- Tesla missed Wall Street estimates on earnings and revenue for the first quarter. But Elon Musk's electric car maker says they are focused on the future and a new lineup of vehicles. Ed Ludlow reports on "Bloomberg Markets: The Close."

- There were 500 electric car makers in China in 2019, now less than 100, a drop rate of 50% every year.
By this rate, China will have none left after a few years.

If you are selling TSLA, it's short sided. This is a condition of high interest rates. People aren't buying houses, let alone cars, and even cutting back on grocery. That said, if you are selling now, you are missing out on the great return especially when interest rates goes back to 2-3%.

Margin beat doesn't make sense. How is it possible to miss earnings, revenue, and cash flow but beat margin??? The inventory increase must have been counted as sold.
The IR head bailing is beyond weird. By all accounts the big institutions have had it with the "tomorrow, tomorrow..." song. My bet is the new head of investor relations will be a toupee over Musks bare ass.
They invested heavily in A.I compute ( H100) which is why they had a negative cash flow last Q. They increase revenue, by opening the charging network to other manufacturers. Mega pack margins increase to 24% . Tesla, as Elon keep saying, is not just a car company.....
Margins declined more that expected. It wasn't a beat.

Costs are being cut so obviously bullish.
That is bearish you just said it yourself that they were cutting down on costs and still missed revenue. They hope to wave a shiny new light of hope with their new lineup to maintain share price becuase Elon likes to use stock as collateral for massive loans.

@@AlanSmith88888 Reducing cost increases profitability but they still missed Revenue. Depending on what cost they cut they could run into quality issues and mass recalls like Ford. Tesla already has quality issues, my peers that have bought cars have had uneven door spaces, loose dashboards, etc.
