  • Here's a quick tutorial on how to approach the piro tic-tocs on a helicopter, hopefully it helps. If I missed something, or it's not helping at all just leave a comment down below.

best tutorial yet on piro tic tocs.It really helps.one step further would be to talk about how it feels at the field on the real thing as oppesed to sim, if there is any.I know personally I cant get the 'pop' out of my heli vs the sim heli

J Funk Thanks! Usually after practicing it on the simulator I've never had a problem doing it in person, in fact it felt even easier in person (with flybarless at least) I just do it slightly higher or in a comfortable zone. Normally if it feels way off or if you can't get that easy pop, it means your helicopter is not setup to high standards or sometimes I've seen people use lower end quality electronics that had poor performance (like an older style flybarless controller) which causes major issues when doing more advanced 3D maneuvers.

Thanks.your knowledge is right on point. I fly a 450l dominator clone with as much align stuff as I can afford.Im thinking that its pinion gearing is why im lacking that 'pop' that we see in similar heli's. I'll know soon as ive ordered some pinions to play around with. My last step to avhieve the pop was dominator motor and speed controller and the move to 6s batts.if the pinions don't do it. I'll go scorpion motor lol.seriously its the only thing left. That or buy a sick sab goblin or compass 7hv lol thanks again I'll let you know how it goes. ...build, fly ,crash ,repeat

J Funk No problem man, yeah I've seen countless people wasting money on lower end models like E-Flite RTF etc. It's better to get a decent 450 kit like yours then put some nice electronics in IF you're hooked to the hobby. I used to fly my 450 pro more often than any other helicopter, cheap to fix and tons of power! I have a few videos on my channel such as the indoor ones, even with my idle up 1 (which is a much lower headspeed) it's very responsive and smooth because of the quality electronics.

@slinkytreekreeper Depends on the helicopter, usually with a powerful electric helicopter you can simply just add more pitch and keep a standard angle, but if it's a lower powered helicopter, you would need to add more angle and go easier on the pitch for less bogging of the motor/engine. It won't let me reply to your comment, I think it's because you don't have google+ linked to the youtube.

Thanks for the tutorial. I started with the piro rainbow technique and managed to get it down to 360 rotations each side and even some messy reversals and 4 points chucked in but shortening to a single 180 rudder on each side is proving way tougher to get more than 8 or so reps. If it's falling over time do I just need more angle at the extremes to create more lift or some other technique?

It is a p-flip that is turned on its' side alternating positive and negative collective, why is that si hard to explain?

Wow That's outstanding. Could you please show how you set up the Heli in Phoenix. Thank you

Thanks! I use the classic old DX7 from Spectrum back when JR helped them with their design.

Brandon Fiorante thanks mate. ive got a dx5e but the sticks are not smooth. i used to use a futaba but the sim glitch ages ago broke it so scared to use my 12fg on the sim. might have to get a dx7

you do a mistake here dude...i see its an old video tho and probably you dont even care..but anyway...there is a cheat way you can say to do the faster possible piro tic tocs like bossion style not that slow and it dont take more than 40minutes to master it in all orientations....i got problem on piro funnels tho...it seems after 1-2 i start losing it and i cant keep it....and its upseting ^^
