soundbar sounds great with movies, but barely does anything with music. Is it because I have the system set up with Alexa? 4. And lastly, I have the sub set up in the rear, between the speakers. Should that be up in front with the sound bar? And if so, does the sub need to be on the floor? I REALLY appreciate any help you can give me. I just moved to Idaho, and I'm not sure who I can ask. Thanks a bunch! Kathy
You cant call it 5.1 without the sub...I rather put 2 play ones as surrounds, a sub hooked to the bar and and those play 5 as front right left with another sub. and then group them when watching movies for a 5.2 surround.... because that sonos sub is weak.
Have sonos figured out how to do a 5.1 or 7.1 with 5/7 speakers 1 sub? I’m not worried about the cost but sound separation is (so it would seem) a lost tech. Even on a 50” tv I would put FL and FR at a distance of 8’ (no science, just how I like it) with toe inwards. Currently I’m running a setup with 12’ in between FL and FR in a 13’ wide room. It sounds fantastic. For what it’s worth, I heard Rasputin (flac) on a 2 channel system with a good separation and it sounded fantastic.
Just to add, I’m in love with the concept and tech of sonos. I’ve populated my house with about 4 speakers and 1 sub, but I just don’t think they are ready for a home theater setup. 😌

Why did you do optical and not HDMI with the Beam?
Hi bro i want to buy...sonos product as below.
Sonos Arc
Sub gen 3
Sonos 5 (2pcs)

That’s what I thought. Those are bit much for rears
Hey guys I love all the installations videos, wonderful job keep it up.what about installation in Canada?
What other wireless speakers work best with the arc and 3rd gen sub ?

U read my mind
Did you watch the video?! Literally said he’s advised all those things to the customer and the customer chose his options.
But those bigger speakers would make all of music straming you have in sonos app more enjoyable compared to small one speakers wchoch is nice to have in living room.
When he said, "Which Grayson verified it is" I was shook because my name is Grayson 💀 cool vid
Every one of these Sonos setup videos on TH-cam skip crucial steps in installing and using app.
Fantastic vid... thanks for sharing...
I can tell from the rich mahogany and fine leather that this was for sure the Burgundy’s house.
Can multiple devices connect to the system? Not to play music at the same time, but I don't want to be the only one who is able to stream music.
What did you plug the other end of romex into?
Epson 4010 projector w/ sonos surround sound possible?
If those speakers were white, it would would have looked 1000% cleaner. Great job nonetheless

You need playbar, beam, or the playbase for tv then you connect any other Sonos as rear channel.
So how is it wireless?
wireless amp my friend
Is your company licensed to perform high-voltage work?
Thanks for watching! Yes and we have a master electrician that is licensed for commercial work as well.

1. Put them in horizontal
2. Leave them on the stands
4. Put the sub in the front corner on the floor.
Hi is possible to use sonos single play one as a surround to play bar and sub?
Could I use the Sonos in ceiling speaker...7 of them to set up 7.1 configuration? Also what about setting up for atmos?
They not have atmos or 7.1. They just do 5.1 and multi room audio.
You cant call it 5.1 without the sub...I rather put 2 play ones as surrounds, a sub hooked to the bar and and those play 5 as front right left with another sub. and then group them when watching movies for a 5.2 surround.... because that sonos sub is weak.
It is my understand that you can use a beam or playbar as a center plus fron r/l and can not add other speakers as r/l fronts.
@@jasonroling320 not as part of the surround but you can group the surround room to another that has a left right channel.
@Nathan Oleinik no is not
what are the requirements to connect it to my TV? do i need a smart TV?
usually that is the case
If you buy the Sonos amp you can line in if your tv has an audio out
“Very affordable plug and play” @ $499.99 a pop! Lol
some peoples affordable is different..
Exactly my thought
Question how many sound rounds i can connected to sonos beam
Better be careful doing unlicensed electrical work.
11:42, AC plug not fully plugged in, no problem...
Would these speakers be good in a 500 sq ft space like a retail area? Could you hook up 4 of them?
Omg get those words off the bottom - I watched for 1:22 and shut off. So annoying
5.1 with Play 5 .. okay xd
What is the name of the song on 7:19 ?????
I wish you guys were in central Florida, these guys are terrible

did you say you can ship products?
I think you're supposed to sit still when you calibrate the system. haha.
Dallas Cozby ... No. you are supposed to walk around the room raising and lowering your phone speaker which is taking the sound measurement.
Why do you look like markiplier?
Bad advert for the way you guys work, or don't. Less dancing and more professionalism would have been better.
