Long-time viewer; I just wanted to say I really appreciate your honest and real take on watches, in many ways it makes you the best reviewer on TH-cam. I always look forward to your Monday and Friday videos. Thanks!
Beautiful dial. Seems as if big or small, all brands are jumping on the textured/patterned dials. And I like it. In my opinion, anOrdain is probably making some of the most beautiful dials, microbrand or other.
Looks like a very cool design. I really like the dial and the fact that it is 100m water-resistant. Definitely on my radar now :D Thanks, Tim for showing us these very cool microbrands.
Own this watch and very happy with it. The only negative is that it is hard to wind due to the crown guards. It has a masculine presence and the blue dial goes very well with jeans, like the BB58 navy blue.
Such a knowledge packed channel! I just recently ran across it after I ordered the Direnzo DRZ 05. But wow, what an amazing dial on that blue Straum. With that texture they should also make a Desert version with sandy colours.
Very cool looking but I wish this was a 38mm then it'd be an ideal for me. Also, any news on if the quick release is doable on your standard straps? :)
What do you think of this watch v the new fume dial Seiko Alpinists(no compass bezel version) and Laurel reissues? I feel there are a lot of similarities there... Even if this looks slightly more modern the basic function is the same i.e. a dressier field watch.
I've been wearing a blue one since March and I keep finding clothes to match it to have a good excuse to keep wearing it. It fits on the wrist perfectly and it pops to the eye. Impressive first product for Straum. I am baffled.
Maybe for next Q and A video Tim... I know you sort of answered this question before but what do you think about microbrands like TimeFactors offering anti magnetic protection as a feature? Is this serious is it a gimmick? Would you make it a part of your own purchasing choice. Second do you think with all the videos you have done ypu have a particular criteria/trend to judge the value proposition of a watch?
Clever caseback. The movement in there isn’t the most visually exciting, purely by spec I’d have said give me a steel caseback and maybe some tasteful engraving, emphasis on the word tasteful, which is easier said than done. This watch offers a little of each. The reveal offers the moving parts and leaves the rest to the imagination, just a hint and that’s effective here. Good luck with your strap venture going forward. Shell cordovan certainly is a great option to be able to offer. I believe the market for fine straps is one that’s evolving probably largely to you tubers offering a more nuanced perspective. Sell’em like you stole ‘em Tim!
You're right. A lot of watches are inspired by nature; it's human nature to get the biggest profit margin possible. Seriously though, they're fine looking watches, except perhaps the 'spooky black' one with the ghost position, which may be too spinechilling for some. Re the cordovan. People have been trying to make a profit out of horses since time began; it's notoriously difficult.
Very nice looking watches. The wide strap gives them a real '60s vibes, back when 19mm straps on 35mm watches were common (I have a couple). BTW: nice vest, I love it. Your work?
Great dial and love that it’s not another dinky 36 or 38mm watch. Watches are small enou To me it’s also NOT a dress watch - those have ultra slender hands and indices which I dispise. Rather I see this as a dressy watch - AKA business casual or if your dressing up just a bit Still, I’d get in on their new bracelet. Looks sharp.
Thanks to technology and thanks to the feasibilityof outsourcing. Almost anyone can reach out to manufacturers in asia. That means the burden to become a watch brand (not a manufacturer) is lower than ever.
Watch manufacturers have a long way to go with creativity, especially with hand sets and hour markers. They are an integral part of the watch, and most companies are doing a really poor job at both, including this company. As well as the dials. Although this dial is fantastic. Well done.
Actually, it looks to me like a poor man's Grand Seiko, complete with purple prose ad copy about glaciers outside their studio windows, etc. etc. Übrigens, hast du "chemical" mit ch- gesagt? Es wird mit k- am Anfang ausgesprochen. /kemɪkəl/ nicht /tʃkemɪkəl/.
I just impulse bought the Damascus version blue dial. I have never fallen in love with a watch that quickly and could not resist this one.
Morning everyone. Very pretty watches.
Dress watches aren't usually my thing, but that certainly has that Moser look, really beautiful 😍👍🏻👍🏻
Norway is beautiful. Nice video Tim.
Thanks!

Thank you very much! I really appreciate such support. Keeps me going :-)
100% agreed.
Beautiful dial. Seems as if big or small, all brands are jumping on the textured/patterned dials. And I like it.

The green dial is beautiful 💚

The blue dial reminds me of the ocean viewed from a plane. Beautiful.
Any review of the Moels & Co 528 Automatic TV Watch coming up ? That one really got my attention.
They said they would send in a piece. But I don't know when exactly.

Great looking dials.

(late comment) Very attractive piece, and not thematically in thrall to another design or God help us another dive watch, love the blue.

Green. The green is best.
Beautiful! Really like this one.
Well done interesting video. Really like your focus on micro brands
Thanks! It's also for me a lot of fun.

I do like them, reminds me of the glasshutte original 60s range. Shame they aren't a bit smaller.

Unfortunately I'm not able to produce any form of knitwear. So that's from a shop.
@@CasebackWatches 😯 I could have sworn you were a knitter...

Amazing coincidence; I bought three lambswool cardigans in the sales this very week. Can't beat a nice 'cardi'.
Hello Tim,
could you tell which shop you got your vest from?
I am very enthusiastic about this kind of fashion.
Best regards Martin
Sorry, I don't remember the shop. Brand label states "Boston Brothers".

They look great
How do these watch compare to a grandseiko bitch for example? Or the snow dial?
Outstanding review
Thank you!
I especially like the black one

Doesn't it seem like the green catches the light more?? And shows brighter
Very nice thanks. Balticus has an offer that might beat Straum at the pricing point though....
Beautiful piece. At 38mm it would be a better fit for me.
Compelling…. Yes I see some H-moser in the dial and a little Tudor ( North flag) in the case.
Nice but the hands are almost identical... It makes it difficult to quickly read the time.
I like it. it is different.
lovely diall. 41mm, a bit big.

Cool watch, just a bit too large for me!
Pass for me. The crown guards ruin it for me. Very Rado-esque.
whats with those bozos vests?!
41mm so I stopped watching.
The strap is too wide, 22 on a 41 watch. It even looks like it is a total 24/26mm. Too much imo

Tatsache, kemical. Danke!
