Jackson Browne - The Load Out / Stay - live at Wolf Trap 7/20/2022

  • Second encore at Wolf Trap in Vienna VA. A little to much talking by the crowd and spotty video at times but overall a great feeling of being there. Grisly Adams Clyde Jackson Brown still sounds great at age 73. Greg Liesz on lap steel guitar. Good banter from Browne on recording this up the road at Merriweather Post Pavilion. We love Wolf Trap better.

His was the first concert I ever saw. 16 years old at Pine Knob Michigan. A light rain fell on the lawn the entire show but we all loved it because it cooled down a scorching hot day. We slid down the hill, sang his songs and had the time of our lives. Thanks Jackson. Although that was 42 years ago that memory is fresh and I'll take it to my grave.

"We just pass the time in these hotel rooms and wander round backstage. Then those lights come up and we hear that crowd, and we remember why we came!" So many powerful memories for the sparkies who made the lights do tricks in concert halls and school auditoriums across the world. I can relate - I was one of the sparkies in my high school and so enjoyed making the audience jump with a quick flick of the switch!

@@jeanvaljeanist Mine was not meant to be a criticism, absolutely. Just one observation. I've been a huge Jackson Browne fan forever. I understand perfectly that to be able to sing at his age you need to go down a few tones. That's the way it's for everyone I think. Anyway, the album "Running On Empty" is from 1977, 45 years have passed. Honor to the merit of a great artist.
