Recently got started in wire weaving and wrapping, and just recently stumbled upon your TH-cam videos. And I've gotta say these are the most helpful, organized, clear demonstrations of various types of wire weaving that I have seen. Kudos to you making these videos! I watched the other sequel videos to this as well. Very helpful!! :D
...by the way thank you for your videos, they are really helpful in conveying a good understanding of how to execute these weaving patterns demonstrated in your videos. ❤❤❤
I just wanted to take a moment and thank you for your patient and well-demonstrated tutorial!! I've been doing quite a lot with some of these weaves, but not enough with the others. I needed to review them, and this video presented itself first in the search. I'm so grateful for the fact that it did! Thank you.
Thank you for simplifying an intricate technique. Your demonstration is the best I have seen. It was clear and concise, paced well and you were easy to understand. Your use of two colors and lack of background music were very helpful, too. Thank you.
Thank you!!! Using the contrasting colors made the world to me! I watched others but couldn’t make heads nor tails of it Your instructions are so easy to understand ❤❤❤❤
Would love to watch a tutorial on wire wrapping for something similar to the silver pendant in the beginning of the video. THAT WAS SO BEAUTIFUL. You're an easy teacher to understand and follow. Love your channel.
Your wire weaving techniques are absolutely beautiful. I actually LOVE the little examples of wire weaving that you put on a ring. I would wear that as a pendant on a chain. Thank you so much for this brilliant video. Love from Amanda in Australia xox
Yes, u r the Diva. I learned so much from u when I was learning, right from the beginning. Thank you. Your instructions are easy to follow & very complete.
I see this is an older video but it was very informative for me, as I am just starting to wire wrap. I have a lot of difficulty following patterns but this was clear and easy to follow. Thank you so much!
Pretty kool I am a newbie in the wide world of wire art and chain mail and this is a nice thing to give a try thank for shared knowledge of yet another fascinating art with wire
Thank you so much for making these videos. I really want to learn how to do this and just reading books isn't enough to really see how it's done. This is great!
Hi Randy, I am so pleased that you enjoyed the video, and my work. I also appreciate you taking the time to comment, so a "thanks!" right back at you! :)
Oh Wow, you make this so easy to follow. I have been having fits trying to weave wire, I so appreciate your wonderful tutorial. You've got a new subbie. TFS
This is great. Thank you! I would love to see a video teaching the wire wrapping style you showed at the beginning if it's at all possible. I love that style and never see any tutorials for it.
Hi Claude, to tell the truth, I never really thought about doing a wire wrapping video like that, but I can sure figure out some kind of project! And I am glad you enjoyed the wire weaving video. :)
😍😍😍😍😍 I've watched your videos (this one) before 😊 and it's helped me in weaves... But now I've started to make my library! Thank u so much!🌹 This video was the best, thank you so much for the tips 😉 Happy New Year *Love ur creations*
And I'll bet you have fun with those ideas, once you get the technique down pat. I hope you have a lot of fun (both in the technique and in your ideas). :D
Thank you so much for your video. The last one I watched, while it looked beautiful, the lady went sooo fast I couldn't see what she was doing. With yours Im sure I can do it now.
Thank you for providing such a helpful, in-depth tutorial. Would you mind sharing the name of each weave somewhere in the description or in the comments? I've watched your second video, and would like to know all of the names for those patterns as well.
Hello Gail!! Love the video! I just had a quick question as to what the names of the weaves are? I know the first is a basket weave then you said the 2nd was a modified something? The others I don’t think you said the name of...would just be cool to know. Thank you!! Have a great day!
Please would you be so kind as to tell me if your base wires are round or square, and whether they are half hard or dead soft. I'm thinking the base wires might be half hard - but I don't want to assume. Love the tutorial by the way! Looking forward to wire weaving!
Hi Hannah, the base wires are round, and I typically use soft wire -- although I do straighten the wire and so it gets somewhat work-hardened. I am glad you enjoyed the video, and I hope to start back up with some more wire weaving tuts soon. Have a great day!
Thank you☺ I love the look of weaving, but in magazines it doesn't come across as accessible. You are. One question, how long a piece of weaving wire do you start with, or how long can it be? I have ended up with either broken or unmanageable. And splicing? Again, thank you
Hi 1926modelagirl, I'm glad I was able to help! Now as to your question: if I am using copper, a lot of time I weave off the spool of wire. However, if I am not weaving off the spool, I generally start with 4 to 6 feet of wire. If you aren't using dead soft copper wire (not coated with anything) then try it; it usually is more forgiving than either colored wire, brass or any of the silver (plated, filled or sterling). Also, as soon as you see a kink trying to form, stop and unwind it; kinks are stress point and can cause your wire to break more easily. I hope this helps!
Very informative and easy to follow! One question....how do you "tie off" the weaving wires at the end of the run? I'm sure you have these techniques in your other videos so please just let me know and I'll search them out. Thank you again!! I'm starting a jewelry business using almost entirely recycled wire and copper tubing so this is very, very helpful.
That sounds so exciting, jewelry almost entirely from recycled copper wire and tubing -- best wishes on your venture! Now to answer your question, I don't really "tie off" in the same sense as tying off in beading. What I like to do is finish securing by making some coils around a single wire, as tight as I can. When I cut the wire, i cut it so that it is between two heaver-gauge wires -- kind of like it's "sandwiched". This will help the thinner wire stay into place better. You can see the technique in my bangle bracelet video: th-cam.com/video/yNrqKISPKUw/w-d-xo.html
I am enjoying the simplicity of the way you teach. I tried to start out with a snake weave from another instructor and it was a bit challenging. This is much easier to understand from the beginning. Thank you. What hardness are you using for your wires in this tutorial. I am finding that with dead soft 20 gauge, my base wires get squeezed by my fingers.so I need a harder wire or am I doing something else wrong?
Hi Cheryl, I am glad you found the video helpful! Yes, I do use dead soft, but I usually use 18 gauge wire -- 20 gauge does tend to "squeeze" easily. Ease up a little with the pressure on the rings (I know, easier said than done), but 18 gauge is much easier to use. :)
Hi Bonita, you could try wrapping with 24 gauge, but you'd really need to use 20 or 18 gauge wire for your base. But I know what you mean -- I have to wear reading glasses when I do any wire work! :)
Hi CosmicSea7, I get a lot of my copper wire from monsterslayer.com but when it comes to colored wire, I like to use parawire (which can be found in bead shops and via parawire.com). Hope this helps!
This is a beautiful work! Congratulations! I´m trying to weaving lately, but I´ve found it not easy. Take a look at my channel snd leave your coment, please. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this video! What a great idea to use that turquoise wire! So much easier to see! ❤

