    I used your course and aced my Excel exam! Would you recommend being an investment analyst at PGIM in their debt originations business? How different are the exit opportunities for lending vs brokerage?

    Great content, as always.
    I’m curious if you agree with Malcolm Gladwell’s “Outliers” - Hockey- where children born earlier in the year have a size advantage over their peers - makes them appear to have more “talent”. This perceived talent draws more attention and personalized coaching and game time- which compounds over time.

      I'd say my "edge" came through reading, I finished rich dad poor dad at 10. I joined networking groups at 18. So to be an outlier in real estate. Read early or read more than others. be it sales, success or real estate. Also network do it at least twice a week. That's what's helped me.

    What do you think about Berkadia compared to those institutions you named?

      Solid - very well-known specifically in the multifamily space, so if your goal is to be in residential, they're a great firm.

    Realistically how much can you earn in a CRE brokerage position with a major company if you’re good?

    • @BreakIntoCRE
      @BreakIntoCRE  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      7 figures+, but getting "good" takes a long time - it's often ~10 years before top brokers get to that kind of level, and as with any industry, a very small percentage of brokers take home the vast majority of the business.

      @@BreakIntoCRE thanks man. Curious on the work/life balance at these places…and overall comradeship/happiness? Did you leave your position and if so, why?

    • @BreakIntoCRE
      @BreakIntoCRE  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@realestateinvestors many of these places can be grind shops at the analyst/associate level - not necessarily investment banking hours, but some come close in major markets (NYC, LA, SF). Comradeship depends on the group, but the big shops generally play with a team mentality, which is a good thing. I left to go to a principal side shop for the ability to get an equity stake in deals, but lots of opportunity in brokerage.

      @@BreakIntoCRE thanks again Justin for your thoughtful replies. I completed a few of your courses through Udemy and thinking a shift from residential RE into CRE could be exactly what I’m looking for. Congrats on moving into doing your own deals.

    JLL Brokerage is the hardest job to get in CRE but will literally guarantee you seven figure income. They mainly recruit from USC TREA.
