89 Corvette owner myself! Same paint color and rims but with beige interior. All electronics, lights, Delco Bose System, AC and ABS Brake system still work beautifully. As of today I just hit the 100k mark on my Vette.

'96 Corvette convertible. Last year I sold my other car, a '91 Corvette coupe. (My 1996 is my seventh fourth gen). What I love about the car goes back to when it was first introduced for '84. (Looking back, it was really ahead of its time for the mid 80's). Although my '96 has mild performance mufflers, it still has that distinct C4 sound. Great car all the way around, and always fun to drive(and it still gets compliments today).

Reynolds Rides - Man, I have had a Viper, Viper Trucks, SRTs, my daily now is a Charger Daytona. Also Challengers, A C3, 73 L82, stick with a/c, an 06 911 Carrera S, stick....and now, now I have...wait for it...16 MX-5 Club with a stick. Why? Because Miata is always the answer. I wanted a dedicated Autocross car. Parts are literally half of Gen2, Gen 3 Viper and 997 911 parts. It just made sense and is fun to drive to boot. But looking at older cars to do a yearly 9 day long car event that 1989 is the cut off year. That where C4s come in.

C4s are a semi-exotic for sure and going up fast. Very trick engineering in those cars, 5 link independent rear suspension (very uncommon and very "race"), transverse fiberglass leafs, all suspension components forged aluminum, rigid aluminum spine from trans to differential (straight from Lotus), monster gatorbacks, reverse clambshell hood, targa top, big power...total semi-exotic. Prices are going up fast.

Love the color! It's funny how over time opinions change. The digital dash used to be gimmicky and impractical, now it's very cool. The more out of style these cars become, the greater the nostalgia.
If I were to buy a C4 it MUST have the digital dash even though, in my opinion, it's worse than regular gauges.

I bought an 1989 Corvette in 1995. It only had about 3k on the odometer the day o took it home. It was a triple red; body, leather and carpet. Both tops, smoke and body color. I daily drove it for about 4-5 years. I absolutely romped the snot out of that car. It was amazing. It never failed me and was by far the best car I've ever owned.

I have owned 3 C4s. A Torch Red 1996 LT-4, a Metallic Turquoise 1991 ZR-1, and another Metallic Turquoise 1991 ZR-1. I have to agree the clamshell hood is the best C4 feature. Honorable mention are the rear hatch that adds a bit of utility and overall driving visibility compared to older generations, and cockpit like seating. Though difficult to get into and out of, once you are in there, you stay in there no matter what the road throws at you. You have a beautiful car. I let an 89 Convertible get away in the same color. "Kicking myself..."

Lots of scrubbing you can do that will make you love it even more. Things like the front A arms look amazing clean and you can easily polish them too. The more you scrub, the more you'll discover and love it more! Had an 88 35th anniversary car. Still one of my favs

Love my ‘89 convertible L98 in torch red. Got it in wonderful condition. Had it nine years now, and restore and replace every chance I get. Lots of TLC. It’s fun and fast, all the gals like it. Great club fun. Leather seats, Borla exhaust, big sound and I’ve corrected the paint and ceramic coated it. She shines like crazy. Many trophies. I’ll always have it, and when I depart my grandson gets it. What’s not to like.

I'm going on a decade with my 1990 C4 Corvette with absolutely no end in sight. This is my second Corvette and C4 too. I also feel the same on your top 5 list plus a bit of nostalgia since I grew up in the eighties and nineties. C4 Corvettes are extremely fun cars to own and drive.

I've really been wanting a C4 'Vette not sure why maybe the price and the things you mentioned. The thing that drives me crazy is the front and rear plastic on the top is always wavy not flat. Perhaps when I get mine I can remove it and fill the inside with fiberglass for rigidity then bodywork and re-paint for a smooth look that will last....

Your videos have given me renewed interest in getting a C4 Corvette but I am narrowing my search to manual transmission cars only. I agree that the digital dashes are WAY cool as the only other GM sports cars that had something comparable during the 80s were the Trans Am GTA 87-88 and the Camaro Berlinetta. My current car is a 2015 Versa Note so VERY uninspiring to drive in comparison to your C4 Corvette. LOL

Not sure if you know this or not but one of the cool things about this car is if you lift the carpet in the back there should be three things molded into the fiberglass...a guy hitting a baseball, a hot dog and a slice of apple pie....as American as it gets...

Hi Jeff, I love that color too but I'm finding when I research it I get Dark Blue Metallic code 68 in some places and Black Saphire code 28 in other places. Have you found that also and do you know why that is? I imagine the correct one has to be tagged on your car somewhere.

My 89 is Nassau blue inside and out. (1) 261,000 miles and counting, (2) horsepower and handling for a car that easily gets 25 mpg. (3) clam shell hood, (4) back hatch, (5) removable one piece glass top. The most disappointing thing is the Bose speakers. They're great when they work. * I live near the NCM track in Bowling Green and this car exceeded my expectations on the track, especially at its age. Best bang for the buck Vette ever produced!
