Yeah, only this director was actually able to get Tippie Hedrin. And has at least heard of symbolism and subtlety.
Yeah he has told that Birds was the inspiration.
Please do a video on all Alan Smithee movies.

Halloween: Resurrection and Bad Boys fame who did not want to helm this
made-for-TV movie special on syndication but he was replaced by veteran
Alan J. Levi, whose TV credits such as "Magnum, PI" and now he's married
to Sondra Currie since 1983. Together they have great children. In Birds 2,
Alan J. Levi was the right guy who can direct this suspenseful TV sequel
on syndication with an excellent cast. And everything works just fine.

Same. But not surprised that it does. Was horrified to learn Michael Bay was going to do another remake but it seems he eventually took his exploding birds and went home. Last year there was talk that Harry Potter producer David Heyman was working a tv version for the BBC.
I saw this movie on TV as a kid, around age ten or eleven. At the time I lived close to a lake infested with seagulls; whenever I went down to the lake that summer, I didn't drop my guard for an instant.
'The Birds II' might have been a good movie, or at least entertaining, if the only birds that attacked people were non flying birds, like ostriches, chickens, and penguins.

Holy shit, I’m one of the few who also remembers this movie. I’m a few years younger than you, so I don’t remember any details, but I remember enjoying it as well. That double feature was also my introduction to The Birds and Hitchcock. I’m sure this is terrible, but now I want to see it again.
Resurected reviews are okay, but they should post all the videos that get deleted from the site instead... There is so much Cinemassacre sutff disappearing from the internet, it's really sad

The old fisherman DOES mention the attack on Bodega Bay. "Did you know something like this happened before 30 years ago?" the next scene has the father mention Bodega Bay to his wife.
I remember that scene.

I have it on dvd. Bought it in Germany. No bootleg, real shit. It got both english and deutsch audio, sure you can find it on ebay. The german name on the cover is "Die vögel 2: Die rückkehr".

Matt Barber It was called An Alan Smithee Film: Burn Hollywood Burn. IIRC there was some irony there because the movie itself was indeed an "Alan Smithee film" (as its title suggests) because the director wanted his name off of it.

I actually watched this recently and there was a quick refference to Bodega bay, kind of hinting that Lands end is just the next attack point I don't blame James for missing the refference it's very quick and never gets brought up again

For some reason I was thinking of this movie a few weeks ago. Can't remember why. I do remember seeing it on TV, or as a VHS rental, in the mid 90s. Liked the setting on that island or whatever it was. Didn't remember much of the plot, though. I do remember being satisfied with seeing it, though I barely remember anything about it.
