Question 3 seems flawed if you consider the letter "z" as a sealing hanging you get two shadows along x and y plane yes but they never said its a sealing hanging its just a 3D shape suspended in the air and if we could rotate along the z axis and get 2 shadows why not rotate it along thee x or y axis and get the shadow on the botton floor along z plane as well and consider the total lines as 3 not 5.

If you rotate to form shadow on any of the wall that will change the shadows formed on the other two walls also. So you have to consider minimum lines in the space such that at a time these lines form Z on all the 3 walls. Then, if you rotate or do anything, all the shadows will be affected and at a time Z won't be formed on all the 3 walls. That's what I understood. I think it's quite an explanation!?
