To me, the reason why both Sirius and Bellatrix were able to stay sane in Azkaban was because they both held onto an Unshakable Truth; an unwavering fact in the face of all their misery and mental torment that the Dementors couldn't take from them. For Sirius, it was that he never committed the crimes he was accused of and that at the very least Peter was dead( until he found out later.) Bellatrix, on the other hand, knew without a doubt that when the Dark Lord rose again, that he would come to set her free. Like the power of faith, it was with these truths that both Sirius and Bellatrix kept their minds in Azkaban and gave them the will to eventually escape. Wow. 😲 Thanks for the likes ya'll.

I think Sirius actually said in goblet of fire the book, it wasn't much of a trial as an excuse for Crouch to show how much he hates the boy. I’m rereading the books and I just read this part in Goblet of Fire!! Sirius talks about how Crouch was determined to push ahead into the position of Minister of Magic so by convicting Sirius for the dozens of muggles killed, plus Peters death, Crouch would gain favor for the position. Crouch, not wanting any way for Sirius to talk his way out of it, sent Sirius straight to Azkaban without a trial; almost securing his new position until his son was found guilty of being with the group of death eaters.

Since the mirror shows you your deepest desire and the dilluminator actually took Ron and showed him where his deepest desire was when he found Harry and Hermione?? Sirius never got a trial while the others did, there's a video of "Why Was The Ministry Weak After The First War". All they wanted to do was close the book and move on without any more nightmares. But they just skimmed the ending to finish it off quick. After the second war, they did it right to avoid making the same mistakes or any others. I think the owls stay in the owlery and the rest of the pets just stay wil them. Example: Hedwig stays in the owlery with the rest of the owls and Scabbers and Crookshanks stay with Ron and Hermione.

Question! I have reread the books a few times. But I never remember this question. In the movie wormtail needs a wand to change into a rat. So is it something they need the wand or not? I'm sure I know the answer. But I just want confirmation.

They're either snapped or kept in lockup in the Ministry of Magic (which should have been the case for Sirius, as he hadn't had a trial; if he had and was acquitted, his wand would have been returned to him).

It's said that wizards can use someone else's wand, but it doesn't work as well, and may actually be dangerous if the wand and wizard are complete opposites. So here's my speculation: Either somebody broke into the Ministry of Magic and stole Sirius' wand back for him, or he's using a borrowed wand, or else he actually did go to Olivander and get a new wand. The latter is addressed in a fanfiction story in which Sirius goes to Olivander's after escaping Azkaban, and after reassuring him that he intends no harm, he asks Olivander to show him the "special" wands - the untraceable ones that cost extra. Olivander says that he has no intention of reporting Sirius as he has no interest in politics, and that his only concern is matching the right wand to the right wizard. So Sirius gets a new wand and Olivander is paid extra (under the table, of course). It's the wizarding world's version of contraband guns/phones/etc.
I have a theory about what could have driven the Longbottoms completely insane: not only the shear pain, but both of them had accidentally received brain-injuries, probably due to bashing their heads on hard stone. A combination of both factors made the situation extra hard.
Blind devotion can be powerful, never understood y Bellatrix,was able to beat Sirius so easily,she hadn't had much wand play either,with such a long stint in Azkaban.
I think Bellatrix also was a kind of human embodiment of a dementor. Part of her fed off the misery in Azkaban, I think. And of course, her obsession with the end game.
Very Interesting video (and posted an hour ago. I think that's the fastest I ever caught one.) Anyway Sirius told Harry exactly how he survived. He had the knowledge that he was innocent which was not pleasant and the Dementors could take. He also spent much of his time as an Animagus which they mostly left alone. He had too factors in his favor. Bellatrix, Rodolphus and Rabastin were foul, just like the Dementors. They had also been associated with Voldemort. No doubt Bellatrix was to remind the Dementors her lord would be back one day to reward them so they paid little attention to the high security Death Eater prisoners. They had all survived about ten years whereas the normal life span of a prisoner was about one year. This is how I believe the ten Death Eater prisoners survived they probably had Bellatrix to thank for their prolonged survival. Finally I must say that the use if Dementors in Azkaban constituted a CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY.
That's a pretty easy answer. Sirius could till transform into dog, saving his will till he comes across a newspaper clipping. He also was innocent. The combo kept Sirius sane and able to act. Bellatix is insane. The demenentors cannot make a mad person become mad...they are already there. There's no conscience to exploit.
Sirius didn't go insane in Azkaban for multiple reasons. Here are some of them- 1. He knew that he was innocent, and hadn't committed any of the crimes he had been convicted for. 2. He had a great strength of mind, so maybe he could shut the Dementors'' effect out of his head. 3. He must have had a sort of experience, for his own house wouldn't have been much lesser than Azkaban to him. Bellatrix: She went insane, but because she believed Voldemort would return, she didn't stop eating to end her own life.

