History and politics aside though, since it's the Chinese we use in Taiwan, it just feels homey as a Taiwanese. You know, aside from the fact that they were both voiced by the same guy and the weird gong noises, this is not that bad of a dubbing. They translated the original dialogue quite well.
The gong is meant to replace a popular electronic bass drum sound effect overlayed over the english scene which is partly responsible for the scene's circulation through meme culture.
As someone who is learning Chinese, this is so satisfying! It's an easy dialogue and I was able to understand almost every word. The ones I didn't understand I got by remembering the original version of the show. Also it's cool to see the traditional characters in action, since we exclusively do our studying through the simplified ones. Nice video, 谢谢你!
That's actually a pretty good dub. I remember seeing polish dubs from time to time when i was a kid. Movies used to be dubbed by a single guy who was speaking in a monotonous voice throughout the whole movie.
Of course He approves of the Chinese. He sent 4 angels to my friend Christine, and she says that they even speak Chinese to her. (Actually, Christine says they’re bilingual and can switch back and forth between English and Chinese at will.) Therefore, if those angels were kind enough to learn Chinese, then it stands to reason that their boss Jesus approves of Chinese.

My friend London also has a pretty strong prophetic gifting from the Lord too. All Chinese languages are tonal, which means that the way words are pronounced varies their meanings. Mandarin has four tones. Other Chinese languages have up to ten distinct tones which these youtube comments has explained them well for me and I have learnt a good language lesson in the cultures and language differences between chinese and mandarin.