It's called a modified sumac weave. I was calling it everything but the right name, too, but the correct name is sumac. 😂😂😂
...by the way thank you for your videos, they are really helpful in conveying a good understanding of how to execute these weaving patterns demonstrated in your videos. ❤❤❤
I love that you use it is visible. So much easier to see this way. I’m not sure why others aren’t doing it this way. Thank you, great tutorial.
I just wanted to take a moment and thank you for your patient and well-demonstrated tutorial!! I've been doing quite a lot with some of these weaves, but not enough with the others. Your instructions are so easy to understand ❤❤❤❤
Thank you so very much for this comment! I very much appreciate it. Have a great day! 🙂
The basket weave is coming better to me the more I see this video. It's the hardest weave I think. Thank you for this tutorial.

Is there a video that shows how to do a hole necklace?

love this- super informative
Hi Kay, I'm glad you enjoyed it. :D
How do you end it when run out of wire and have to add a new piece to finish the remainder of the wrapping 🤔
Hello Gail!! Love the video! I just had a quick question as to what the names of the weaves are? I know the first is a basket weave then you said the 2nd was a modified something? The others I don’t think you said the name of...would just be cool to know. Thank you!! Have a great day!

Can you please do a to Torio on the turquoise necklace that you showed in this video? I really want to make it for myself
Hi! I think this is the style for the earring "connectors"......
Thank you☺ I love the look of weaving, but in magazines it doesn't come across as accessible.
You are.
One question, how long a piece of weaving wire do you start with, or how long can it be? I have ended up with either broken or unmanageable. And splicing?

Beaded Jewelry Diva
Thank you. I will try with plain wire, I suspect I've been using coated. I also have brass wire, though it is 30ga

Thanks for the tutorial. Such a great idea to save the patterns for later! Do you plan to make any tutorials on how to wrap cabochon pendants?
Hi! Yes, I do plan to do a tutorial on how to wrap a cab pendant -- hopefully in the next month. :)
will this work for 20 and 24 gauge
I am enjoying the simplicity of the way you teach. I tried to start out with a snake weave from another instructor and it was a bit challenging. This is much easier to understand from the beginning. Thank you I am just learning and you are so helpful. I LOVE all of your work.
Bonjour, j'aimerais savoir quelle sorte de fil vous utilisez, ainsi que le diamètre. J'adore vos création. Merci.
Bonjour! I used copper wire in 16 gauge for the base and 26 gauge for the weaving. The 26 gauge wire is enameled copper.
You have pretty hands and fingers 😻
Where we can buy wire like this
I know this video is 5 years old and all but thank you.
My wire won't stay still when wrapping and I can't get good tension and it just looks naff and wants to come off the wire
I am using 26 gauge wire to weave, can I use a higher gauge? 26 is hard to see.
Hi Bonita, you could try wrapping with 24 gauge, but you'd really need to use 20 or 18 gauge wire for your base. But I know what you mean -- I have to wear reading glasses when I do any wire work! :)
thanks
Where do you buy your wire? The ones I have are not good quality.
Hi CosmicSea7, I get a lot of my copper wire from monsterslayer.com but when it comes to colored wire, I like to use parawire (which can be found in bead shops and via parawire.com). Hope this helps!
How do you tie off when you get to the end?
where can i get this wire from?
+Kaila Polite Hi! I get my copper wire from monsterslayer.com and I get my enameled wire from various online places (Amazon is one).
thanks
Michael's or Hobby Lobby, even Walmart carries
some and you can always order online.
ugh my base wires keep rotating.
I know right!