Question! I have reread the books a few times. But I never remember this question. In the movie wormtail needs a wand to change into a rat. So is it something they need the wand or not? I'm sure I know the answer. But I just want confirmation.
About the "trail(?)" -That four tortured to maddness ,but did not killed, and Sirius was accudes of murdering few people in the daylight.
What do people do for food or water in azkaban? And what of magic, if Sirius can covert and revert to his animal form. Does that mean other forms of magic are possible - I have not read the books, but is there any explanation for such thoughts?

Where do people's wands go when they're in Azkaban?
They're either snapped or kept in lockup in the Ministry of Magic (which should have been the case for Sirius, as he hadn't had a trial; if he had and was acquitted, his wand would have been returned to him).

@@masevsp928 I don't remember the books addressing this point. It's said that wizards can use someone else's wand, but it doesn't work as well, and may actually be dangerous if the wand and wizard are complete opposites.
So here's my speculation: Either somebody broke into the Ministry of Magic and stole Sirius' wand back for him, or he's using a borrowed wand, or else he actually did go to Olivander and get a new wand. The latter is addressed in a fanfiction story in which Sirius goes to Olivander's after escaping Azkaban, and after reassuring him that he intends no harm, he asks Olivander to show him the "special" wands - the untraceable ones that cost extra. Olivander says that he has no intention of reporting Sirius as he has no interest in politics, and that his only concern is matching the right wand to the right wizard. So Sirius gets a new wand and Olivander is paid extra (under the table, of course). It's the wizarding world's version of contraband guns/phones/etc.

I have a theory about what could have driven the Longbottoms completely insane: not only the shear pain, but both of them had accidentally received brain-injuries, probably due to bashing their heads on hard stone. A combination of both factors made the situation extra hard.
Blind devotion can be powerful, never understood y Bellatrix,was able to beat Sirius so easily,she hadn't had much wand play either,with such a long stint in Azkaban.

I think Bellatrix also was a kind of human embodiment of a dementor. Part of her fed off the misery in Azkaban, I think. And of course, her obsession with the end game.

Anyway Sirius told Harry exactly how he survived. He had the knowledge that he was innocent which was not pleasant and the Dementors could take. He also spent much of his time as an Animagus which they mostly left alone. He had too factors in his favor.
Bellatrix, Rodolphus and Rabastin were foul, just like the Dementors. They had also been associated with Voldemort. No doubt Bellatrix was to remind the Dementors her lord would be back one day to reward them so they paid little attention to the high security Death Eater prisoners. They had all survived about ten years whereas the normal life span of a prisoner was about one year. This is how I believe the ten Death Eater prisoners survived they probably had Bellatrix to thank for their prolonged survival.
Finally I must say that the use if Dementors in Azkaban constituted a CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY.

That's a pretty easy answer.
Sirius could till transform into dog, saving his will till he comes across a newspaper clipping. He also was innocent. The combo kept Sirius sane and able to act.
Bellatix is insane. The demenentors cannot make a mad person become mad...they are already there. There's no conscience to exploit.
Sirius didn't go insane in Azkaban for multiple reasons. Here are some of them-
1. He knew that he was innocent, and hadn't committed any of the crimes he had been convicted for.
2. He had a great strength of mind, so maybe he could shut the Dementors'' effect out of his head.
3. He must have had a sort of experience, for his own house wouldn't have been much lesser than Azkaban to him.

She went insane, but because she believed Voldemort would return, she didn't stop eating to end her own life.

Sirius explained the dementors didn’t affect his belief that he was innocent as it wasnt a happy thought but he held onto it. And the 4 death eaters got a trial because one of them was Barty crouch jr and his father gave him a trial to publicly send him to Azkaban
