My apologies to any Brit soldier or otherwise. No insult was intended. Sometimes, ignorance rears it’s ugly head.

This isnt even a Russian/Chinese/Wehrmacht goosestep either, traditional goosestep involves bringing the knee up first, then extending the leg straight on the way down. Here the leg is straightened on the way up and stays straight until the foot hits the ground again. Its been 73 years since independence, the Indians now have their own styles and traditions in place.
Hasn’t always been this way .. marching pattern has changed over the past few decades in India and it is apparent when you compare the marching of infantry contingents upto to 170s-80s at the Republic day parades , with more recent ones ... Bit of a pity really .. too stiff and awkward

Is this the presentation of the saw horse drill? Each man has one end of a saw horse and I guess the top rail has a different group to complete the assembly. Kinda like home a home improvement show, military style.
A bit exaggerated. The goose-stepping, the overemphasized evolutions, the bawled out commands about three times as long as required, all evidence a group of soldiers trying just a bit too hard.

My father was an Indian Air Force officer and he practised this drill every day for 20 long years and his knees are so good that even at 72 years he takes stair case to reach our flat on 3rd floor
