The day gun manufacturers are held liable for what's done with the guns they make is the day we must insist that politicians be held accountable for the policies that they pass.

And are you going to hold auto makers liable for what is done with their vehicles? Because whether you like it or not, idiots driving cars kill more people every year than guns do. Here's a hint Sparky, a gun by itself is not a danger, the danger comes from the person wielding it, as it is with autos.

Citizens have the right own any weapon the government can use against the citizens. The 2nd amendment isn’t about hunting squirrels. It’s about defending our constitutional rights from a corrupt government that choose not to serve the people. A government that serves its people would want them to be well armed.

    • @KathrynLiz1
      @KathrynLiz1 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Also, as I understand it as someone outside of the USA, the Constitution does not grant any rights at all, it affirms them as yours by reason of being a US citizen. The rights in the first 10 amendments are innate (if you will, "God given") and therefore cannot be negated by anyone but God himself, certainly not by any government without a 75% super majority. The implication in the preamble is that it is not only the right, but the civic duty of a citizen to overthrow a government in rebellion against the people, to accomplish which the Second Amendment was written to make this plain and to ensure that the people have the means to exercise that right and duty..
Oh how I wish my own country (New Zealand) was founded on such principles.
Keep the faith over there.... Like it or not you are the one true bastion of freedom in the world, the only nation wherein there is no argument about who is in charge... the people.

Also, for those who didn't know, the AR-15 was a civilian rifle that was created in 1956, around a few years before the military adopted the design, the military liked the design and made a contract with Colt to make a fully-automatic version and it became the M-16 and later the M-4. @@tullo5564 mass killings? Oh yeah. The BLM riots, and the lockdown riots and looting. We’re blaming that on guns now? How about the politicians who supported the defunding of the police, or the DA’s who refuse to prosecute the criminals perpetrating the crimes? And when they do prosecute, they let them out on bail. Then they go and commit more crime, because they know the police doesn’t have the manpower, and the corrupt DA’s won’t do anything. States like California and New York, where this is happening, already has the most stringent and restrictive gun legislation active. It’s already hard to legally obtain a firearm, and it takes months at times. The criminals on the other hand, never have to go through that, because they always obtain them on the black market, or in a back alley somewhere.
States that allow citizens to constitutional carry, have a far lower crime rate. And the fact the the “president” wants to call even a Glock a “weapon of war,” is just ridiculous. The fact is, he wants to ban all firearms from law abiding citizens, while criminals will still be able to get them, and the crime will get worse. But hey, don’t want to believe me? Move to a country where you can’t own a firearm as a private citizen. China or somewhere. See how that works out.
And as far as making America safe, the crime rate has shot up since he’s taken office. Joe Biden and the Democrat party keep pushing crap policies hurt the good, law abiding people; while coddling and helping the criminals.

The really funny thing about this, is that there was a letter to one of the founding fathers, way back in the day, a private citizen (IIRC a merchant) asking if he was allowed to own a naval cannon or not. The response was along the lines of 'unless you plan to aim it at me, why is it my business'.
Trying to use federal laws to override the constitution on the basis of arguing 'well the constitution doesn't cover x' when you have extant examples of what the people who wrote it thought it covered, is the height of stupidity, and relies on a stupid and uneducated public to work.
Especially when you consider that the 2nd amendment's original purpose was EXPLICITLY to protect civilians having enough gun to give the finger to an overreaching federal government.

As a former F-15C pilot, yes, I mean that civilians and militias should be able to own an F-15 (or entire squadron) if they want. Granted there are secret no-export avionics and weapons in US hardware, but an F-15I or F-15K export version should be able to be bought by militias, and carry munitions. Just follow all the same rules regarding FAA, mach limit rules in populated areas, and munitions flight rules. Same goes for Tanks, automatic weapons, rocket launchers, etc. If 2A is restricted using legislation, limits, and technology, it could in time be rendered so inept it may as well not even exist. 2A is designed to prevent tyranny, and it'll forever be under attack by tyrants that recognize it's effectiveness to their addiction to power and control of the masses. Civilians are allowed to own military aircraft. Legally I don't think they are allowed to be flown in US airspace while armed though. Finding some place to buy one is the tricky part. I do know there are several fulyl functional attack helicopters in private hands with at least one of those put back together completely by salvaging parts from different hunks sold as demiled scrap. There are also lots of privately owned tanks complete with main guns. The ammo has to have a tax stamp per round as a destructive device. The same goes for grenade launcher ammo. Machine guns are legal to own if it was one registered from that 80s or earlier. Or you can go through hoops and get an FFL and have "dealer samples".
There is a lot of stuff politician like Biden like to say are illegal or can't be done that in fact are legal, just very expensive.

Letters of Marque (pronounced like the name Mark, by the way) did allow individuals to become privateers on behalf of the government. In order to do this, yes, they would have to outfit their ships for pitched battle. Thankfully it was pretty common for those ships to already be outfitted with at least a few guns already. Those Letters of Marque could be revoked almost as quickly as they could be written, though, but the ships would be allowed to retain their guns for protection.
It'd be interesting to see how the government would react to someone putting cannons on an ocean-going yacht or a larger fishing vessel.

Colion Noir, this is the only thing you need to understand when referencing article 2 of the Bill of Rights.
“As civil rulers, not having their duty to the people before them, may attempt to tyrannize, and as the military forces which must be occasionally raised to defend our country, might pervert their power to the injury of their fellow citizens, the people are confirmed by the article in their right to keep and bear their private arms."
"Who are the militia? Are they not ourselves? Is it feared, then, that we shall turn our arms each man gainst his own bosom. Congress have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birthright of an American.... [T]he unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state governments, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people."
These were the remarks of Tench Coxe, who was the delegate sent to the continental congress to affirm what the 2nd article meant. When he introduced it to the continental congress, it was already the law of the land. The bill of rights was the law of the land long before the constitution ever started acting out unlawful powers, and today, it is the only law, you just have to read it and understand it. People are the jurisdictional authority in this country, not no fucking government. If you want this to take this country back, all you need is to learn that bill of Rights.
