Really been enjoying all the OPE "battery powered editions" its truly amazing how the consumer OPE has changed in the last 5 years or so. So many competitors in the battery powered space only means a win win for the consumer. keep the videos and honest opinions coming. Thanks!
Last year Skil had a huge sale on 12v tools. I bought the whole line. Small tools with lots of power. And believe it or not the flashlight is one of the most used tools from them I use. The batteries in 12v line are phenomenal. I almost got the 40 v mower but I just hate the look of it. Got the ryobi self propelled crosscut instead. Those hedge clippers looked nice and beefy though.
I bought the mower and the blower. They are amazing and tough. I was fully prepared to exchange them if necessary but no way. I hope the 40v lineup grows. When you take into consideration that they are owned by the same company that makes EGO I can see why I'm impressed.
I have the trimmer, you don’t take the head off to refill the trimmer line. You cut a 12 foot piece of trimmer line and feed it through the hole where the line comes out of the head even it up, then turn the red band on the trimmer head to Wind it up.
No mention of where the motor is on the trimmer. Having the motor down on the string head puts more weight far away from your body. After a while that weight works on your back. You want the motor up on top near the battery. Makes for a much more comfortable machine because it is so much better balanced Comfort is so important.
Craftsman has been pretty good for hand tools. Now, they can’t sell power tools without deep discounts. Skil is growing on people. Skil would sell more if they had that saw at the end of their name...That’s a whole different discussion.
You obviously did not do any research on the trimmer. You don't take the head off to load the line. You're supposed to feed the line through the holes and wind in the line. But this feature sucks, it is a pain in the ass to load. I sweat more trying to load the trimmer line then actually trimming my lawn with this tool. And that's no joke. 🤬
