  • In February 2022, U.S. Special Operations Forces conducted a large-scale mission into North-West Syria. Supported by an array of aerial assets, the U.S. ground troops surrounded the target building and took out the leader of a notorious enemy group. This is the story of that operation...

    I am super proud to announce the release of an eBook project I have been working on over the past few months!
    This book is part one of a series that will cover the histories of every Division that was active in the British Army from September 1939 - January 1947. Part one covers the Armoured & Cavalry Divisions.
    The histories in the book cover a Divisions full story, from its formation to disbandment, and everything in between, including movements, actions, planned moves, key dates, commanders etc. Also included is a full outline of a Divisions movement in the U.K. and in the post-war period, two topics that are often overlooked in the historiography of the British Army. For some of the Divisions, such as the 9th Armoured, 10th Armoured and the 1st Cavalry, this is the first time in over 80 years that their war chronicle is told in full.
    If you are interested and would like to purchase a copy of the book, be sure to check out the link below:

      Well most blackhawks are around 40 years old now(started production in 1979). Around 10 years past the airframes best use date(most helicopters and airframes are good for 30 years). Thats with normal use, those helicopters have been getting run dirty for the past 20 years in GWOT the point and wear and tear seems to be that they're at the end of their service life.
      Either the US will probably need a new batch soon or a new helicopter for 2030.

    But how did the Helicopter (presumably using Night vision or Thermal vision in the dark) knew that the "reinforcements" were combatants, and not local police forces coming to investigate the suspicious explosion and gunfire?

    • @LS-jv9hp
      @LS-jv9hp ปีที่แล้ว +6

      US SOF during operations usually create a cordion (either from the most advantageous position or from 1km+ away from TZ) and use bull horns(which can be heard from upwards of 2 miles away) saying it's a US operation and to not infere so locals know to stay away. These bull horns would have been used within minutes of the operators touching ground. The armed combatants would have then be spotted by either the cordion team, the SR team who would have deployed days beforehand to do recce work or the drones and surveillance planes. The US forces in the cordion team would of then given three warnings to not approach(through the bullhorn), upon the third warning an FAC would have radio'd to the helicopter who'd then get permission to fire from mission control.
      Should also be noted that Atimah is deep inside territory controlled by Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham (former Al-Nusra Front Al-Queda offshoot that pretends isn't connected to them). Considering they're the controlling faction it would have still been legal kills since local authorities would be affiliated with HTS making them insurgents in US books.

      Really it’s because the failures at the ones that stand out. What we don’t read about are the hundreds of similar missions where multiple aircraft are flown without issue. Complex machines, even with the best maintenance in the world will still fail occasionally.

With so many Americans talking about overthrowing the US Constitution and destroying the longest running secular democratic republic in history just because their candidate lost a free and fair election, people need to remember all the stories of our American heroes as well as heroes from various free democracies all over the world. We cannot let fascist authoritarian religious nationalist destroy the civilized world. Educated patriots need to stand firm and hold the line. I really hope that the stories you post help remind people what honor and character is.

Some people just don’t have it and those people are the most likely ones trying to overthrow the constitution. And that’s why videos like the above are so important. Always remember the patriots in every free, democratic, and sovereign nation. Warriors with honor and character should be honored. I know it happens from time to time but i find the blackhawk breaking down and needing to be destroyed as pretty bad. I mean its an ageing fleet most the airframes are what? 30-35 years old at this point? You'd want the workshop guys to be picking over each airframe with a fine toothed comb at this point. I mean the forced ditching may have not had anything at all to do with the age of that airframe, but its at least a concern, especially with no immediate replacement in sight at the moment.
