    Nice looking trailer but the air valves for suspension and axle slide as well as the light switch should be inside a box to protect them from ice, snow and rocks.

    Stake pockets are DOT legal and safe when the tension is pulling against the weld. The weld is the strength. Never squeeze or wrap a pocket, that pulls away from the welding.

  • @Jump_Jay

    I use the spools/stake pockets to secure my chain and it works just fine. Show us all how to use chains on the topside. 🙄. Also the standard should be winches installed on the passenger side for safety.

    • @All-Miles-Matter
      @All-Miles-Matter ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You really shouldn't use those stake pockets for chains. They could, and will fold up in a panic stop, dead stop situation. Aluminum trailers are not really made for that. That's why they make a combo(steel and aluminum) trailer.

    What are the WLL for each of the securement points? I haul a lot of cable reels with small diameters, only 2-ft or so. Being forced to use a j-plate means I only have about 6-inches of space to use a chain binder. I hope that the rub rail does actually have a WLL.

    • @routeonetrailers
      @routeonetrailers  ปีที่แล้ว

      The rubrail is not designed to secure chains or straps on it, but if you were to use straps with flat hooks or chains around 2 spools at a time will do the job. If you circle around the stake pocket you may damage it.

    Never buying extreme trailers again. They make em way too thin to save on weight - stake pockets easily get damaged by chain hooks. Very few stake pockets. Cracks develop on the frame from deck flexing. Winch rails way too short. Very limited securing area near axles. J-hooks are a joke - fall off as deck flexes on the road and chains loosen. Rear lift axle barely gets off the ground - wrong levelling valve location. Dealer network refuses warranty as ‘that’s how it came from the factory’.
    Go with time proven manufacturers instead.

  • @donmunro144
    @donmunro144 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I don't see this lasting long. Those switches and lights won't make the first winter, catching all the tire spray from the drive tires. I also don't want to duck walk to get to them. Also weight savings = loss of durability.

    • @routeonetrailers
      @routeonetrailers  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This trailers is actually rated at 55k lbs in 4 ft. Most others are less. Extreme reduced the weight from making a simpler frame, crossmembers, changed the apitong wood, incorporated the strap tie bar with the winch track, using Meritor suspension that is lighter than hendrickson. This is not less durability than any other aluminum trailer.

    • @donmunro144
      @donmunro144 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@routeonetrailers I'm not saying there aren't features that I like. Just pointing out things that I don't. I think they should have used some of the weight saved to reinforce areas that are prone to breaking. Example would be frame around the forward axle.
